Terminology Request
« on: November 14, 2012, 05:26:44 PM »
For those fluent in Russian, I've hit a dead end in trying to find the
correct terminology for the American status "in stock" and
"out of stock" with respect to merchandise in a store.

Any help appreciated, and thanks.

Try Распродано for sold out.

Сейчас в наличии for now available.

Those are two phrases often seen in advertising.

:clapping:

Put my two cents in.  ;)
In stock - есть в наличии
Out of stock - нет в наличии OR в данный момент отсутствует (not available at the moment). IMO, the latter "terminology" is often used when a particular product is temporarily unavailable for immediate sale in a store, but is expected to be available again.

If you want to keep your expressions convergent, never allow them a single degree of freedom.

Thanks a bunch to both of you...

I learned so much Russian just browsing through stores, riding the Metro, and shopping at outdoor markets. But every so often, I come up with an expression
for which I cannot find the Cyrillic equivalent.
