Proof of single status in Russia
« on: June 14, 2021, 10:01:51 PM »
For people that want to get married in another country, many of countries seem to require a "proof of single status". In other words, they want proof that you are eligible to marry. From what I've read, they might also ask for some kind of evidence that it's legal for you to marry in the specific country.

How does Russia handle this? What is the usual procedure in Russia to get "proof of single status"?

Nr. 3

If the partner in Russia needs one, IIRC they need to get the certificate of no impediment at their local ZAGS office,  get it legalized (apostille), then have it all translated into whatever language you need for the country where the marriage takes place.

YMMV

Hey treddie, ask your gal to get the latest info from ZAGS. We've had people explain the process before but not since before the pandemic. Things may have changed since then.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Have you been married before?

Hi! I just wanted to say thanks for the replies.

We got it all worked out and were able to get married. There wasn't anything easy, at any stage of the process but that seems to be par for the course, these days.
