« on: May 16, 2019, 09:13:26 AM »
Bit of a stink re an Israel firm - licenced by the govt to find / create back doors ..

Interesting article from a Telegram fan :

http://telegra.ph/Why-WhatsApp-Will-Never-Be-Secure-05-15

Guess who just put Telegram on his desktop? - and it STILL works in Russia ;)

The US was quick to make a bunch of likely phony or trumped up charges against Huawei...but I doubt anything much will be said about an Israeli company doing in the same vein.    Clearly the 'case' against huawei is trumped up because the US is unable to compete with Huawei, and this is the US effort to force failure onto them....most people already know this.

FT,

The back door issues with Huawei are not 'trumped up'...possibly exaggerated.

The US were not alone in being concerned with fitting Huawei kit in sensitive areas.

My impression is trumped up and exaggerated are the same thing.

The US were not alone in being concerned with fitting Huawei kit in sensitive areas.
Concerned, is one thing, but attempting to destroy the company is rather 'trumped up' of the USA, which is what we (The US) are attempting to do.  I think it is just another trump bargaining chip.  China won't let it be, meanwhile it shouldn't be too had for the techies to verify their gear is clean.

I was always perplexed that WhatsApp could not be broken into.  I doubt there is any app that eventually can not be.  I assume Israel does this for its security concerns, so I have no issue with it.

This post was composed without the aid of google.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten
