Maxx, it is long but I've read it!

I think we are on the same side of the fence. We both suffered from calculating and dishonest spouses. But life is too short to dwell on negative things from your past!

I do hope it all works out for you. :D

Thanks M&M.

I read your post about the abuse you suffered and my heart went out to you. I particularly noted about your still suffering depression because of it. I can identify with this as I suffered crippling depression long after my separation and divorce and still feel a bit sad from time to time. Both of use were used by abusive and unscrupulous people. We had hopes and dreams that were destroyed by selfish people. Perhaps you lost some of your trust? I did. Yes we are on the same side of this issue.

Here is an interesting site of a Russian woman who was abused by her American husband, Myke. This man had been put into prison a number of times and was divorced about three times and kept this hidden from his wife Olga. She was 18 years old and he 55 when they married. She was kept as a slave. Here is the story. BTW I am mentioned ( In a good way! ) in one of the links.

Thanks Maxx,

I think it is going to take you some time to trust a woman again, but ultimately only another woman can help you to rebuild your trust. A partner who would prove you  that not all women are scheming b*****! I was very lucky in that respect because my boyfriend is very supportive and understanding and he nursed me through my worst times. So I do hope you meet someone special and loving to help you to open your heart to love again.

I am glad your divorce is over, and you can move on. In a way I feel that my past is still holding me back, as my ex wouldn't give me a divorce and it has now been dragging for years and has cost me a little fortune (He's on legal aid, so the tax payers will pick up his bill!)

Thank you for the link you've sent. :D

Maxx,

Thank you for posting the link about Olga. I will be sending her a doanation this week. The story sends chills down my spine. That man needs to be in jail for a long, long time.

I am sorry to hear about the stories of M&M and you! I know what it feels like to have had the wool pulled over your eye's. My story is long, married twelve years to a deceitful woman. I am lucky to say that I ended up making out through the divorce. I have the house and the primary residency for my son. Again long sad story but after a year of hard thinking I conclude that not all woman are this way and so here I am activily looking again.

Until you actually get on a plane and make a trip you are still a newbie... Actually, until you can make your way x-town unassisted on the Moscow Metro you are a newbie.;)

2BitBandit,

With the Moscow Metro system, especially at the city center, it's the stacking of train tracks on all the different levels that confuses people not accquainted with the system.  That, and the near vertical high speed escalators that would produce vertigo in an space shuttle veteran.  Keep you eye on the landing platform, do not attempt to read the advertising pasted on the ceilings, otherwise you'll fall on your ass crashing into at least 10 other surly Moscovites.

A decent map of the system can be had for the asking at the National Hotel downtown.  All the lines are color coded so if you know which line you need to catch, and can recognize enough of the Russian alphabet to read your exit stop, I suppose you could get x-town on your own.  Good luck to the newbie in any case.

Look at it like an adventure.

If you are colorblind that makes the color coded system far worse.
It's true, if you know the alphabet, then you can probably figure
out much of the rest.
