Where are you living? City/State
« on: October 20, 2006, 07:44:52 AM »
I think we should find out just how many of us there are and where we are all living. We can move on from there to coordinate a meeting place or even several groups to meet at various locations.
Please post your location city/state and if you have ideas of meeting places that are easily accessable. Baltimore, DC, Philadelphia, NYC, Boston will be easier to find than the small cities.

City/State designation is available in the Member Map - and if everyone will make use of the MM, it should be quite easy to determine geographic proximity.

Damn~! I don't remember if I did all that, Dan.

Anyway, it's Corpus Christi, TX.  "The Sparkling City By The Sea".  I know there is only one other member local,,,, so far.

And I don't count on him to set up a lunch date.

All *what* jb?

You *did* place your pin on the Member Map - and unless my geography is REALLY screwy, Corpus Christi is not in the "USA Eastern" geography - but then again, there is always Southwest Airlines.

I tried a year ago to place my pin, and it did not work.  Tried just now, and still no luck.  I made the view the US and tried to click on my area, but nothing happens.

Dan, is there a secret to how to activate the MM feature?   If so, perhaps you could post it here, and more RWD members could place their pin...

BTW--it might be a browser issue; I'm Mac Safari.

Step 1 - Select USA from Drop-down. Click on "View"
Step 2 - Click the text "Place Your Pin"
Step 3 - Type the name of your City
Step 4 - Use the crosshairs to navigate to the appropriate location on the map. Click the mouse button.
Step 5 - Click the button "Save My Pin"

That should do it.

Too many pins in the NYC area

DaKnack has the only pin that will fit in the state of Maryland. The map is too small.

I'm in Newport News, Virginia.  The nation's capital is only 2-3 hours away by car. New York isn't a bad option to meet either.  My local Newport News/Williamsburg Airport always has direct flights to NYC.  Sometime down the road, after the Mrs gets settled in, I'm seriously considering taking her up there. I figured we'd take a day trip over to Brighton Beach, aka little Odessa.  It's a huge Russian community, and could help ease any homesicknes she might have.

I got my pin placed just fine in Simferopol, but then there wasn't a lot of competition for space.  Right now I'm in Mansfield, TX (Michelangelo should know where that is) visiting my father and taking care of some business.  I've been here way too long and am very much missing the Mrs. and the Ukrainian lifestyle.  The contrasts between there and here have been a little overwhelming for me.  But that's a possible topic for another thread.

Yes, Scott- I know exactly where Mansfield is :-)

But I won't tell my wife about you and your living in Ukraine!  She wants us to move back there, and I don't want to give a hint that it's even possible  ;D  LOL

I'm in Dallas.  jb and I are neighbors, plus or minus a couple hundred miles.

Mansfield, that's just south of Ft. Worth, the real cowtown. Scott, your about 40 minutes from me if you wanted to meet up in the mid-cities for lunch or dinner while you are still in town (you as well Michelangelo).

It's almost t-shirt weather. Here it was 32 degrees this morning, now is 44. Tonight may go down to 24. I am one who likes cold weather. I want to visit Alaska and my wife wants to visit Mexico. I will probably lose.

Me and my husband Tim and my son Andre live in Indiana, PA. 1 hour and 15 min from Pittsburgh.

Turboguy, we must be close! I am still thinking about that Russian language group you sent me the link. The restaurant they gather is really 1 min away from the Russian store where i shop every time i go to Pittsburgh.
