(bringing this thread back from the dead)

....shocked gasp....terrified shriek.... Are you... Are you implying that the carefully selected and background-checked staff at the Embassy accepts bribes?!?!

Seriously though, simple emphasis, nothing more.

ETA: The US Embassy will stop accepting visa fees on August 1st, 2021, so things are getting worse.

Did you or are you able to renew your visa before that date? If not, what are the options?

No, the Embassy had generally stopped processing visas on May 1st.
Since then, they are only stamping the visas to those who have been waiting for their administrative processing to be completed (mostly student visas in areas that require extra security check). Also some immigrant visas (mostly those who had their interviews already scheduled but canceled because of Covid).

I'm neither of those cases, so even though I had my visa renewal scheduled for April 2020, it got canceled when the Embassy stopped operations on March 31st, 2020 due to Covid.

Since then I've been out of luck, but working on it.
Only a couple of US embassies/consulates in other countries currently accepts non-residents/non-citizens, which complicates matters.

It's one hell of a hill to climb at the moment, but, totally worth it for me.
To paraphrase a prominent member here, I'd stick my leg out of a window, in a rainstorm, holding a coat hanger with my bare toes, if that's what it takes.

Sorry to hear that Sea Salt Caramel. It's crazy times. The Russia America relationship is strained, pandemic going on, and soon America is going to get an overhaul. After you get through this, you'll have one heck of a story to tell.

Thanks for sharing this interesting info.  Good English skills.

If you don't mind telling . . . what is this (extra) strong desire to get a visa to USA all about ?

Surely sex can be obtained in your home area !!  :-)
