A tribute to my hero
« on: August 25, 2015, 04:20:52 PM »
I am  writing this topic with tears in my eyes.
I cannot put into words how grateful I am to the person who drove 1000 km from Denver to Canada, and then did another 1500 km in Canada+ 1000 back to Denver just to support a silly russian girl who he knew only virtually. I could not expect it but it was so nice of him!

Thank you so much for all the time, efforts and money spent!
Thank you for support, for showing me Canada, for the Mountains, for intellectual talks and of course for steak you cooked for me  :-)

You cannot even imagine what you did for me. Thanks for returning to me my lost belief in people and even if for only three days you rescued me from loneliness.

I want you to know that somewhere in Moscow you have a friend who you always can ask for any help and who will do everything to help you.

Slumba - you are my hero!

Slumba is a great guy.  I'm glad somebody else had a chance to meet him and I'm really glad you two had a good time together.

I really wish I could have rode along.  Next time!  Though, maybe give me more than a 2 day heads up. :D

Slumba  has shown who he is-- what a great thing you have done  SL.  You have shown who you really are with the generosity of your actions  in a most positive way in real life. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

WOW . . . great story.

Is this the same Slumba some here give a hard time to frequently ?

I can't keep straight who are the bad guys and who are the good guys.

Could they be one and the same?

Why not wear white hats and black hats like in the Westerns, so we don't have to think.

It is hard to figure out who's who. The good guys should wear a big "S" on their chest for identification purposes.

Way to come through as a great friend, Slumba.  Anya it was very nice of you to make the effort to publicly thank Slumba too.  Both of you are good people.

Very good of Slumba to make this huge gesture and also very good of abashka to Write about it and show her gratitude. It makes steps to restore faith in the human condition. We need more of that all over the globe.

Anya,

I am happy that you had a chance to travel in Canada.  It is very beautiful.

Your mentioning the word 'Corn' reminds me of a story/joke told about an Englishman visiting Iowa for the first time.
After seeing all the huge fields planted with corn, he asked his host what they did with it all.

His host said:  "We eat what we can and what we can't we can."

The perplexed Englishman went back to his home and was asked the same question in conversation.  He looked a little confused and answered:  "They ate what the could and what they couldn't, they could."
