Eric, considering your last posts - here and elsewhere - you're decidedly turning mellow :D.

Sandro.. a girl ran a red light Sunday night and smashed into the side of my car.. car is totaled.. my back is feeling better today but my neck still hurts.  One of those events that makes you think about things.

Plus.. my lady has been AWESOME!  Even though she spent all her money today she hasn't giggled like that in a long time.. it was music to my ears... she was positively bubbly and adorable!  I think she is getting over all the drama of the last year and the girl that got me on the plane is back to being herself.  Patience is soooo important.

Not this singers normal genre, but it's a good drinking song.

Her morning elegance. Don't know why some people think that this video is not very optimistic - I always have a good mood while watching/listening to it :)

That video reminds me of one on John Lennon's Imagine, showing a girl crossing various rooms and growing up in the process, but I couldn't find on Youtube.

Bear's train ride, on the other hand, reminded me that I also love the sound of the accordion - and its smaller brother the bandoneon, which of course means tango/milonga and Astor Piazzolla:

Mental associations are indeed strange. I suddenly remembered Les compagnons de la chanson, a French group popular in the 1950s, mostly for their Les trois cloches, sung here with Edith Piaf:

Its English version might be more familiar:

Another French song that gained some popularity with English lyrics by Paul Anka ;):

In all likelihood he was. Lip synching was the order of the day on Soul Train and American Bandstand as well as most television shows

CLASSICAL MUSIC
Un-Classical Uses Of ;)

Changing a few words, the title of this thread could become: Music to make love to :devilish:

The first example, Maurice Ravel's Bolero, was publicly used in the movie "10" to score a sex scene with Bo Derek and Dudley Moore, starting at 2:50 in the clip.

The second example, Richard Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra was NOT used by Stanley Kubrick in  his "2001, A Space Odyssey" for similar purposes. However, a girl I met long ago was probably inspired by "10" and insisted to use THAT as our private background score. Her choice seemed needlessly dramatic - rather than sensual - to me, so I dumped her after our first and only duet 8).

Any similar musical experiences ;D?

I like the sound of the first version better, however I enjoy watching Jack Sperling on the drums, Jack Sperling was truly one of the most amazing percussionists of this century.

and of course there was the Elvis Presley version

Elvis was a great entertainer and was an excellent singer (when he wasn't singing the bubblegum music)

Here's a couple from another singer with a great voice;

My favorite song from this artist

and this one is always a lively tune (my second favorite)
