12 people said over $5K
Or is it true that paper can hold anything you write on it?

Not much reason to be dishonest on an anonymous poll.

I know of 5 guys here who do fit that $5K category for sure.

Good point.

But reminds me of funny recent event.

I have very nice 22 rifle with tube that holds 19 rounds.  Use it to shoot varmints on our property.  But the semi-auto feature stopped working as it just jammed up the new cartridge when it tried to load.

So I bought new 22 a while back.  It came with a scope that I don't like to use, but . . . after I finally got around to checking the rifle out . . . found out it has no rear sight nor front bead . . . so I had to try to use the scope.

I assumed the scope was in working order.  However, I shot at this one rabbit that kept hanging around our garden about 8 times over a few days.  The rabbit never even flinched, but ran away before I could get in position for second  shot.  It was driving me crazy.

Finally decided that maybe something was wrong with the scope.  So bought a pack of targets, affixed one to tree and started shooting.  Aimed right at bulls eye, fired, then walked over to see how far off it was.   There was no hole ANYWHERE on the target.

So I aimed to left hand side of target, fired and walked over to look.  The hole was on the far right hand side of target . . . off by some 8 to 10 inches.  It took me about 10 more shots to get the scope adjusted.  I first turned to screw the wrong way . . . of course.

A few days later, one of my hunting neighbors asked if I had been shooting.  I told him my story.  He laughed and inferred (without saying) that I was pretty stupid to think that the rifle came with scope already adjusted.

But I did get the rabbit the very next time.

But I'm still waiting for the tomatoes . . . yummy, yummy.
Some are starting to turn red now.

We had two tomatoes turn red and Angel Eyes gave one to my father and one to
Mini-me. I thought that she loved me

Read that
Yeah, you have to adjust the scope.
You didn't see that there were no front/rear sights?
You can install them.
Semi... probably clean and oil.
Curious who made the rifles?
I've noticed that Marlin 60 went up on their price.
They went down on the feed from 18 to 14 shots.
No more wood stocks...everything is polymer now.

Where I live, don't even need a gun for deer.
Likely could get one with baseball bat or golf club.
But I think the Awwww from wife would change and not for better,
if I tell her we are eating bambi for supper LOL..

Did you place those targets at 50 yards to adjust your scope? If not, you may need to adjust the scope again. At 50 yards, the bullet should hit dead on where the crosshairs are lined up. At a hundred yards the bullet will hit higher than what you're looking at in the crosshairs about an inch or so. At 200 yards the bullet trajectory falls enough to be on the crosshairs again.

Thanks Billy, I knew nothing of this.
