Coronavirus Crises in Ukraine
« on: August 26, 2020, 05:49:48 PM »
Well aside from any unofficial side to Coronavirus numbers in Ukraine the official side is now that official Coronavirus numbers are on the rise, either that or the Chinese virus detecting kits are getting better lol.

http://www.aa.com.tr/en/latest-on-coronavirus-outbreak/ukraine-closes-borders-as-coronavirus-infections-rise/1954010

Looks like I was right to sit on my hands on that one as Ukraine is now closing its borders to all foreigners coming from in so it must be getting pretty bad there. Could well be that it might be getting out of hand there. I doubt this will be doing much good for their economy. Means little foreign wealth flowing in and probably tighter local lockdown measures making local business struggle out there I'm guessing.

With lockdown measures being extended to Oct/Nov direction I reckon it means its probably quite bad out there with things going from bad to worse. Even ex-PM falling ill from it in recent days:

If you are not already in a relationship, best to wait until there is a vaccine before traveling again.

Nothing compared to the USA and UK though.

185,986 Covid-19 deaths in the USA.

41,486 Covid-19 deaths in the UK.

2,492 Covid-19 deaths in Ukraine.

Just to put things into perspective Trench,so don't get your hopes up that the Ukraine economy will fall apart and you'll get tons of beauties in distress who will do anything to marry a foreigner from the 20% crashed economy in the UK..with thousands losing their jobs here everyday.

I see SAGE is now saying the UK could get another 85,000 Covid-19 deaths this winter as a second wave smashes into us..and you think Ukraine has got problems.

I communicate with a couple of ladies in Ukraine and they are well aware of the situation here in the UK...it's hot news over there.

As I have pointed out before . . . those are REPORTED deaths . . . and for many countries, they are not the ACTUAL number.

So it is comparing apples and oranges.

That's guesswork on your part though...no proof.

Just because other countries have lower death rates than ours doesn't mean they're all lying or hiding the figures.

In actual fact Public health England is being closed down because they had INFLATED the Covid-19 death figures by 5,377.

CB fell for the UK govt figures NOT our office of National Statistics.
60k+ died from the virus..

The UK govt also told us it 'hits targets for testing ( 100k tests by the end of May)...

But some were counted twice...

The US has not (yet) surprised the UK's death rate, proportionally..

Current case fatality rate in France is over 20%. Some nations like the UK and Spain quit reporting data to calculate their case fatality rate. If the virus got out of control like it did in New York and New Jersey, within a few months it killed one of every 600 citizens there. The flu, heart disease, or any other injury or illness can't come close to killing as many humans. With only a few states out of control on deaths, it elevated the coronavirus as the number one killer of Americans. The reason we don't see a lot of deaths now is because we have altered our way of life to prevent spread.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Fake News

We are making major changes in our lives to reduce deaths and make it only our third leading cause of death. We don’t even make these changes for our leading cause of death until COVID easily took the top spot.

I do not agree. It’s politicized and for reasons other than mitigation

Forget about what the liberals are saying. Trump willingly sacrificed trillions of dollars and our economy to get the results that COVID will end up the third leading cause of deaths of Americans this year. Trump is spending hundreds of billions if not trillions to find treatments and vaccines to beat this virus. This virus is costing us and other countries big time because it is bad news.

After 4 weeks of battling the COVID in a Ukrainian hospital, my wife's uncle finally went home. Medical tests shows he has heart and lung damage though. Hopefully it won't be permanent.

I have heard it will be permanent.
Same thing happened to my 98 year old Mother.
She survived Corona itself, but now has the lung damage.

Right, and 7 billion will die of this virus after a year.  Even the CDC is now (apparently) reporting that only 6% of deaths died of the ViRUS alone. 94% died of comorbidity.

Next time just say no.

This newly released report tells us for the first time how badly Ukraine is likely to be affected by the fallout from the Coronavirus:

http://reliefweb.int/report/ukraine/comprehensive-assessment-confirms-devastating-impact-covid-19-ukraine-enuk

This is a far worse assessment then the news reports to date that have been suggesting Ukraine will rebound after the virus back to economic growth. I feel the stated report is probably far more likely. Under such circumstances Ukrainian women are likely to be gagging for it.

I read a petition review today for a visa out of Ukraine......
Quote
Sept 21 2020--[She] had her interview today and it went swimmingly well. I am leaving a 5 star review to rate her experience with the interview itself; but leading up to it was a horrendous experience.

It started in March, I (petitioner) had flown to be present at her interview. The day before our interview date, the embassy called her and cancelled it due to the Corona epidemic blowing up. We were devastated... no matter how we begged and pleaded, they refused to interview her. We wasted so much time, money and effort. I had to fly back to the US before they closed down the airports. For the next six months, there was no movement on our case and every inquiry was met with vague responses of resuming asap but at an unknown date. It was incredibly frustrating.

At the beginning of September, the Dept of State issued a notice that K1's would be given priority (presumably because lawsuits were being organized against them) and soon after, they called her asked if she was available to interview Sept 21. She immediately accepted it and was given further instructions. Medical expiration was extended by one month, so as long as she enters the US before mid October, we won't need a new medical appointment.

The interview itself was a breeze. She showed up 20 minutes before, was escorted inside. There was one person ahead of her. The kind middle aged blonde lady welcomed her in accented Russian/Ukrainian and requested she speak in English for the interview. We had been anticipating this as we were informed by someone else the week before that their interview had to be conducted in English only as well. She was asked about her relationship with me, the times we met, what we had in common, and within 15 minutes she was approved. We are both so ecstatic! Finally, after all this time... Now onto the next step, getting her here safely!

Overall Trump did a pretty good job against Covid, starting with when he cancelled flights from China.

The libs and the media claimed he was racist for doing that. The coverage has followed a similar pattern.

Cancelling flights was and is a pointless exercise.

Most nations allowed nations to return or repatriated them.

Most nations trusted their citizens to self-isolate or tested them during quarantine.

When other nations locked down the skies in the US were busy with folks flying across the country.....

First official source in the UK press that all is not going well in Ukraine with the Coronavirus:

http://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/coronavirus-ukraine-cases-update-lockdown-covid-infections-b878673.html%3famp

Looks like they are now officially admitting the hospital system is cracking under it all and may not hold up as things get worse. Shortages of Doctors, expensive medicine and beds apparently.

Meanwhile Ukraine is looking at having to lockdown again which it can ill afford. The economy already weakened by the virus, civil war, corruption is probably not going to hold up well.

Well as someone who is in Ukraine now, and seen a lot of cities, there is a struggle, bought two men a big mac last night as they were homeless, a few days ago after a date with a lady. But far from as bad as i heard in the UK, financially people were struggling, but now restrictions are lifted, people are working again.

Depends where you are in the UK..

'My' rural region has nearly 50 times less new cases than ( say) Manchester

That's not looking good for him then, old age, underlying health condition, Covid and pneumonia - for many that would mean they are gonners. Only possible thing he might have in his favour is better access to medicine & Doctors than you're average Ukrainian though that could prove to be not enough.

I've had my flu jab for this season a couple of weeks or so ago. I also got a pneumonia jab back in the summer but will have to wait till next summer to get the more comprehensive one. I wouldn't want to be in Ukraine without much in the way of jabs at the moment, hopefully the situation will ease next year as I'm hoping to be able to get back there then.

That's good news considering he's been sick for 3 weeks. He may have permanent organ damage. The longer and harder the battle, the harder it's on the organs. My wife's uncle fought it for a month and almost died. Medical tests revealed his heart was damaged.

Looks like Ukraine may be about to crack under the Coronavirus:

http://www.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN27J0L2

The CORONA reality is bad in Ukraine but far worse in other nations.

Daily COVID-19 spike in Ukraine hits new high with over 9,500 cases on Nov 4

Ukraine said 9,524 new active COVID-19 cases had been confirmed across the country in the past 24 hours as of November 4, 2020, marking yet another highest daily rise.

Read alsoDaily number of new COVID-19 cases in Ukraine may grow to 15,000 by Jan – expertThe total number of confirmed cases grew to 420,617 as of November 4, 2020, according to the interactive map compiled by the National Security and Defense Council.

As many as 176,404 patients, including 7,536 in the past day, have recovered.

The death toll has hit 7,731 with 199 fatalities recorded in the past day.

The government reported 236,482 active cases as of November 4. In total, there have been 496,419 reports on suspected COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020.

The highest number of new confirmed cases in the past 24 hours was registered in the city of Kyiv (856), Kharkiv region (850), Donetsk region (636), Odesa region (547), and Khmelnytsky region (511).

Quarantine in Ukraine: Background

The adaptive quarantine was introduced on August 1. The Ukrainian regions were split into the green, yellow, orange, and red zones depending on hospital load, the average number of PCR and ELISA tests, the ascertainment rate of COVID-19, and daily spread dynamics.
Quarantine-related curbs differ in each zone. The mildest ones are in the green zone, the regions included in the red zone will have to introduce the toughest restrictions.

On October 13, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the adaptive quarantine by late 2020.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov says the ministry has no plans to introduce a new lockdown in Ukraine yet.
Ukraine's updated epidemic zoning took effect on Monday, November 2.

Wow kharkiv and kiev and nearly levelled, yet kiev has around double the population, and not as dense. I guess maybe more people are immune in kiev.

Well Billy has always held from his MIL that the Coronavirus is underreported in Ukraine, both cases and deaths, in part due to dodgy Chinese tests and in part due to deaths being written off as something else. I've heard the tests might have got better off recent that come from China but I wouldn't really know. Apparently according to Billy's MIL the hospitals are heaving out there under the strain of the virus and not a place anyone would want to be. The report link I put above pretty much reckons the hospitals will totally crack under pressure from the virus when it reaches around 20,000 cases (official figures I guess). I personally think they could get to those figures daily around December time if not before, there already at around 10,000 cases at the moment. Add into that the flu season, colds and pneumonia with probably few having had vaccines or medication for that out there and there could be one hell of a storm on their hands.

Apparently the hospitals out there are already low on drugs to fight the virus, especially the more expensive ones. I doubt the doctors and nurses will hold out much longer before either succumbing to the virus themselves or taking flight and on that score I wouldn't blame them.

Situation worsening in Ukraine:

http://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rferl.org/amp/coronavirus-related-deaths-in-ukraine-exceed-10-000-/30956336.html

Looks like they will be up to around 15,000 infections a day by next week. So my prediction of potentially around 20,000 infections a day in December will probably ring true.

Odds are the President will recover as heads of state tend to get the best treatment and he is still relatively young and in decent enough shape. Looks like their medical staff are being hit hard though and with increased admittances I can see their health care system cracking under it all. Looks like the economy may be hit bad this time with all the lockdown measures. I believe they had a lockdown earlier in the year briefly for a few weeks though their official figures were not all that high back then so a second one will probably be compounding the damage by now.

Recent report that apparently 10 percent of SME's are on the verge of bankruptcy in Ukraine:

http://112.international/politics/coronavirus-crisis-over-10-of-small-and-medium-sized-enterprises-in-ukraine-on-verge-of-bankruptcy-56876.html

My guess is that Ukraine is getting into a pretty poor economic state out there.

The GBP to UAH is now almost at 38 ghrivna to the pound, not far off an all time high and underlines how bad things may be getting out in Ukraine.

Times were a lot tougher before for people , it has got a lot better, but they again recently done lock downs . My tattoo studio is still operating , but locks the doors to avoid people knowing they are still operating. I did see one of the tattoo masters asking for extra money as he was running low. Usually they make around 20k to 30k uah a month , average salary of a person is maybe 12k .it is tough but not so bad here in Ukraine.

Looks like virus figures are starting to creep up again in Ukraine. This has apparently been anticipated as the Delta variant makes its way in. Still lagging behind on Vaccinations Ukrainians could be in for a tough ride again soon.
