Title: Those missing in Ukraine or from Ukraine
Post by: Trenchcoat on February 03, 2023, 07:38:46 PM
So thought I would do a thread on the subject of those missing in Ukraine or those missing from Ukraine for whatever reason. Kind of strikes me that after all that has gone on to date that there is likely need to talk of those Ukrainians that are missing for whatever reason. Here is a source which briefly covers some of the reasons why Ukrainians are missing and where some may have gone:

The interesting one in that list I find are the ones who have been deported to Russia and appear unable to return. On the news to date I've heard little from them but perhaps they are too restricted in Russia to be able to get word out as to the exact situation.

In cases such as Mariupol the city is mostly destroyed and was encircled. Bakhmut pretty much destroyed also and a few others. Kherson is being pounded daily and apparently is now pretty much a ghost city with many of the remainder of citizens who were their after the Russians left fleeing as a result.  Then there were cases from around Kyiv of atrocities and stuff happening around Kharkiv too and no doubt other areas.

I'm guessing odds are that forum members here may have heard stuff of people, either what happened too them or have gone missing altogether so would be interested to hear to gain a better idea of what's happening out there.

Putler toured Mariupol yesterday:

City was pretty much destroyed with just a few residents and buildings left remaining. Apparently Russia has been doing reconstruction work, guessing for Russian citizens to move into. He met some so-called residents during his tour but I doubt they were the original citizens. A process of Russification it's looking.

Putler got charged with war crimes for the forced deportation of women and children the other day so makes you wonder how many original residents remain in any if the cities they took over.

I suspect the stench of death will be strong in many areas as undiscovered bodies start decomposing with warmer weather. Many were probably buried by collapsed buildings.
