Changing the 'Subject' when replying to posts
« on: September 18, 2024, 10:16:36 AM »
Am I the only one here who knows how to change the 'Subject' when replying to a posting ????

I post things to some existing threads that are in response to postings that do not fit the original 'subject' title.

In those cases, it  is most appropriate to change the 'subject.'
I think  this is a better use of space than continually creating new threads.

So WOW . . . how do I manage to change the 'Subject.'
I'll admit this is hard to master, so I will help.

1) Put your cursor in the 'Subject' line.
2) Use the backspace or delete keys to eliminate all the words in the 'Subject' line.
3) Then use appropriate letter keys on your keyboard to type in an appropriate 'Subject.'

It may take some practice.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Varies, can be useful, some just like to do a thread on a specific subject to keep it self contained so the thread doesn't become overly woolly. Could be handy when reading or searching for a specific subject, though there are so many threads here from over the years. I've never really taken the time to go back myself and search through threads from years ago. Bill has helpfully pulled up many old threads, I sometimes read some of them.

A lot can be learned from some old posts, some I see got the hang of the FSW dating game long ago. I could have probably learnt some important lessons earlier had I read back, but so, so, so much to read, who would know where to start.

Some old threads are interesting, like travelling back in time and wishing you were there to take part in the action. I guess for some members here their old travel threads are like reliving those moments a little.

Changing the thread though does help discuss whatever whenever as it flows. A flowing conversation has it's own merits I think, some like change in topic in a thread some don't I guess.

Bill has had his own pet peeves with me on changing threads even if the title stays the same ;D
