"Mittens is not a credible source."

why?   cuz he's anti-Trump?
a lot more credible then "he whose name must not be mentioned"

what he was referring to was 'this'

Citizens United v. FEC
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC#Dissent

political donations are 'free speech'
all the animals are equal you see
but some are MUCH more equal than others
money can't buy you love, but it can buy you all the politicians you want on both sides of the isle

here's a CPA 'certified Political Accountant" view
http://www.opensecrets.org/elections-overview/biggest-donors

rich people all donate to whatever party, for the same reason...
to influence the party, as a form of 'wealth protection'

money turns our congress from the 'house of commons' into the 'house of lords'
not too good for the 'commoners' now is it?

Bill, is this video below, why yur a republican?
http://twitter.com/i/status/1734633407081033784
cuz you want America to be a theocracy like Iran, but just with a different religion?

I didn't leave the party, the party left me

It goes the opposite way. Upside down and backwards again. Bill Mahr, Joe Rogan Tulsi
Gabbard all left the Democrats because of woke crap.

"corporations are people, my friend", said Mitt Romney....

Beel, just to use the example of a SINGLE 1.6 billion USD right-wing donation
http://www.politico.com/news/2023/05/02/leonard-leo-federalist-society-00094761
and also let's not forget the "Mercer family" who gave us Trump in 2016
there's gazillions more, but I'm too lazy to search

billionaires donate to both sides, it's called hedging

You said big corporations not Billionaires. Show me a dollar that Bill Gates, Bezos,
Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, George Soros, Larry Ellison, Michael Dell or Warren
Buffet donated to the right, they didn't hedge. Most billionaires are Dem's only a
very few are Republican.

Most Big Corporations are woke and give to woke causes or suffer the rath of the left.

A form of 'kid-napping?'

Yeah, but she was in love with me. It was Norf Dakody's variation on
Stockholm syndrome (in ND your brain freezes from the cold a little bit).

Odds and Ends / Would it be better to live in geo-political regions?
« Last post by Trenchcoat on Today at 02:20:41 PM »
Here is a thought I thought I would throw on here for discussion.

What about instead of countries people grouped together in regions of the world with the same or similar politics/ideology.

Let's face it people can argue to their hearts content about politics and how things should be but people rarely if ever change their point of view. In theory it means that in many countries are many people living opposed to the politics of that country/government. So in that respect under conditions they would rather not do so.

So what if instead the world was split up by different geo-political regions.

So Feminists would have their own region, Male Chauvinists another region, Racists another region, Multiculturalists another, Capitalists another, Socialists another and so on and so forth.

Then people could go and live in the region that aligned with their politics/ideology etc, so for them live in their paradise without being subjected to the whim of politics/ideology they are opposed to.

I was also a 'wonder.'

Current wife and I married after she had lived with me for 3 and half years in USA.

We had 're-introduced' 4 years earlier after having briefly first met a few times 10 years earlier at business meetings.

In early May, it will have been 20 years since our brief first meetings.

Since I am so old . . . I can't wait around to celebrate X years of marriage, so we are going to celebrate our 20th in May 2024.

We still 'wonder' how it all came about.

One tid-bit:

When she was waiting in line for first visa (student type) to USA she said:

"God,  if I should NOT go to USA, then just don't allow my visa to be approved."

. . . I decided that I was not going to send her back, so I drove her to Las Vegas and married her.

the thing about playing 'games of chance'
is once in awhile ya hear about someone hitting 'a big jackpot' which gets attention
but you almost never hear about the 'schmucks' (am I allowed yiddish on this site?) who lose their shirt...
so noobs consider it realistic to play because of the lack of perceived negatives
they don't do any sort of analysis. to determine their chances of success
if they did, most of 'em would't gamble with their lives this way

even if yur a card counter, in the world's dumbest casino (doesn't reshuffle deck)
when you place yur bet on the table
it's always gonna be a sphicter tightening moment

good players, have real playin skillz that they've learned, it bumps up their odds
poor players only have the image of the jackpot and how they're gonna spend it

how do ya say, "I dropped the toothpaste in German"?
CrestFallen
ach mensch...
