<tit>GENERAL PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE SAYS THAT CORRUPTION IN RUSSIA HINDERS ECONOMIC GROWTH
Deputy General Prosecutor Vladimir Kolesnikov states that the real level of corruption in Russia exceeds the effect from development of economy.
Kolesnikov stresses, "Evaluating the economic processes objectively we see destructive influence of corruption and economic crime on the national economy. This influence blocks economic processes."
According to Kolesnikov, corruption influences all areas of state power significantly. He points out, "Corrupt state officials have achieved a situation where many companies that run their business legally are afraid to complain to the prosecutor's office about the facts of extortion."
Kolesnikov also says that corruption feeds the shadow sector of economy and generates pre-ordered bankruptcies, criminalization of the economy and non-payment of taxes.
According to Kolesnikov, the danger of economic crime is its organized nature and connection with state bureaucracy.
The Deputy General Prosecutor said that approximately since 2001, a trend of new re-division of property began, attempts to dispute privatization results and attempts of forceful taking of companies grew more frequent. According to him, a part of illegally earned profit of dishonest companies, for instance, in the alcohol sector, is legalized and leads to misbalance in the economy.
Kolesnikov also points at the need to tighten the measures of punishment for breaches of rights of intellectual property. He emphasizes that punishment should be applicable to manufacturers, to intermediaries and to sellers.

In 2006, Automobili Lamborghini will open the first showroom in Russia, reports Mercury, the exclusive dealer of Lamborghini in the territory of Russia.
A special technical center for maintenance of Lamborghini cars in Russia became operational in summer of 2005. Official supplies of Lamborghini cars to Russia began in 2006.
The first showroom of Lamborghini will sell cars of the entire model range including Gallardo, Gallardo Spyder, Murcielago Roadster and Murcielago LP 640. Cars for Russian clients will be made according to orders. Prices of the basic modifications of the cars start from EUR210,000. The quota by the end of 2006 amounts to 20 cars.
