rather than spoil the 'Trampu' thread, for those following the discussion about GM's first hybrid ...

It WAS pulled because of non profitability and the car was no lemon.

Bob Lutz, ex of Ford Europe and lately GM ( now retired) words..

Tesla also gets government subsidiies to function well. If subsidies ended, would the car survive? Elon Musk and Trump seems to have developed a bromance  so I predict the electric cars they're producing will turn a profit.

Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

It seems they would survive, and quite well.

Subsidies aren't the only thing they benefit from to keep them afloat. Obama used to give buyers of the car a $7500 tax credit. Now individual states, mostly Democratic run, give tax credits to help improve the sales of the car. Another tax saving electric car owners is getting is they don't have to pay road tax which is paid at the pump to repair roads. Electric car owners get to pound the pavement for free while somebody else pays for the damage they cause. If everything was equal, electric car sales would tank.
