Interactive Map of Kharkiv - Impress your friends

All you need is a small understanding of the Russian alphabet and you'll be able to really impress your friends with this interactive map.  When you ask her what part of Kharkiv she is from, she gives you a name and you say - oh that's eight km north of  City Center.   While it may only be map point to you, it is her home.   

If she's a scammer, it will scare the hell out of her. . . . maybe - if she was dumb enough to tell you where she really lives. . . . . .    Hehehe.

This map is much more community friendly than Google Maps.  It is put out by a competitor - WikiMaps. 

If you highlight an area, it will tell you the subdivision.  If you highlight a metro station, it will clue you in on where stairs lead underground. 

I have a friend who lives in KTP - or Kharkov Tractor Plant.  If you go to that area (East of Saltovka) it will show you where that sub-division begins and ends. 

Finally, it will tell you, on individual buildings, what they are used for:  Residential, hotel, stadium, etc.

It gives you the type of detail that normally only a native would know.  Quite an upgrade.

Great mapping site, Jon.  This should be an excellent tool for planning trips and also writing trip reports.

Hey thanks, my wife loves it. She can zoom down on her apartment, kindergarten, grammar school etc. A walk down memory lane....cool
