VWRW felt the report was somewhat exaggerated.   There are basically three stories here, the first and second are about two women who were cheated out of thier money by male scammers.   It was done to develop some sympathy for the women who were really a little foolish in their choices and gullable. 

The third through 6th stories involve male scammers and says they work under the Russian Mafia.   Most are young men and their friends and family are fully aware of what they do for a living.  They just seem to think it is fun and find nothing bad in what they do.   One city had a major crackdown and arrested several hundred scammers in one day in 2006.

The men scammers were saying if they had one of the guys want to come for a visit they would say they lived in the far north and that they should wear 3 or more pairs of pants many layers of coats and Russian boots and that they would be going by horse through the forest and they can be attacked by bears and robbed or kidnapped so they should be prepaired for hardship and danger.   The men instead send money and say come to me.

VWRW felt it was done in an exaggerated way to amuse people and make it interesting and that what they were showing were extreme cases.   She feels most babushka watching this will worry more about their daughters leaving for the new life overseas.   They also suggest not using the internet but to use agencies.

I never look through this type of  stories.
I have seen one story about Russian MOB and that was enough.

Well, i have just watched all of these episodes. I don't know if this is exaggerated or not, but i believe that the situation there is very sad and critical, no job opportunities for young people, it was actually shocking for me to see that both husband and wife participate in this "business", and it is not something on the side, but their ONLY income.

We all know there are lots of scammers, but i can't for some reason believe that it is 90% or 99% as that professional Russian scammer said, i read somewhere only 10% or 15%... I don't know

I second this opinion.

The justice of Yoshkar-Ola seems to have done a good job of prosecuting the scammers.

Also they say of about 15 WM only 2 or 3 were gullible and became scam victims. Well done guys!
