Airbnb rape horror story

I've talked to some people who use Airbnb to obtain lodging on their trips. I imagine this works out well the vast majority of the time, but you should take some precautions. We read about the horror stories for the homeowners, such as the apartment owner whose Airbnb guests held an orgy.  But there are some horror stories on the other side too.  Here is one such story.

A 19 year old guy stayed at the home of a transsexual in Madrid. The transsexual tried to talk the guy into having sex. He refused.  That night the transsexual raped him. 

The transsexual says the sex was consensual and the 19 year old was just "transphobic".

The kid was 19 years old.  Should he wait until he is making 100k a year?   I take it you were never a backpacker in your youth.  Can you remember your youth?

The guy was 19 years old. Teenagers have traveled on the cheap since time began.
It's also not unheard of that a teenager makes an occasional bad decision. What's up
with your inability to analyze the blatantly obvious and jump to a faulty conclusion that
is completely contrary to the facts at hand?

Im still lost here on the whole "rape" thing.
Did "she" still have male or female equipment?
The "victim" at 19, cant really be raped if "she" doesnt have the equipment to violate him and his equipment fails to function.
Without the details its hard to say or judge what really happened

I assume that it's a transsexual with a penis that had the physical ability to overpower him.

Men can be raped by women.  It is not common, but not uncommon, either.

I have never used UBER - which was co-founded by a Canadian - BTW, but I HAVE used airbnb to stay in places that perhaps you still cannot afford....

I have used BlaBlaCar - French founders... to offer rides  to folks when on long  journeys..  profit was not the motif... Hoping for some interesting company, was...
 
Was there anything useful you wanted to add to this thread - or do you enjoy making our cousins believe all Brits suffer such a woeful lack of cognoscence ?

Last fall I used Housetrip.com and rented a villa in Poggi (Imperia) and another villa in Montelupo (Florence) for cheap! So nice. Yeah!








The hotels were Meh and more expensive.
