The 13 year old had a record of 23 arrests for crimes such as purse snatching, home burglary, theft and four stolen cars.

When you were holding them down, did you apply some pain and tell him he's going to get killed someday? Apparently the kid's parents and law haven't put enough scare into the kid to make him stop what he's doing. Now he's got 24 arrests on his record and recruited a 10 year old accomplice. My prediction is that he's not going to stop and going to cause a lot more innocent people pain through theft, violence and sexual assault before he gets locked up for a long time.

As a longtime fan of fried chicken I'm curious about this.

I hear you Larry. When debating how to prepare "fried" chicken with wifey, I wouldn't want to get a beat down either.

Nah, you can't smash kids that young. Last thing I need is a charge for hurting a minor. We chased them down and gently sat on them until the officers arrived. The officer told him he was going to end up dead though.

Apparently the kid's parents and law haven't put enough scare into the kid to make him stop what he's doing.

And that is the problem. Probably only has his mother around who cannot or does not want to control him. As a minor he faces no real repercussions. In my case the officers let him walk away and I saw the two walking down the street the next day. He had just served 21 days in juvie and was ready for more.

My prediction is that he's not going to stop and going to cause a lot more innocent people pain through theft, violence and sexual assault before he gets locked up for a long time.

The officers prediction was he would be gunned down on the streets before he turns eighteen. Or locked up permanently shortly after his birthday as all the points he is racking up will eventually count against him during sentencing. Hopefully nobody is seriously hurt before then.

Florida Man really, really wants to force a jury to watch his sex tape
Jurors may get an eyeful if defendant shows sex tapes in court
January 22, 2014|By Paula McMahon, Sun Sentinel

The South Florida man wants to introduce sex tapes and intimate photographs of himself and his wife as evidence in his criminal trial to try to prove that his marriage was real and not just undertaken for immigration purposes.

The trial of Rogerio Scotton — which starts Thursday in federal court in Fort Lauderdale — has nothing to do with sex.

The Brazilian-born former professional racecar driver, who lived in Boca Raton and Margate before his arrest in March 2012, is charged with 27 counts of mail fraud and two counts of lying to immigration authorities.

Naked paranoids: Florida's flakka problem

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — One man ran naked through a Florida neighborhood, tried to have sex with a tree and told police he was the mythical god Thor. Another ran nude down a busy city street in broad daylight, convinced a pack of German shepherds was pursuing him.

Two others tried separately to break into the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. They said they thought people were chasing them; one wound up impaled on a fence.

The common element to these and other bizarre incidents in Florida in the last few months is flakka, an increasingly popular synthetic designer drug. Also known as gravel and readily available for $5 or less a vial, it's a growing problem for police after bursting on the scene in 2013.

Starting to become an epidemic here and they say it may make the crack cocaine issue we had in the 80's look tame in comparison. Probably a good time to relinquish your firearms folks.

Somehow I doubt you'll see any Floridians here eager to make it harder for law-abiding people to have the means of defending themselves and their families against violent criminals. Those calls typically come from folks who live much farther away from violent predators.

Talking robot hitch-hikes in Germany, The Netherlands, and Canada, but survives only two weeks in the US before vandals destroy it.

Quote
Hitch-Hiking Robot Who Relied On Strangers' Kindness Was 'Damaged Beyond Repair' In Philadelphia

hitchBOT was found decapitated on Saturday, just two weeks into its American tour.

Poor hitchBOT.

After successfully traveling around Canada, Germany and The Netherlands, the hitch-hiking robot who relied on the goodwill of strangers to get around met an untimely and brutal demise in Philadelphia.

The Canadian researchers who created hitchBOT as a social experiment told The Associated Press that the child-sized robot was damaged “beyond repair” by vandals on Saturday in the city of brotherly love, pulling the plug on the bot’s first American tour.

HitchBOT had kicked off the tour just two weeks before in Massachusetts.

According to Canadian journalist Lauren O’Neil, hitchBOT was found with its head and arms ripped off.

“We decided not to publish it,” Zeller told Buzzfeed Canada of the image. “It’s upsetting -- you can see how it has been taken apart and left in the street.”

HitchBOT is an entirely helpless, but talkative, traveling companion. The immobile bot “could toss out factoids and carry limited conversation. A GPS in the robot tracked its location, and a camera randomly snapped photos about every 20 minutes to document its travels,” per the AP.

Earlier this year, hitchBOT successfully traveled around The Netherlands and Germany.

In 2014, the robot crossed more than 3,700 miles in Canada without incident.

Here is a photo of hitchBOT:

You can see a photo of the destroyed hitchBOT at this link:

Some people claim the video was faked.

What are your thoughts on any of this?

This is just more evidence of the decline of America.  We have become a nation of imbeciles expecting 24/7 entertainment and willing to do or endanger anything to get it.  When confronted and asked why someone did something like this the average answer for most of these mentally handicapped idiots is, "because I can".  They are too stupid to articulate why they destroy things, but they feel entitled to do so.

When severe punishment is mentioned, libs always say it is not the answer.  Well then what is?  I am sick of having to guard stuff 24/7 just to keep people from stealing or destroying it.  My grandson left his bike in our front yard for about 30 minutes while he came in to eat lunch.  I came out and it was gone.  The useless of the country have been convinced they are entitled to the same things as the productive.  They not only have a sense of entitlement, but also a sense of contempt and disrespect for those who have worked and saved to get something.

America has had it too easy for too long.  It is showing everyday in the attitudes and efforts displayed by so many of us.  Even our immigrants are changing.  People used to come here legally looking for opportunity.  When they got here they were proud, happy and productive.  They built their lives through hard work and discipline.  Now they come in droves illegally expecting everything for nothing.  When they get any resistance, they are angry.  They feel they are owed not only a living, but a rich lifestyle paid for by the taxpayers.  Sadly they didn't learn this in their own country.  They learned it courtesy of the attitude of people already here, including many born here.

Well, if you leave your brand new mountain bike on the side of the road with a note asking any passer by to deliver the bike across country, what are the chances it'll arrive safely?

I know it made it around three other countries but the U.S. is a completely different ball game.

Maybe if they'd issued HitchBOT a concealed carry permit and a .45 1911 Automatic, he might have made it.  ;D

Seriously though, why are Canadian researchers letting loose partially animated robotics on U.S. highways unattended edit: in the first place? I'd suggest the fact it wasn't destroyed in the other 3 experiments as nothing more than pure dumb luck.

This is the point I bring up when people talk of laws in other countries as proof the same laws would work here.   The US and it's culture is totally different.

A 24-year-old woman stopped a rape near trendy McCarren Park in Greenpoint by giving her attacker 20 bucks, cops said.

The woman was walking near Leonard Street and Bayard Street around 11:20 p.m. Saturday when the creep grabbed her by the neck and fondled her genitals, according to police. The sicko told the terrified woman “I’m going to have sex with you” as he assaulted her, cops said.

The 24-year-old then offered the fiend money not to rape her, which he agreed to. The two walked to a nearby ATM and the woman paid off her would-be rapist with just $20, police said.
The woman was not seriously injured in the attack and refused medical attention at the scene, according to cops.

The suspect is a black male. He was still at large Thursday night, cops said

That was a creative and effective response.  I hope it won't encourage this scumbag to make a living off the Danegeld though.

He might not need any financing. His business isn't at all capital intensive. But if he keeps this up eventually the cops will nail him and send him off to prison.  Ironically, he could keep up his activities while there, but he would be paid mainly in cans of mackerel or green dot cards.

Wow dude.  Are you bored?  Don't you live on an island with a nice beach?  You should take up surfing the waves instead of the net.  It is probably healthier.   :-)

Do you think I need to send you copies of my post first for editorial approval?  Do you respond to each line of every post?  I prefer to think I am allowed to skim, pick and choose what I want.  Not everything in every post is something I care to respond to.  Brass can suggest anything he wants.  You didn't see me arguing with him did you?

I don't think making it through the other experiments was all dumb luck.  Maybe I am right, maybe not.  I think a lot of it is the people here love to vandalize.  I think they have less respect for other people's property in America than in many other countries.  In fact I sometimes think many Americans are just looking for things to destroy for fun.  I think a lot of this is a lack of punishment if they are caught.

None of that makes any difference in what I said.  I said the point I bring up, is the US is culturally different from other countries, and the laws there may not work here.  I said there is no proof laws established for different countries that have a different cultural background will work in other countries.  If you don't agree that's your business.

New crop of incidents from Florida:

Quote
MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING TICKETS TO WATCH HIM BEAT UP FAT PEOPLE

With the growing popularity of both fat shaming and illegal backyard fights, one budding entrepreneur had the idea to combine the two to reel in some cash.

But the business plan was derailed when police bought one of Lebron Brown’s tickets and then arrested Brown for organizing an illegal fight.

Allegedly, Brown had paid 12 morbidly obese people (several wheelchair bound, one with Down syndrome and two women) $25 each to let him beat them one at a time in front of a crowd.

Participants were told they could fight back, but that under no circumstances were they allowed to win, and that they would have to stay in the ring until they were beaten unconscious.

“People could have gotten seriously hurt if this event had transpired,” a spokesman from the Palmetto Bay Police Department said. “I commend our officers for stopping this.”

Brown sold tickets on the street for $10 each and police believe he had sold roughly 300 in less than a week.

Of course there is violence resulting from a domestic disturbance, but this incident from Daytona Beach had an unusual cause:

We try to find crazy crimes in other states, really, but Florida just won’t stop outdoing everybody else.  37-year-old Yanilca Ortiz-Burgos really wanted her boyfriend to give her some drunken morning sex, but he refused and she took action and stabbed him in the belly.

Here's one that isn't from Florida:

Police made a routine traffic stop early Thursday morning and got more than they bargained for when Roy Tilbott, 51, stepped out of his El Camino for a field sobriety test and Casper police noticed several eyeballs slide from his right pant leg onto the road.

Fortunately, they weren't human eyeballs. They were cow eyeballs that Mr. Tilbott took from his job at a slaughterhouse.  The slaughterhouse apparently required all such scraps to be disposed of. Mr. Tilbott enjoyed the taste of cow eyeballs and believed that they helped his erectile dysfunction. Accordingly, he devised this decidedly unhygienic method of smuggling the eyeballs out of the slaughterhouse.

What an idiot.  Everyone knows that eyeballs don't help erectile dysfunction.  He needs Rocky Mountain Oysters for that.

She gets a lot of responses:

John Nesmeth is famous for luring in sexual predators by pretending to be under age girls on Craigslist. John, 33, recently posted an ad posing as a naïve and broke Russian model willing to trade services for a place to stay. He was purposely generic about what those services could be, outside of mentioning his subject was good at cooking, instead leaving it up to the men to propose an arrangement. He states in the ad that the girl is 15.

Immediately after posting the ad, his inbox was flooded with men all to willing to help. Below is the original ad along with screenshots and transcriptions of some of the responses.

Here is the ad, which contains a photo of a lovely teenaged looking girl:

URGENT: Russian Model needs place to live, can trade services

Hello, I just arrived to los angeles from Russia to pursue my modeling career, but have run out of money and need a place to stay. Please tell me if there is anything I can do for free room and board until I can get on my feet.

I am pretty good cook. But provide me a proposal of what things I can do. Also tell me a little bit about yourself.

I have pretty good English, 15 years old, and like to go dancing and have fun.

Please contact me ASAP. really need to get off street. Attached is one of my modeling pictures. My hair is shorter now!

You can probably guess the nature of responses she received.

The link above shows a number of responses to the ad. If you read them I suggest skipping response #7.
