Survey Results - Second Question

(1/4) > >>

Admin:
Results for this question are derived from the following questions in the survey:

A007: What was your age when you married?
A021: What was your spouse's age when you married?

Segregation of results according to gender, and we can derive the average age difference in those responding to the survey.

So the question in the poll is:

What is the average age difference between men and women in cross-cultural marriages?

William3rd:
However, what I believe overall is 6-10 years older for the male. What I have is a wife who is 16 years younger. . .

Mark Davis:
I have a thought for a follow up question.  If these are what we think the overal average age gaps are - could we then follow up with everyone answering what the actual age difference is for each of us specifically.

It might be interesting to compare what we think is the average age gap compared to the actual numbers within own micro community.

Mark,

Take a look at this link -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=5455.0 - for a collection of polls taken over the years here.

And related to your specific question, I think this poll addresses it -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=1818.0 - and the table at the end (http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=1818.msg120775#msg120775) summarized the results.

In that particular poll, we have more than 100 members participate - which is a VERY good response rate.

When we look at the data from the survey, we have more than 2,000 responses, and from a MUCH broader range of respondents, hence, the survey should be a MUCH more accurate representation of the real situation.

Does this address what you were trying to get at?

WOW!  What a treasury!  I'm new here, but I'm so impressed by what you've done.

I look forward to going through some of these.  This stuff fascinates me to no end.

Thanks!

Mark
