My How Time Flies
« on: January 09, 2023, 09:03:42 AM »
Been quite awhile but figured I stop in to say "Hi!" and to say that Elena and I just had our 18th anniversary. The fact that she still puts up with me is a tribute to her patience and ability to forgive (or perhaps she's just crazy... :) ).

Sergei graduated from OSU in December and went right into a software engineer position with a major company making more money to start than I do.

Hope all are well and staying safe and sane with all that's going on.

Good work to catzenmouse and Hammer !!

Wife and I passed the 8 year marriage mark in December 2022.

But we are counting 19 years (coming up in May) since we met briefly in 2004, in order to sound more 'solid.'  :-)

A thread with three names from the past.  Feels good to know the FSUW endeavor is successful.

ML, I saw your continuing thread about living the dream with your UW.  Keep it up (literally.....not trying to make a joke).

That is nice to hear Ken.  I have met Ken, Elena and Sergi ages ago and rank them as some of the nicest people I have ever met.  I am glad to hear everyone is doing well.  Sergi was probably around 8 or so when I met him, so time really does fly.

Our news isn't as good.  VWRW and I are now divorced as of about a month ago.  We were together for 15 years and they were 15 good years.  We are still friends.  Actually, she still works in my business one day a week, and I dog sit for her when she travels.  I do think our age difference did become a factor eventually.  I turned 81 a month ago and I think as I got up there, she began to become concerned she would end up being a caregiver.  We are both doing well, and I don't think either of us has any regrets.

Ray, thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear about your marriage split.

I could be facing the same situation, if and when my much younger wife decides she does not want to become a caregiver.

But to be truthful, several of us here never thought your marriage would last this long.

I can believe that, and I am not all that sure I expected it to last as long as it did.

Good to hear you are well, TG.. 15 years is 15 years. You and VWRW had a great run and surpassed most expectations.  Next time you'll make 20.  8)

Congrats Ken on the 18th anniversary!

Wow, what a lot of old names I remember. Just stopped in to look around and see if some of the old regulars were still here and it looks like some are.

Ken & Wife,

Happy anniversary! Time flies. It was not long ago that "10 years" was considered a long anniversary. My wife and I are looking at twenty years this summer. Hope you are well.........and wish you many more happy years.
