As many experts have noted in interviews, it's all up to the virus and the virus isn't talking. One of the problems with travelling is outbreaks among nations are staggered. Another problem is mandatory quarantines nations put on visitors. If you find an opening to fly over there, buy your tickets right before you fly. If you buy them too far ahead, by the time your flight happens, conditions may change. Seems like flight restrictions and cancellations around the world change on a daily basis.

Next year for anything approaching normal, maybe.
But hey... you can fly just about anywhere in the US still, prices are cheap. Or book a cruise.

Too early to tell.. depends on if deaths go up if the foot is taken off the gas..
I expect there'll be agreed medical certification stds to prove you've antibodies present - but not an asymptomatic carrier ...?

Russia closes border with Belarus over coronavirus

"We have also decided to close the border with Belarus for the movement of people and we have made a range of other preventive steps," Mishustin said. "We will continue making every effort to protect our country from this new threat, we will be proactive and will take exhaustive measures in order to first of all prevent a mass spread of the coronavirus," he said.

Hundreds of Americans are stranded in Russia after the last flight scheduled to leave the country was canceled as they sat on the plane Friday.
Aeroflot flight 102, which was scheduled to fly from Moscow to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, was preparing to depart when the pilot announced that the trip had been called off.
“A couple of people just started shouting,” said Joe Democritos, an English teacher trying to get back to New Jersey. “They were saying ‘I refuse to leave the plane. I will not leave the plane,’ in Russian, then they got the police to escort people off the plane.”
The U.S. Embassy in Moscow issued several alerts this week encouraging citizens to book the Aeroflot flight, noting that it “may be the last flight available this month” due to strict travel restrictions from the Russian government.

The passenger plane was fully loaded with Americans on the tarmac ready to take off and they didn't let the plane go. Guess who's got to pay for the chartered flight? Thanks Russia!

Why would these people wait till last flight out of Russia???
It is almost three weeks ago where there was decree that borders would be limited and foreigners will not be allowed to enter. My guess is since there was no quarantine at time they would finish their itineraries(trip).
In last week and half, there is self isolation nationwide. So people now decided they should leave?
I would have certainly left by March 18 when Russia closed borders or on March 23 when flights were being suspended. Hard to believe in last 2 weeks no flights were scheduled to leave Russia to USA.

Re-read my answer. I will explain it as if you were a bit slow.
My answer in much fewer words was as follows: The number of passengers flying today is only 10% of the number flying one year ago. Thus, the public currently does not feel it is safe and necessary to get on a airplane. I certainly am not thinking about booking a flight. This situation will change, and passenger traffic will start increasing. IMO this will be seen first in domestic flights, with international travel commencing after that (thus, giving the OP my opinionregarding his question).
Moby, I don't believe you were the "slow kid" in the school who had trouble understanding the lessons. Maybe were you the "wild kid" who did not pay attention, but I don't believe it. No, you were the class "smart aleck." looking for mistakes in others so as to humiliate them in public.
You do this a lot at RWD, and it entertains only you. Worse, you frequently are wrong, such as in this case. So leave the smarty pants character to someone who actually is knowledgeable.

They didn't know when the last flight was going to happen. But you have a point, with the current events, people should've came home faster, like a month ago.
