SC came back from Thailand when I told her I was finally divorced and we could make a plan - at last..
I NEVER expected to have to wait over five years and SC had 'acquaintances' who suggested I might just be stringing her along ..(I guess they met one of our married members who can't keep away from dating sites to help newbies ? )
SC has never been married and does not want to be married in Russia !
So, where to tie the knot and what is required in 2019?
Cyprus - it is an EU nation and the marriage docs are in ENGLISH (and Greek)
1/ Visit ZAKS and get a 'no impediment to be married doc' - *I* thought that would take days - but it was 800 Roubles and a 2 hour wait
2/ I need to get such a doc if I marry as an Irishman or Swear an Affidavit in a Cyprus Court if a Brit
3/ SC's no impediment' docs MUST be translated by the Cypriot govt translator
4/ Pay 130 Euros for a licence and present Passports and Birth Certs
For SC finding a dress ( that I will not see ) is the priority
-
Why doesn't she want to be married in Russia?
Will you reside together in Cyprus after marriage?
It will be her first and only marriage. Spend the money and make it special and romantic ceremony and celebration. Invite her family.

Don't believe in a conspiracy. Her friends said such because you did string her along. RW hold to such guidelines as do American women.

Why would you post SO stupid?
1/ I made it clear to SC - it was in my dating profile that, I was separated - and I filled her in on my commitment to my step-son - until he had finished full-time education and got permanent residency
2/ Did either of us know V would 'disappear', refuse to sign a financial separation agreement and then delay the divorce at all stages ?
It is better to ask questions - rather than be a silly BillyB
We shall delight in proving certain folk wrong..
She doesn't want to be married in Russia as it is a pure civil ceremony and they will not marry ( bless) me - a divorcee - in a Church
I am already CY resident - so YES - she will live in CY
What family of hers should we invite ? Can you explain how to raise folks from the dead ..We are in our 6/7 th decades, respectively - only one parent able to make it between us ..
Do you want an invite ? ;)

Congratulations :clapping:
SC is a women who has her priorities in order!

Congratulations.
The Russian Orthodox Church does allow divorcees to marry in the Church. The ceremony is a little different, but not significantly. One does have to be Christian to marry in the Orthodox Church, though not necessarily Orthodox.
ETA - There is a wave of nationalism, though. Marrying a foreigner in a Church there may not be such a great idea. :-\

Why would you post SO stupid?
I was writing from her friends' perspective.
Perception is stronger than reality, especially to women. I imagine your future bride had no understanding how divorces can be prolonged in the West. She only had your word, which I am sure she wants to believe with all of her heart. I have learned that RW (especially their friends) have a "skeptic" alarm that functions 24-7. And SC's explanation of divorce law would likely not convince them.
Let's start over. Your word to SC is now proven pravda. Congratulations to you and best wishes to SC.
What family of hers should we invite ?
Other than you, she will have no one with whom to celebrate the great day. You instead will have your thousand cousins in attendance (if you are indeed Irish and drink Jameson whiskey).
Do you want an invite ? ;)
Sure. I am old enough to be father of the bride, so I can march down the aisle and give her away at the ceremony. ;D

How are you going to marry her if you can not see the wedding dress? Will she be invisible?
-
Ok..cannot see...until the day ? ;)
-
Congrats!
Get married in Thailand. It is quite common, I have a relative who did that. It sounds like your fiance won't say no to going back to Thailand.
-
I did suggest 'doing it' in Thailand .. but she wants to 'do the deed' in an EU nation ... probably wiser and it is warming up....
Ooops ...just checked the UK is warmer than Cyprus
-

They are getting married El Natural, the dress if for the festivities after ;D

Hmm, good to see my typos are bringing light--heartedness to this topic
All of a sudden rings and wedding dresses become important ..
I guess SC will never wear more clothes than on the big day ... she talking a veil and long dress ?!!
-
So, it appears I can see wedding dresses and give an opinion ... but madam will decide ..

But..
I do not know what will be the final dress )

-
IMO #8 looks best.
She looks great and very, very happy!
-
Option 7
(http://i.imgur.com/4z2RRQx.jpg)
Moby, notice how much, much, much better her face looks without her hair draped around it.?
But probably a losing point, because she seems to prefer the hair draped face look.
-
@ML "But, but I have ages lines around my eyes"
This is a woman ))
I love it when she puts her hair up..But I only see that indoors.. Apparently one ear sticks out more )))
-
OMG
I thought this was a done deal..
SC is loving trying on dresses
Option 9
(http://i.imgur.com/0bQVWtp.jpg)
and 10
(http://i.imgur.com/rfC1p0s.jpg)
-
She looks great. But how can they have all these options in her size?
-
May be all RU women in Sochi are US size 2-4 ?
I even passed on your comment about the hair..
SC fell yrsterday and has a huge cut on her chin and on the 'webbed' park of the hand between thumb and finger..((
It does not seem to be putting her off.
-
I do not know if I can take much more of this ..
Can we do this every month in a new dress ?
Option 11

-
For someone with great shape like your Sveta, the sheath wedding dress looks best of all.
-
She will say, " My shoulders are too wide for this type of dress" ... ;))
-
All of them look good, but I think Option 7 is most flattering to her figure.

I'd agree but within seconds of saying, "GREAT" - she found marks that would not come off ((
-
Ah, just found this post you mentioned, well what can I say, this is great news Mobers! Congratulations!!! You'll soon be able to take us through the new divorce laws in the UK :D

There's a positive thought, Trench.. Has this post got anything to do with my point that you never listen ..even to FSU W ..and are still failing?;)
-
Congrats MSB, choice of the marriage dress is a unique moment for a woman.
-
So true and thanks, 'Pat
-
Moby, Perhaps you and SC are doing this wrong. What if she goes down the aisle 11 times, each time in a different dress?

Trench, it is sad that you can only confirm to RWD what a low life and worthless pile of cow dung you are.

Think she'll happily have 10 reception parties - each one in a different dress ? ;)
