exiting Ukraine with mortage
« on: July 21, 2011, 11:52:00 AM »
Does anyone know if there is a law in Ukraine that you cannot leave the country before paying off a mortage?

Would someone at the airport in Kyiv stop you?

Do you need some kind of form from tax inspection?

What if you went from Simferopol to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines, then Istanbul to Chicago on a seperate ticket that you do not show at the airport in Simferopol?

Is there a law in Ukraine that prevents you from renting out a flat, either on a lease or by the day or week, if there is a mortage on the property?

I can't say positively there is no law against it (in Ukraine, who knows any of the laws for sure?) but I've done it and have a dozen or so relatives and friends who have done so as well.

No problems.
Pick and choose carefully among the advice offered and consider the source carefully. PM, Skype or email if you care to chat or discuss

It most certainly is done.
I call on Ukrainians that do have a mortgage and esp. Odessa residents to join this discussion.

Wayne-

how would *they* know?

they=anyone in a sercurity or screening position at the airport

Its not like * i have a mortgage*  is tattoed on anyones head or stamped in any travel document.

I have no idea if its a law,
and how could anyone know if yiou were leaving temporarily or permantely?
One might run into trouble on return?

but again unless its some offence that would get reported to police or officials,
it seems far fetched tio worry over it.Plus maybe the persons intent would be to return, work, and pay it?

laws regarding mortgages and an individuals  responcibilty to pay their debt,  might include some legalize about
not leaving the country with intent to default?

I do not follow your logic at all.

IF, there IS some law, and some WAY for authorities at the airport to recogize travelers breaking such a law

then flying out of Simferopol to Istanbul is -
 leaving the country ?

The second leg of the journey to Chicago seems a mute point ??

unless your question is:
*is there a law against traveling to the USA when the person has an outstanding mortgage*
 :)
