Advance Parole

Very very strange. My wife's Advance Parole was accepted through the ending date of 12/14/06. Sadly, my step son's was missing like his fingerprint letter. He did not receive an "A" number from immigration because he is too young to work and get an EAD. I was told to get him an EAD because he is not in the system yet and until this happens they will most likely ignore his 485 and 131. Can this be true? They have my payments for my wife and son, why do they ignore him? I have called once, been to the office once and sent a letter. Would an attorney or congressman speed up this process to get my stepson on board?
