Took it from Ukrainian, read it somewhere but since BUK meant nothing for me at the time can not now remember when or where:-(

Since it is claimed by many that it is Russia supplied militants with weaponry should be Kiev be concentrating on locking the borders instead of bombing the towns lol...they had three months to do that.

Much too easy and involves far too much logic. They could could've also been escorted by Amnesty International or any other independent monitors to ensure safe passage.

But then, that would suck up the fog and lend clarity into all of these so soon...

No, they did not have that much time, and there was no reason to believe Russia would be involved, in any event.  Military action was delayed until after the election.

There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them.

I do resent the fact that most people never question or think for themselves. I don't want to be normal. I just want to find some other people that are odd in the same ways that I am. OP.

Ranetka,

It's a bit difficult to lock the borders when pro-Russian separatists are shooting you in the back from behind and shooting down aircraft left, right and centre.

Hence the need to secure the rear by wiping the Pro-russian separatist scum/criminals/mercenaries out first..along with the criminal local Police who are supporting them in order to line their pockets.

Just saying it like it is.

Its also difficult for Ukraine to close its borders when Russia allows convoys of tanks, APC's and other military hardware to cross over from Russia to Ukraine. Gee, I wonder where are Russia's border guards during all this?

From what I've read and watched via multiple international news sources today, if this was indeed a missile, it will be VERY easy to determine where on the ground it came from.  Then it will be a matter of checking to see who was in control of that particular piece of ground at that moment.  Despite being an unashamed Kiev supporter to this point, I think either Kiev or Moscow are going to crash and burn themselves over the next few days.  Anyone remember KAL007?   :-\

Okay Mr Prime Minister, now that nearly 30 of our countrymen have been murdered by state sponsored terrorists, it's time to reverse your sagging popularity back home by declaring war on that third-world country responsible.

he does not. He says they soot down aN-26, and that there is some info about another shut down plane, they think it's sukharev. He says nothing about who shoot the other plane down.

That's because the fcuking bastard did NOT have access to information available to..., er, countries guiding CIVILIAN planes over their airspace. DUH!

mendy has posted that LifeNews, which he describes as "Kremlin friendly" had reporters embedded with the terrorists.  They released video of the plane crash, and reported it as the downing of a Ukrainian military transport plane.  They even had a youtube video up.  Then, after Ukrainians reported the loss of a commercial airliner, that youtube video was quickly yanked.

As most Russian would say: Video? What video?

Yes, I noticed that too. But why not concede a goal to the Russophobes? But then again, last time I checked, the Stock marked dropped a little more in Moscow than the others. But that don't mean anything as far as economics go. It's not the Stock marked that decides the well-being of an economy in the short run. Look at USA, overpriced Stocks, less and less produce for export and ever increasing Foreign debt. They make it work for now, but not forever as their Foreign policy shows.

The Dow Jones finished slightly up today.  Commodities were down slightly, though.

Yeah, just keep going up Dow Jones, that much greater the fall eventually. Actually, I read today that one investor here adviced People to go to American Stocks in this situation. Flee to safety, haha. Seriously, it might work in the short run.... but

Commodities, gold and silver are heavily manipulated in the paper marked to maintain the illusion that the US dollar is still as good as gold. Hasn't been since 1971 of course, but there is little Choice in the world as the US dollar is the reserve currency of the world. But then there's something called the BRICS countries which Putin recently visited. This is the real threat for the empire as I see it. Gradually use other currencies than the US dollar in trade and the US will lose it's free ride that it has abused so gravely.

Yes, because the almighty real and <snort> ruble are going to take down the dollar.      On one of my early trips to Russia I stupidly left with a couple hundred dollars in rubles thinking I could easily exchange them later.  The exchange in London told me, "rubles are not real money, you cannot exchange them outside of Russia."  Most of them still sit in my desk drawer as I forgot to send them with my wife on her most recent trip.  In any case the value has dropped so much they're better as souvenirs for the kids.

None of which is relevant to my post, which was a correction of the assertion that the stock market was down today.  It finished up, albeit slightly.

Nope. Most probably by an American Jet fighter with a cloaking device. The USAF has been working with the Klingon Empire for the last few years developing the technology.

But you cannot believe what you read in today's extremely biased American media.

that was . . .brilliant

Exactly!  I had about the same amount left over when leaving Russia in 2006, but didn't have time to change them before flying out.  I couldn't change them in Bangkok or here at home, so they stayed in a drawer until I went back in 2010.  The irony was that they were actually worth slightly more than four years earlier.  :o

Apart from a drop this year, the Ruble has been pretty stable since 2005.
