Dear JayH, shut up with your anti-Russian paranoia, please... it's really tiresome.

If we take into account that the strongest athletes were not invited by Olympic Committee without explaining, and Russia is represented by not the strongest athletics, the 6th place looks not too bad http://pyeongchang.olympicchannel.com/medals/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=fb-post&utm_campaign=social-owned_ResultsMedals
By the way, I hope for one more gold from hockey team, women have chances in skiing also.  :P

There have now been 2 positive tests by Russians in Korea -- a disgrace -again.
Russia ran a state sponsored cheating program -fact.
Russia without cheating -- struggled to be competitive --fact

Look back to Sochi and your comments then -- and all the time the Russians WERE CHEATING.
They should have been banned for a decade --and the individuals for life/

are there the only doping cases in the Olympics?  Lets ban Slovakia and Japan also.
In the Krushelnytsky case there are a lot of questions, we'll see what the investigation shows... the second case ... the girl has received her minute of glory and, probably, good money. Rodchenkov is blaming British athletes now, Zeppelt is going to make new movie about asthmatic Norwegians... so, JayH, don't be blind and deaf idiot.  8)

My Olympic idol for today is an American girl represented Hungary, who took the last place in the ski halfpipe. The result is explained by the fact that the girl didn't know how to ski (she got into the Olympics using imperfection of the selection procedure). And in general, this is the best Olympics that I remember. Better will be the one I will not even know that it was ...  ;D

Although the Russian flag didn't fly, they stood and sang the Russian national anthem which is more respectful than what some American football players do.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

There is no one event that matters the most.  But if it did, it would be in male competition, not female.  More speed, more power, usually, more athleticism.

After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

You need to know what is at stake before commenting  ;D Otherwise, it looks silly.

Nothing is at stake.  These are sports events.  They are not going to stop wars, or feed the starving, or cure cancer.  In a month, it will be old and forgotten news.

'respectful' but ultimately illegal -therefore NOT respecting the rules that allowed them to BE there
