Marina loves classical music and a little bit of jazz and rock.  I'm more classic rock, but I grew up during the disco era.  We're going on a road trip later this month, and while in the Ozark Mountains we'll be out of range of radio stations and XM satellite.  I thought I'd make a mix tape to play on the car stereo.  I wonder what she'll think of this:

Really? Where is it you're going? Occasional blind spots with the XM but, nothing to stop your reception though and regular terrestrial works even in the Ozarks. Make the tape guy  :D

If you're looking for 'popped' classical music, you might want to add some baroque pieces by Ronḍ Veneziano, an all-female orchestra which has produced 70 albums in the years since its founding in 1979:

Eureka Springs at a downtown B&B.  I drove from my daughter's place in Rogers to Harrison then back to LR a couple of weeks ago, and I was surprised at the number of dead zones for XM on highway 62.  At my own home in Little Rock I get a lot of fade from big trees, especially in cloudy weather.  I think my radio is probably not "the best" if you know what I mean.

As far as radio stations, well my old Fayetteville favorite KKEG is gone into the sunset.  I'll do a Google search later and look for some classical and classic rock stations, but my radio also has a USB port, so I'll be covered one way or another  ;) .

I believe you meant, "How about some latin music dancing?"    :D   There are far better examples of Latin music.   Which man is you?

I could never do that dance if a teenager as I would have gotten a boner and could not conceal it dancing so openly.   Jamaicans take it to another level.

So you did not like Joe Walsh?    ;)   In Thailand I watched a pirated Eagles concert DVD with my wife.  She enjoyed it and found it interesting until Joe Walsh did a solo.  She thought him ridiculous.

The kizomba. Except it was not known as kizomba and it was quite a bit faster. But the choreographed togetherness....

An unusually playful and carefree Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, in the 3rd Movement (Allegro con fuoco) of his Piano Concerto No. 2 in G major, Op. 44, particularly in the recurring theme of this Ronḍ:

Pianist: Konstantin Scherbakov
Orchestra: Russian Philharmonic Orchestra
Conductor: Dmitry Yablonsky

Yeah, he can be loony at times, well, most of the time. Here he was hamming it up with " The Colonel". I see it as them mocking how some guitarists act on stage.
More Joe

Was he wearing a feathered boa in that concert?

You may want to stir the wife clear of other sarcastic social commentators like
Zappa

Yep, a kazoo...

And The Tubes

I recall he wore a blue suit with several large gold stars.  My wife is very artistic and makes quick decisions, so just his attire and silly facial expressions made her point her thumbs down.   Plus her English is limited, so she could not appreciate "Life's Been Good to Me."

I applaud Joe for recovering from his addictions.  He seems like the type who would have died early in his life, and he was certainly headed that way.

Explain it to her, she may get a kick out of it.  ;)

I love those haunting Eastern and Asian melodies and these ladies are from Kazakhstan.

Текила (Tequila) with На восток “On to the East”

Дильназ Ахмадиева (Dilnaz Ahkmadieva) hails from Almaty the former capital of Kazakhstan.  A beautiful young lady with loads of talent!
Here she sings Белые ночи, “White Nights.”
!

This song, also by Dilnaz Ahkmadieva, got some airplay in the USA.

Given that Bulgaria is part of the EU and so close to Russia in a Cyrillic language and culture, you'd think the music to be European sounding. However, just as Russia is the largest Asian country in the world (51%), Bulgarian music reflects it's roots and neighbors which include Turkey, Macedonia, Greece and Serbia.
