Have you ever thought of using the internet  to find   answers to your questions ??

Just south of Seattle in the cities, Kent, Renton, and Auburn are about 5000+ FSU people living here. Mostly Ukrainians. Russian food stores are in abundance and some cafes have popped up. Churches are in abundance too but they aren't Russian Orthodox. Most of the families in this area practice the Christianity the Soviets wanted to get rid of.

I live in the Seattle area and can say that there are Russians/FUS's all over, though the Kent-Auburn area probably has quite a few.  Housing and such is more affordable there.

There is a Seattle-Russain website in Russian at:

Yes, there are many FSU ppl in Western and Eastern Washington. There are 3 distinct groups of them: older immigrants been here since leaving Harbin China, they are the ones who attend the Orthodox church. Jewish immigrants, located on Eastside of King County. And lastly, most numbers are Ukrainian refugees who were accepted here in USA because of religious persecution. They are Baptists and Pentecostals and live primarily in Kent/Auburn, Snohomish county and Eastern Washingtons.
As for Russians, the majority of them are H1 visa holders who are men and are computer professionals.
There are tons of Russian stores, most named "European" not Russian though!

According to the King County website, in 2006 there were about 7,200 Ukrainians and about 5,500 Russians in the county.

That's about right. Easily over 100,000 in 3 counties.

MIcrosoft? Lol. You've got to go back further than that. Ronald Reagan gets the credit for bringing the Christian FSU people here the Soviets did not want. Those who came first began to sponsor their families and those families sponsored more and repeat.

Speaking of the FSU, I'm flying there in a few hours. :) I'll be back early next month and post an update after taking a break from the forum.

I guess I was speaking from my personal experience - I only know the first ones, but not the latter...
