In May 1989, Flatley set a Guinness Book world record for tapping speed at 28 taps per second, and subsequently broke his own record in 1998 with 35 taps per second :o.

Sorry, but no human can move their feet that fast!  In any case, how could you possibly count them?

You are quite right, I was misled by Wikipedia >:(:

Again, though, that's more than 20 taps per second!  I repeat my earlier post:

TARANTA
« Reply #1583 on: August 26, 2017, 06:01:16 PM »
A lively dance from Southern Italy (Puglie), somewhat recently rediscovered and promoted.

It was what women bitten by the Tarantula spider would dance to wear off its venom :D. To the Neapolitan Tarantella is ascribed a similar origin. Originally, they were accompanied by tambourines only.

I agree with kiwi.  All that crap people claim about X number of taps per second is pure horse manure. 2 or 3 taps per second max . . . if that.

Aida Nikolaychuk is from Ukraine's X Factor season 3. Excellent voice. First video is her first performance and she sang so well the judges thought she lip sync'd to the original. Second video is my favorite of all her songs she did on the show and elsewhere. Shows the range and quality of her voice.

Wow!  Just WOW!!!!  The songs weren't bad, either.  :cheesy:

AND.... she's in an age-gap relationship - her husband is 12 years YOUNGER than her.

Money is not the root of all evil but the love of money is and it's apparent, Sandro is very evil. But not evil enough because he forgot about AC/DC's song Money Talks. He might want to find a good rap song to include in his medley too. Don't discriminate.

Sorry 8), but I DO discriminate as far as rap is concerned, for me the most artless form of music - if it can really be called music, at that ::).

Interesting.

I'd like to add two notables from my musical persuasion:

Money (That's what I want) - cover by The Beatles 1963
Money for Nothing - Performed by Dire Straits  1985

Thank you. Actually, I had considered both, but did not include them in my medley because they were either too long-winded or, IMHO, lacked a sufficiently distinctive melody line.

I can understand that and agree a great deal. Money for nothing broke out of the distortion phase and predated the power chords. I'm even surprised Sting (if not for sheer commercial value) mixed himself in with his silly one liner.

As for the fab four's cover, a major and a root. Not much else. George liked the original so much when they performed it live they decided to record it. He, along with John/Paul, are fairly good songwriters so not sure why this got into their radar other than their affinity for R&B and Blues during that era. It could've been better despite the lack of melody with limited verse e. g . Canon (D) easily proves that.

But listening to the tunes in your list, I'd love to hear the finished version of your medley.

It was finished when I announced it ;). It's long enough now (7'+), so I do not plan to enlarge it any further.

However, I like orchestrating medleys, putting together tunes with some musical or thematic affinity - or common authorship, as most of them there now - thus new ones will be forthcoming some time in the future ;D.

I tried to do that yesterday after clicking the link and reading the instruction but nothing happened. Twice. So I thought it wasn't finished. That's before I posted my previous post.

I'll try again today. It may well have been just me  :-[
