Title: Bizarre activities, most of which took place in Florida
Post by: Larry1 on July 28, 2015, 03:31:00 PM
If you've lived in The Sunshine State you have undoubtedly seen a lot of bizarre activities on the local news. I'll never forget the fellow who died after winning a cockroach eating contest at a local business (I did not make this up).

Here is an example from a thread I created a few weeks ago:

http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=19854.0

I can hardly go a week without seeing some Florida incident in the news. The website "The Smoking Gun", which captures bizarre arrests, even has a tag for arrests in Florida. Here is the most recent story:

Quote
Cops: Man Battered Female Relative Over "The Way She Was Cooking Hard Boiled Eggs"

A Florida man is facing a felony charge after allegedly battering a female relative because he “did not agree with the way she was cooking hard boiled eggs,” police report.

Cory Lee Shinkman, 23, was collared last week following a confrontation in the St. Petersburg home he shares with the victim and other family members ...

http://thesmokinggun.com/buster/florida/man-battered-female-relative-over-hard-boiled-eggs-908731

Mr. Shinkman was taken to the Pinellas County jail, which I think is the same jail that the guy in the thread above who attacked the UW on the beach was taken to.  You might be surprised to learn that he has been arrested for battery previously.

I have heard about many causes of violent arguments but this is the first time I've read about one that began over the method of hard-boiling eggs.

Mr. Shinkman is probably a gourmand and has strong feelings about his preferred egg cooking technique. In culinary circles there is some disagreement over the best method. One of the principal areas of disagreement pits those who advocate starting the eggs in cold water and bringing them to a boil with those who advocate starting the eggs in already-simmering water.

If you're interested in this you can read more at this link:

http://www.seriouseats.com/2014/05/the-secrets-to-peeling-hard-boiled-eggs.html

Here is another story from The Sunshine State:

http://thesmokinggun.com/buster/assault/man-busted-for-urinating-on-pregnant-girlfriend-890732

And another story about an unusual domestic disturbance that illustrates why you should tag all your items of personal property with your name so that there won't be any arguments about who they belong to if you split with your significant other:

Not very bizarre but pretty damn cool. Sunken Spanish ship with over one million dollars in gold found. One of twelve ships that were sunk in the voyage when hit by a hurricane. And this is why it's called the Gold Coast. Found in only 15 feet of water right offshore.

That's why we keep all the really bad eggs in the Florida basket.

P.S. - It makes no difference, either cold or boiling water.  The determining factor is how long the eggs have remained at room temperature prior to boiling, or, even, how old they are since they were first laid.

Here is a news story about the guy who died after winning the cockroach eating contest:

Quote
A man who collapsed after winning a cockroach-eating contest last month at a Florida pet store choked to death, according to a Broward County Medical Examiner report released Monday.

Edward Archbold, 32, of West Palm Beach, and several other contestants signed up to eat a variety of insects at Ben Siegel Reptiles in Deerfield Beach on Oct. 6. After eating dozens of giant cockroaches, Archbold was declared the winner of an ivory-ball python.

Earlier in the night, he had also entered a superworm-eating contest ...

Let me get this straight - you win a contest by munching untold giant cockroaches, and your prize is a snake??????  Why not something useful - like  :usd: for instance?

1. That is correct.

2. It's SouthEast Florida. ;D  If anyone wants to learn more about the region read Tom Wolfe's novel, "Back To Blood". For light beach reading read any of the novels by Carl Hiassen set in SouthEast Florida. You might think Hiassen has an amazing imagination but a lot of the bizarre incidents in his novels are based on things that really happened there.

I always wonder about these stories.  People finding treasure?  Finding old signed copies of the Declaration of Independence?  Rare artifacts from the middle ages thought lost?

I had a buddy years ago who swore this stuff was off the books payoffs to spies.  He swore this stuff was taken from the national archives and the "discoveries" were just planted items to explain the new found riches and basically launder the cash.

Oddly he died in a fiery car crash late at night with no witnesses.  Coincidence?  Probably so.  But, food for thought.  I am not a big conspiracy theory guy, but things like that do excite the imagination.

This one looks pretty legit. Quite a few ships and planes sunk off the coast of Florida. There are still 11 more out there just from this fleet. You want a treasure story that makes your mind spin with conspiracy theories lookup the Father Crespi story.

This story isn't from Florida. It's from Ohio:

Quote
Phyllis Jefferson Stabbed Boyfriend In Groin For Eating All Her Salsa

Phyllis Jefferson's temper may be as hot as her salsa.

Police in Akron, Ohio, said Jefferson, 50, allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the groin with a pen Sunday evening after he ate all the salsa in their house, Cleveland.com reports.

Jefferson's boyfriend, Ronnie D. Bucker, 61, told police that he and the accused were arguing about the salsa consumption when she allegedly stabbed him with the pen.

The suspect then walked over to the TV and threatened to knock it on the floor, according to Ohio.com.

When Buckner grabbed the TV, Jefferson allegedly walked to the kitchen to grab a knife and used it to cut him in the stomach.

Jefferson fled the scene while Buckner called 911. Responding officers found him on the floor clutching his stomach, Fox8.com reports
.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/30/phyllis-jefferson-stabbed_n_6972648.html

Salsa has been more popular than ketchup in the US for more than two decades.

This story is from Florida though:

Quote
Flatulence leads to knife fight, arrest

It started when he farted.

An Immokalee woman who is accused of throwing a kitchen knife at her longtime boyfriend told detectives she became angry when he passed gas in her face while they were watching TV Tuesday night, according to an arrest report.

Deborah Ann Burns, 37, said when she confronted her 53-year-old boyfriend about the flatulence he told her to "shut up." The two began arguing and at some point ended up in the kitchen, deputies reported.

The boyfriend was later found outside the home on the 400 block of Gaunt Street with a small knife wound to his stomach, reports stated
.

There are more details at the links.

Both of these couples have a larger than usual age gap. The couple in the first story has an 11 year age gap and the couple in the second story has a 16 year age gap.

Cops: Woman, 40, Battered Live-In Beau During Beef Over How To Properly Fry Chicken

Meet Bahunti Williams.

According to cops, the Florida woman battered her live-in boyfriend during an argument over how she was frying chicken.

Williams, 40, and Christopher Waters were in their Bradenton apartment Sunday evening when the fried chicken dispute turned violent. Seen above, Williams “punched the victim with a closed fist over the left eye causing the skin to split open,” police reported. She also allegedly scratched Waters’s chest.

When cops arrived at the couple’s residence, Waters--who has been with Williams for nine years--said that he did not want to press charges.

Williams was busted for misdemeanor domestic battery and booked into the Manatee County jail, from which she was released yesterday. Williams’s rap sheet includes two prior domestic battery arrests, though neither resulted in a conviction
.

http://thesmokinggun.com/buster/battery/fried-chicken-battery-098731

Once again the police report doesn't say just what the argument was about. As a longtime fan of fried chicken I'm curious about this.

Here's another domestic fight over eggs:

Quote
Woman Arrested For Battering Live-In Boyfriend With Bowl Of Eggs Following Breakfast Beef

A dispute over the preparation of breakfast ended yesterday morning with a Florida woman under arrest for battering her live-in boyfriend with a bowl of raw eggs, police report.

Destini Oliver, 22, and Lorenzo Dixon, 23, quarreled Sunday in their Palmetto home over Oliver not wanting to cook breakfast, according to a police report.

The dispute turned physical when Oliver, seen above, allegedly “threw a bowl of raw eggs” at Dixon, striking him in the back
.

Hmmm, a lot of these stories involve arguments over food. I'll bet that food arguments are the number three cause of domestic battery, after sex/cheating and money.

This one at any rate:

Quote
police in Tallahassee, Florida received a 911 call from a Dollar General store reporting that a “black male juvenile” was “destroying” the business.

When officers arrived at the Crawfordville Road store, the suspect was being detained outside the front entrance. Inside, evidence of the boy’s rampage was strewn across the convenience store’s aisles.

For unknown reasons, the child--who did not appear to be in the company of an adult--spent several minutes knocking over displays and pushing merchandise off store shelves. The vandalism ended when the boy was accosted by a young man who pulled him out of the store and held the child until police arrived.

A 3:29 video of the Dollar General vandalism was posted early yesterday to Facebook by a male shopper who recorded part of the boy’s outburst (and who had items thrown at him by the juvenile).

On the video, seen above, the customer provides a profane play-by-play of the destruction, and repeatedly refers to the boy as a “jit,” street slang for an out-of-control youth. “Jit is going ham in dollar store. Believe that,” the man said at one point. “He need his ass whooped,” the narrator later added.

The video can be seen here. You might be surprised at how young he looks.

Not at all. I had a 10 and 13 year attempt to steal my car the other day. We had to run them down and hold them for the police. When the cops showed up they knew them by name. The 13 year old had a record of 23 arrests for crimes such as purse snatching, home burglary, theft and four stolen cars.

When you were holding them down, did you apply some pain and tell him he's going to get killed someday? Apparently the kid's parents and law haven't put enough scare into the kid to make him stop what he's doing. Now he's got 24 arrests on his record and recruited a 10 year old accomplice. My prediction is that he's not going to stop and going to cause a lot more innocent people pain through theft, violence and sexual assault before he gets locked up for a long time.

Nah, you can't smash kids that young. Last thing I need is a charge for hurting a minor. We chased them down and gently sat on them until the officers arrived. The officer told him he was going to end up dead though.

Apparently the kid's parents and law haven't put enough scare into the kid to make him stop what he's doing.

And that is the problem. Probably only has his mother around who cannot or does not want to control him. As a minor he faces no real repercussions. In my case the officers let him walk away and I saw the two walking down the street the next day. He had just served 21 days in juvie and was ready for more.

My prediction is that he's not going to stop and going to cause a lot more innocent people pain through theft, violence and sexual assault before he gets locked up for a long time.

The officers prediction was he would be gunned down on the streets before he turns eighteen. Or locked up permanently shortly after his birthday as all the points he is racking up will eventually count against him during sentencing. Hopefully nobody is seriously hurt before then.

Florida Man really, really wants to force a jury to watch his sex tape
Jurors may get an eyeful if defendant shows sex tapes in court

The South Florida man wants to introduce sex tapes and intimate photographs of himself and his wife as evidence in his criminal trial to try to prove that his marriage was real and not just undertaken for immigration purposes.

The trial of Rogerio Scotton — which starts Thursday in federal court in Fort Lauderdale — has nothing to do with sex.

The Brazilian-born former professional racecar driver, who lived in Boca Raton and Margate before his arrest in March 2012, is charged with 27 counts of mail fraud and two counts of lying to immigration authorities.

Naked paranoids: Florida's flakka problem

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — One man ran naked through a Florida neighborhood, tried to have sex with a tree and told police he was the mythical god Thor. Another ran nude down a busy city street in broad daylight, convinced a pack of German shepherds was pursuing him.

Two others tried separately to break into the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. They said they thought people were chasing them; one wound up impaled on a fence.

The common element to these and other bizarre incidents in Florida in the last few months is flakka, an increasingly popular synthetic designer drug. Also known as gravel and readily available for $5 or less a vial, it's a growing problem for police after bursting on the scene in 2013.

Somehow I doubt you'll see any Floridians here eager to make it harder for law-abiding people to have the means of defending themselves and their families against violent criminals. Those calls typically come from folks who live much farther away from violent predators.

hitchBOT was found decapitated on Saturday, just two weeks into its American tour.

Poor hitchBOT.

After successfully traveling around Canada, Germany and The Netherlands, the hitch-hiking robot who relied on the goodwill of strangers to get around met an untimely and brutal demise in Philadelphia.

The Canadian researchers who created hitchBOT as a social experiment told The Associated Press that the child-sized robot was damaged “beyond repair” by vandals on Saturday in the city of brotherly love, pulling the plug on the bot’s first American tour.

HitchBOT had kicked off the tour just two weeks before in Massachusetts.

According to Canadian journalist Lauren O’Neil, hitchBOT was found with its head and arms ripped off.

“We decided not to publish it,” Zeller told Buzzfeed Canada of the image. “It’s upsetting -- you can see how it has been taken apart and left in the street.”

HitchBOT is an entirely helpless, but talkative, traveling companion. The immobile bot “could toss out factoids and carry limited conversation. A GPS in the robot tracked its location, and a camera randomly snapped photos about every 20 minutes to document its travels,” per the AP.

Earlier this year, hitchBOT successfully traveled around The Netherlands and Germany.

In 2014, the robot crossed more than 3,700 miles in Canada without incident.

This is just more evidence of the decline of America.  We have become a nation of imbeciles expecting 24/7 entertainment and willing to do or endanger anything to get it.  When confronted and asked why someone did something like this the average answer for most of these mentally handicapped idiots is, "because I can".  They are too stupid to articulate why they destroy things, but they feel entitled to do so.

When severe punishment is mentioned, libs always say it is not the answer.  Well then what is?  I am sick of having to guard stuff 24/7 just to keep people from stealing or destroying it.  My grandson left his bike in our front yard for about 30 minutes while he came in to eat lunch.  I came out and it was gone.  The useless of the country have been convinced they are entitled to the same things as the productive.  They not only have a sense of entitlement, but also a sense of contempt and disrespect for those who have worked and saved to get something.

America has had it too easy for too long.  It is showing everyday in the attitudes and efforts displayed by so many of us.  Even our immigrants are changing.  People used to come here legally looking for opportunity.  When they got here they were proud, happy and productive.  They built their lives through hard work and discipline.  Now they come in droves illegally expecting everything for nothing.  When they get any resistance, they are angry.  They feel they are owed not only a living, but a rich lifestyle paid for by the taxpayers.  Sadly they didn't learn this in their own country.  They learned it courtesy of the attitude of people already here, including many born here.

Well, if you leave your brand new mountain bike on the side of the road with a note asking any passer by to deliver the bike across country, what are the chances it'll arrive safely?

I know it made it around three other countries but the U.S. is a completely different ball game.

Maybe if they'd issued HitchBOT a concealed carry permit and a .45 1911 Automatic, he might have made it.  ;D

Seriously though, why are Canadian researchers letting loose partially animated robotics on U.S. highways unattended edit: in the first place? I'd suggest the fact it wasn't destroyed in the other 3 experiments as nothing more than pure dumb luck.

This is the point I bring up when people talk of laws in other countries as proof the same laws would work here.   The US and it's culture is totally different.

A 24-year-old woman stopped a rape near trendy McCarren Park in Greenpoint by giving her attacker 20 bucks, cops said.

The woman was walking near Leonard Street and Bayard Street around 11:20 p.m. Saturday when the creep grabbed her by the neck and fondled her genitals, according to police. The sicko told the terrified woman “I’m going to have sex with you” as he assaulted her, cops said.

The 24-year-old then offered the fiend money not to rape her, which he agreed to. The two walked to a nearby ATM and the woman paid off her would-be rapist with just $20, police said.
The woman was not seriously injured in the attack and refused medical attention at the scene, according to cops.

The suspect is a black male. He was still at large Thursday night, cops said

He might not need any financing. His business isn't at all capital intensive. But if he keeps this up eventually the cops will nail him and send him off to prison.  Ironically, he could keep up his activities while there, but he would be paid mainly in cans of mackerel or green dot cards.

Wow dude.  Are you bored?  Don't you live on an island with a nice beach?  You should take up surfing the waves instead of the net.  It is probably healthier.   :-)

Do you think I need to send you copies of my post first for editorial approval?  Do you respond to each line of every post?  I prefer to think I am allowed to skim, pick and choose what I want.  Not everything in every post is something I care to respond to.  Brass can suggest anything he wants.  You didn't see me arguing with him did you?

I don't think making it through the other experiments was all dumb luck.  Maybe I am right, maybe not.  I think a lot of it is the people here love to vandalize.  I think they have less respect for other people's property in America than in many other countries.  In fact I sometimes think many Americans are just looking for things to destroy for fun.  I think a lot of this is a lack of punishment if they are caught.

None of that makes any difference in what I said.  I said the point I bring up, is the US is culturally different from other countries, and the laws there may not work here.  I said there is no proof laws established for different countries that have a different cultural background will work in other countries.  If you don't agree that's your business.

New crop of incidents from Florida:

Quote
MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING TICKETS TO WATCH HIM BEAT UP FAT PEOPLE

With the growing popularity of both fat shaming and illegal backyard fights, one budding entrepreneur had the idea to combine the two to reel in some cash.

But the business plan was derailed when police bought one of Lebron Brown’s tickets and then arrested Brown for organizing an illegal fight.

Allegedly, Brown had paid 12 morbidly obese people (several wheelchair bound, one with Down syndrome and two women) $25 each to let him beat them one at a time in front of a crowd.

Participants were told they could fight back, but that under no circumstances were they allowed to win, and that they would have to stay in the ring until they were beaten unconscious.

“People could have gotten seriously hurt if this event had transpired,” a spokesman from the Palmetto Bay Police Department said. “I commend our officers for stopping this.”

Brown sold tickets on the street for $10 each and police believe he had sold roughly 300 in less than a week.

Of course there is violence resulting from a domestic disturbance, but this incident from Daytona Beach had an unusual cause:

Quote
We try to find crazy crimes in other states, really, but Florida just won’t stop outdoing everybody else.  37-year-old Yanilca Ortiz-Burgos really wanted her boyfriend to give her some drunken morning sex, but he refused and she took action and stabbed him in the belly.

http://crazed.com/drunk-florida-chick-stabs-boyfriend

Here's one that isn't from Florida:

Quote
Police made a routine traffic stop early Thursday morning and got more than they bargained for when Roy Tilbott, 51, stepped out of his El Camino for a field sobriety test and Casper police noticed several eyeballs slide from his right pant leg onto the road.

http://crazed.com/wyoming-man-eyeballs-in-cavity

Fortunately, they weren't human eyeballs. They were cow eyeballs that Mr. Tilbott took from his job at a slaughterhouse.  The slaughterhouse apparently required all such scraps to be disposed of. Mr. Tilbott enjoyed the taste of cow eyeballs and believed that they helped his erectile dysfunction. Accordingly, he devised this decidedly unhygienic method of smuggling the eyeballs out of the slaughterhouse.

The incident, according to reports, was captured on surveillance video.

released the same day on $15,000 bond, according to Pinellas County

I would never swim in Florida lakes.  A friend of mine used to go kayaking there. I wouldn't do that either.

Here's a story about a foolish guy in Texas who disregarded warning signs and went swimming in a bayou that contained alligators. They killed him.

Quote
CNN reports a man who mocked alligators, then jumped in the water — despite warning signs — is dead after being attacked in Texas.

Orange County Police were called to Burkart’s Marina near the Louisiana state line early Friday morning after reports that Tommie Woodward, 28, and an unidentified woman were swimming in a bayou and had been attacked by a large alligator.

Woodward’s body was found several hours later. The woman was not injured.

There are numerous “No Swimming Alligators” signs posted around the bayou. Woodward even ignored several verbal warnings before saying “f**k the alligators” then removing his shorts, taking his billfold from his pockets, yelling “cannonball!!” and cannonballing into the water.

Woodward yelled almost immediately for help as a 10-foot alligator attacked him.

A witness heard a man yell “a gator’s got him!”

Woodward pleaded for help “somebody shoot this thing! It’s eating me!”

In an emotional interview with KFDM, a witness, Debbie Wright, said, “I saw his body floating face down. And then he’s out there for a couple of seconds and then he’s dragged back down. And then he comes back up still face down and then he gets pulled down again. And then he just disappears.”

I grew up swimming in the same water as alligators. It really wasn't a big deal. Of course we referred to them as Gators. It's not unusual in the South to swim in the same water as gators but, there are times and signs to pay attention to. Gators will usually flee from human's presence and particularly run if they feel threatened. Sometimes if they are curious enough they will watch from a distance. The times and signs to avoid the water with Gators is when the water is low and food is scarce. Then they indeed might attack. They will attack and eat other gators when food is scarce. That said, if a sign is posted because of aggressive gators, one would do well to take heed. Normally, gators are not a threat but, that doesn't mean always

A woman is wanted for allegedly teaching a young girl to shoplift. Surveillance video captured the woman appearing to instruct the girl to shoplift a large bottle of tequila from a Florida liquor store Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at 24/7 Liquors in the 3100 block of W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard in Pembroke Park, authorities said. Security video shows the woman as she instructed the child on which item to steal, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office. She then walked away from the child toward the front of the store.

The child attempted to lift a large bottle of liquor but found it to be too heavy. The woman is then seen telling the child to go back and take a smaller bottle. The child returned to the shelves and selected a smaller bottle of 1800 Silver Tequila, authorities said. She hid it behind her back and walked to the front of the store.

The girl stood by the registers until the woman was able to block the clerk's view. She quickly left the store, stopping to hide the bottle once more from customers as they walked in. The young girl then went to a white Chevrolet Impala or similar model waiting in the parking lot, authorities said.

Yes, Toronto, not Miami!

I didn't expect to see this kind of story from our neighbor to the North. Who in the hell keeps 150 adult crocodiles and alligators in his home?

Quote
150 crocodiles, alligators rescued from Toronto-area home

About 150 crocodiles, alligators and caimans are now safe at an animal sanctuary after a Toronto-area man overwhelmed by his reptile collection issued a plea for help.

The reptiles, some more than three metres long, had been kept in a home for about 10 years before Bry Loyst of the Indian River Reptile Zoo near Peterborough, Ont., was called in to help.

"I couldn't believe what I was seeing," Loyst said Thursday on CBC Radio's Metro Morning show. "I could not believe that somebody had that many crocodilians and raised them to adulthood. These were not baby little crocodiles," he said. "They were adults."

For the non-metric folks 3 meter is nearly 10 feet. I've seen 10 foot gators in the wild. They are scary.

This Floridian really, REALLY likes to watch Jerry Springer, so much so that he attacks another prisoner who objected to changing the channel from the movie he was watching.

Quote
AUGUST 14--A devoted Jerry Springer fan is facing a felony charge for allegedly assaulting a fellow inmate during a dispute over the TV in a Florida jail, according to court records.

Donnie Floyd, 57, and other prisoners at the Clearwater jail were watching a movie one afternoon last month when Antron Laquay Smith, 32, “insisted on watching the Jerry Springer Show at 1600 hours as he does every day.”

Smith, seen at right, is a convicted felon with a monstrously long rap sheet that includes arrests for child abuse, domestic battery, grand theft, burglary, robbery, cocaine trafficking, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery on a pregnant victim. He is awaiting trial on various felonies related to his alleged activities as a pimp.

After Smith demanded to watch “Springer,” Floyd “spoke up,” an investigator reported. Smith then allegedly attacked his fellow inmate and took Floyd’s “commissary and flushed it down the toilet.”

Smith was charged this week with felony assault in connection with the July 28 attack on Floyd, who is awaiting trial on sex abuse charges.

As a result of the confrontation, Smith missed a “Springer” episode that featured a woman confessing to her boyfriend that she slept with his roommate Mike. In another segment, a man got down on bended knee to propose to his girlfriend, who ruined the moment by admitting that she slept with his friend Tobias.

As with most “Springer” shows, the latter revelation forced vigilant security personnel to hold back two would-be pugilists (seen above), both of whom tore their shirts off in preparation for combat.

Wow, Antron has a long rap sheet.

I hope any FSUW reading this doesn't pull up an episode of the Jerry Springer show. If you do, we're not all like that.

This Floridian really, REALLY likes to watch Jerry Springer, so much so that he attacks another prisoner who objected to changing the channel from the movie he was watching.

Huh?  I thought a commissary was somewhere to sit down and eat?

It has different meanings. In jail it is the additional food you are allowed to purchase after someone on the outside deposits funds to your account.

I think in US jails and prisons it's the store where prisoners can buy food.

The Florida journalist who allegedly helped expose ex-Subway pitchman Jared Fogle as a child predator cooperated with feds for four-and-a-half years, according to new reports.
Rochelle Herman-Walrond, 47, wore a wire and secretly recorded conversations she had with Fogle about his disturbing behavior, ABC News reported (http://abcnews.go.com/US/woman-helped-subway-spokesman-jared-fogle/story?id=33197355).
“He would tell me ages that he was interested in — boy or girl,” she said. ...............

A promotional gimmick that may cost Slobway Subway dearly.....

Quote
Kids could play with Jared Fogle’s pants in an ill-timed online game that was still live on Subway’s website Wednesday — the same day it was alleged the ex-pitchman possessed kiddie porn and solicited minors for sex.
The free “Jared’s Pants Dance” game, which has since been removed from Subway’s kids site, (http://boingboing.net/2015/08/19/subways-jareds-pants-k.html) featured a pair of Fogle’s blue jeans which are used to catch sandwiches (http://www.subway.com/Menu/Promotions/FreshFitForKids/Marquee/W5/kidsappdotcom_marquee.swf), bottles of water and other snacks for points.

There is even a pedophile pandemic here in North Texas from school janitors to principals...preachers and teachers and city councilpersons are getting busted for this stuff.
I would like to ask someone like Fogle how he would feel about someone messing around with his kids.

Wow, there is some serious anger:

Quote
A woman pushed, scratched and bit a subway rider who tried to sit in a seat that had her bag on it, according to police.

The alleged subway rage occurred aboard a Manhattan-bound F train from Queens last Friday at about 9:45 a.m.

The 45-year-old victim asked a woman to move her bag so she could sit down. When the woman ignored her, the victim attempted to sit down anyway.

That's when police say the seated women flew into a rage. They say she scratched the other rider on the chest, pulled her hair and bit her forearm, causing bleeding.

Post by: Larry1 on September 01, 2015, 05:45:14 PM
This story is from Jacksonville, Florida.  A young mother had finished her shift at Popeyes Fried Chicken and was walking home, along with her boyfriend. A car with several male occupants slows down and demands the box of chicken she was carrying home for dinner for herself, her boyfriend, and 5 year old daughter.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9LjDbkU4wA&feature=youtu.be

One of them shouts, "Give us the chicken." She gives the box of chicken to the gentlemen. The boyfriend pleads for the gentlemen not to kill her, telling them she is two months pregnant. The leader refuses to listen to the entreaties to kill her from one of his confederates, and spares her life.  They did, however, steal her purse, with the money she was going to use for her daughter's birthday party the next weekend.

This is another food robbery story. It arose not from Florida but from Virginia, and did not involve a box of delicious Popeye's chicken but merely a footlong sub sandwich from Subway. I haven't had every sandwich Subway makes but I'm pretty sure that none of them are worth getting a felony conviction for armed robbery.

Quote
RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are looking for a trio of teens seen in surveillance video, who robbed a VCU student of his sandwich at gun point.

Surveillance video shows the three teens, in a Subway sandwich shop, not ordering anything, until one asked for a cup of water.

Police said they then followed a man outside the shop on Semmes Avenue just after he got his sandwich, and stole his meal.

"Holding somebody at gun point for a sandwich,” said Christina Moore, who lives in an apartment nearby.  “It's so reckless."

But stealing a man's foot-long sandwich is still a felony, one that has people who live nearby talking about safety.

"I'm not going to walk alone or with headphones on, for sure," Moore said.

The boldness lay in the timing of the crime and how the suspects seemed not to care that they were caught on camera.  "It’s pretty shocking because it was over a sandwich, and we live here,” said Moore. “I'm not going to come out alone at night."

People living in the neighborhood said apartment managers have warned them of petty crimes like loose change being swiped from cars, but nothing as serious as an armed robbery.

"I saw three kids walking down the block,” said one resident, who believes the three young people he saw, are the same ones seen in surveillance photos as they walked down 12th Street before heading into the sub shop.

He believes the pictures will help police make a quick capture.

He also said if they were his kids, the sandwich crime probably wouldn’t be on TV.  "I wish my child would do something like that,” said the resident who did not give his name.  “You wouldn't be covering them.  You'd be covering me for the way I disciplined them."

The last two incidents concerned a box of Popeye's Fried Chicken and a sub sandwich from Subway. Now we move to McDonald's, specifically a McDonald's drive-through in Louisiana:

Quote
SEPTEMBER 2--Police have charged a quartet of women in connection with an attack last week on a 16-year-old McDonald’s employee who was pulled through a drive-thru window and beaten outside the Louisiana restaurant.

As seen above, video of the attack was shot by a passenger in a vehicle that pulled up Wednesday night to the drive-thru window at the McDonald’s in LaPlace, a city about 25 miles west of New Orleans. The clip surfaced online days after the August 26 incident.

Police today announced the arrest of Kailin Holland, 17, for felony battery. Pictured at right, Holland, who is accused of pulling the victim through the drive-thru window, was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.

Detectives also issued misdemeanor summonses for simple battery to Sierra Gregoire, 18, and a 16-year-old girl. Additionally, a misdemeanor summons for disturbing the peace by fighting was issued to Bradnika Gregoire, 20.

After exchanging words with the victim, Holland grabbed the teenager by the hair and yanked her through the drive-thru window. The victim struck the side of the vehicle--and may have broken the driver’s side window--before landing on the ground between the car and the eatery.

The McDonald’s employee told cops that after she was pulled through the window, the driver “started punching her.” She noted that “several other female subjects accompanied the assailant and punched her as well,” according to investigators.

The suspects fled the McDonald’s (seen below) in the vehicle. The victim, who was evaluated at the scene by EMS workers, declined medical treatment.

The McDonald’s worker provided investigators with the names of some of the assailants, and detectives were aided by other witness accounts and surveillance video. Police say an “ongoing dispute” between the victim and her assailants prompted the attack.

I once worked in an office in which an employee was reprimanded for this exact same thing. He managed a small group of workers and they went to his boss to complain that his frequent farting made it unpleasant to work around him.

Quote
Formal Reprimand Issued To Flatulent Federal Worker
Man's gas blamed for creating "intolerable" workplace

A federal employee was formally reprimanded this month for excessive workplace flatulence, a sanction that was delivered to him in a five-page letter that actually included a log of representative dates and times when he was recorded “releasing the awful and unpleasant odor” in his Baltimore office.

In a December 10 letter accusing him of “conduct unbecoming a federal officer,” the Social Security Administration employee was informed that his “uncontrollable flatulence” had created an “intolerable” and “hostile” environment for coworkers, several of whom have lodged complaints with supervisors.

According to the letter of reprimand--which is the least severe administrative sanction that can be levied against a federal worker--the man was first spoken to about his flatulence during a May 18 “performance discussion” with his supervisor. He was informed that fellow employees had complained about his flatulence, and that it was “the reason none of them were willing to assist you with your work.” The supervisor referred the employee to a SSA unit for “assistance with what could have been a medical problem that was affecting everyone in the module.”

Two months later, on July 17, a second SSA manager spoke with the man “in regards of your releasing of bodily gas in the module during work hours.” The manager asked the employee if he could “make it to the restroom before releasing the awful and unpleasant odor.” She also recounted what appeared to be a prior conversation during which the worker suggested that he would “turn your fan on when it happens.” The manager recalled advising him that, “turning on the fan would cause the smell to spread and worsen the air quality in the module.”...

After stating that, “It is my belief that you can control this condition,” the author of the reprimand letter then noted, “The following dates show the time of your flatulence.” What followed was a log listing 17 separate dates (and 60 specific times) on which the employee passed gas. For example, the man’s September 19 output included nine instances of flatulence, beginning at 9:45 AM and concluding at 4:30 PM
.

http://thesmokinggun.com/documents/coworkers-attacked-by-gas-645132

That's a lot of gas.

The Smoking Gun reports that the reprimand was later withdrawn:

Quote
The Social Security Administration has withdrawn a reprimand letter issued last month to an employee who was accused of excessive workplace flatulence that created an “intolerable” and “hostile” environment for coworkers.

The withdrawal might have resulted from an appeal, although this isn't clear from the article:

Quote
The SSA employee was represented by the American Federation of Government Employees union, officials of which recently circulated a redacted copy of the reprimand letter.

Now I am not condoning beating anyone or excusing this man.  I believe in lawful self defense.  But not using a situation to try to kill someone then act like it was justified.  Apparently this McD employee was a violent man with a possible murder in his past.  This shows why people should watch who they are messing with.  Monsters do exist, and they are not under the bed.  They walk among us and we never recognize them until it is too late.

These girls found one, and were lucky to survive.  These two loudmouthed girls were apparently drunk and one slapped this guy.  Then they both attacked coming over and around the counter.  Man it did not go like they thought it would.

I think he had a right to defend himself, but he went way too far.  Once he began beating them while they were on the floor he lost any reasonable claim to self defense.  He is lucky one of them did not die.  My guess is at best he would have been convicted of manslaughter and maybe second degree murder.

Title: Brawl in Florida Publix over chicken wings

This continues the theme of fights erupting over food. The video didn't say where the Publix was located but since Publix has such a strong presence in Florida I had a feeling it was located somewhere in Florida.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT2pcj4KFY0

I did a bit of poking around and found that this happened in or near Tampa, Florida:

Quote
A brawl broke out involving customers and employees at the deli counter of a Tampa-area Publix supermarket, with a bystander to the chaotic scene recording the encounter on cell phone video.

Apparently the “beef,” as it were, got started over an order of chicken wings that went wrong.

Local cops have reportedly charged one participant with simple battery.

See footage of the Publix brawl as aired by Florida news media embedded below.

According to the woman who filmed the scuffle at the Publix in Temple Terrace, Florida, “It all started over an order of chicken wings and a rude customer… Then, shoppers began shouting, fists went flying, and it turned into a deli disaster,” WFLA reported
.

Title: Don't call the police to complain that your marijuana dealer shorted you
Post by: Larry1 on October 05, 2015, 12:16:03 PM
Well, maybe in Colorado or Washington where weed is legal, but not in other states. This incident is from Fort Myers, in the Southwest of The Sunshine State, near the beautiful Sanibel Island and Captiva.

Quote
Angered that she had been shorted in a marijuana purchase, a Florida woman dialed 911 from outside her dealer's home to report being ripped off, a miscalculation that resulted in her arrest on a pair of criminal charges.

Erin Klich, 36, told a cop that she “called the police because she was buying marijuana and was shorted by the people” inside a Fort Myers home..

Klich reported that she sought to purchase a seven-gram bag of marijuana for $75, according to a probable cause statement.

After a Fort Myers Police Department officer arrived at the scene, Klich was again on the phone with a 911 operator. The “loud and argumentative” Klich hung up the phone at the cop’s direction, but subsequently dialed 911 again. When warned by an officer that she was misusing the emergency dispatch system, Klich refused to hang up the phone, prompting her arrest.

While cops waited for a female officer to arrive at the scene to search Klich, she was placed into the rear of a police cruiser. Upon Klich’s exit from the car, officers found a “clear plastic baggy containing suspect marijuana, lodged between the seat where Klich was sitting.”

The pot weighed 5.4 grams, police noted.

http://thesmokinggun.com/documents/stupid/911-call-over-pot-deal-784092

This is another level of stupid. The possession of marijuana is a crime in Florida. Yet this woman called the police to complain that her marijuana dealer had shorted her. And she became "loud and argumentative" with the 911 operator and refused to hang up the phone even after being told that she was misusing the 911 system.

Title: Man calls 911 bc his girlfriend would not have sex with him
Post by: Larry1 on October 07, 2015, 01:15:26 PM
I feel certain that this was a misuse of the 911 emergency call system.

Quote
A South Carolina man called 911 early this morning to complain that his girlfriend would not have sex with him, according to an arrest report.

When a cop responded to his Spartanburg residence, Patrick Doggett, 53, “stated he called 911 because his girlfriend, Ms. Faye Woodruff, would not give him any *ss.”

http://thesmokinggun.com/buster/misuse-911/man-calls-911-over-lack-of-ass-674920

If this was a legitimate reason to call 911 husbands and boyfriends would swamp the system.

And in other 911 news:

Quote
An Ohio man who dialed 911 to report that he was “too high on weed” was found curled up on the floor of his bedroom “surrounded by a plethora of Doritos, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, and Chips Ahoy cookies,” according to a police report.

Since we're on a "things that happen in Publix" theme lately, I thought I would post this incident that occurred in a Palm Harbor Publix. A guy was taking upskirt photos with his iPhone. He had an interesting excuse.

Quote
A man caught placing his iPhone under the skirt of a Publix shopper told police that he was actually “taking pictures of cakes” for his wife, and not engaging in some felonious supermarket voyeurism.

According to a police report, the female victim told officers that she caught Michael Shoukry Abdels Atalla, 48, filming up her skirt as she shopped Thursday night at the Palm Harbor, Florida market. The woman confronted Atalla, reported cops, who noted that “store surveillance captured this act.”

When a sheriff’s deputy questioned Atalla, he “claimed to be taking pictures of cakes for his wife.” Atalla lives about half a mile from the Publix supermarket where he was busted.

The report does not detail why Atalla’s purported spouse needed a gallery of cake images, though Deputy Chester Johnson did point out that Atalla’s iPhone handiwork "occurred in the deli by the hot chicken, not the bakery."

From Fort Myers in Southwest Florida we make our way North to St. Petersburg where this incident took place:

Quote
A man on probation for stealing a car in June, is back in jail Thursday for stealing two more vehicles. But it's what led to those charges that will really have you shaking your head.

On Oct. 4, St. Pete Police recovered an abandoned Infiniti that had been left near 13th Ave. S and 18th St. S.

Later, the owner reported the car had been stolen from a Placido Bayou home.

Inside the car, officers found personal items and a packet of court documents belonging to Carnell Butler. Officers tried, but were unable to locate Butler.

On Oct. 6, Butler stole a Hyundai Sonata from a home in the Placido Bayou area.

On Oct. 6, a detective contacted a relative at Butler's home and left a message for him. Butler called the detective back, and arranged to come to headquarters to pick up personal items from his June arrest.

When he arrived, the detective arrested him and found the keys to a Sonata in his pocket. Acting on a hunch, the detective found the Sonata parked a block away from police headquarters. They soon discovered that car had also been reported stolen.

Police also found a stolen bicycle at Butler's home. The bicycle had been stolen from an open garage in Placido Bayou

Title: Man beats girlfriend bc she failed to bring home In-N-Out burgers for dinner
Post by: Larry1 on October 14, 2015, 02:17:33 PM
Continuing the theme of angry attacks on loved ones after being disappointed about food, here is an incident from Oregon:

Quote
An Oregon man has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his girlfriend for failing to bring home In-N-Out burgers for dinner, according to court records.

Christian Berry, a 21-year-old Medford resident, appeared yesterday in Circuit Court in connection with his arrest last month for allegedly attacking the 20-year-old victim, whom he has dated for four years.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the hulking Berry--who is 6’ 2” tall and weighs 300 pounds--punched the woman and struck her with a cane.

During a police interview, Berry reportedly admitted to the attack, and said that he had been arguing with his girlfriend “because she didn't bring home In-N-Out burgers for dinner."

On September 9, the day before Berry’s arrest, In-N-Out opened its first store in Oregon. The California-based hamburger chain’s Medford location is about three miles from the residence in which Berry allegedly beat the victim.

The woman, investigators noted, was treated at a local hospital for her injuries, which included “extensive bruising, contusions, and scratches on her body and a lump on her face.”

When asked if he had also kicked the victim--as the woman alleged--Berry said that he did not remember. However, a cop reported, Berry “told me that if she said it happened, then it probably did.” The officer added that Berry confessed to assaulting the woman “about 13 times” during the last year
.

http://thesmokinggun.com/documents/crime/in-n-out-assault-684930

But we return to Florida for this next incident that took place at a McDonald's in St. Petersburg:

Quote
A McDonald’s customer is facing a battery charge for allegedly pelting a restaurant employee with condiment packets during a late-night confrontation, Florida police report.

Christopher Clark, 40, allegedly became so disorderly Sunday night inside a McDonald’s in St. Petersburg that he was asked to leave the eatery by manager Aaron Newton.

In response to the eviction attempt, Clark “threw a handful of package condiments” at Newton, according to an arrest affidavit. Newton “did not sustain any injuries” as a result of the fusillade, which surely included ketchup projectiles
.

http://thesmokinggun.com/documents/stupid/mcdonalds-condiment-battery-arrest-435628

Why do so many of these incidents take place in McDonald's? Is it just because there are so many McDonald's restaurants in America? Or is there something about McDonald's appeal to those inclined to mayhem?

We have this incident in Russia:

Quote
А woman in Russia's Perm region is facing 15 years in prison for fatally stabbing her lover after he mistreated her cat, regional outlet V-Kurse.ru reported, citing the regional branch of the Investigative Committee.

The victim had only recently moved into his girlfriend's home in the town of Kungur when he attempted, with increasing frustration, to fix a broken television set.

After tinkering for three days to no avail, a fight broke out between the couple and the man took out his growing anger on the woman's pet cat by throwing it against a wall.

In retaliation, the woman stabbed her partner in the liver with a kitchen knife. The man died from his injuries on the way to the hospital, the report said. The woman has confessed to the crime and has been detained

AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA — A South Carolina man allegedly decapitated a 2-week-old puppy in front of his girlfriend and her two young children.

The incident took place after the man, identified as 25-year-old James Xavier Quattlebaum, reportedly arrived home on Kershaw Street in Aiken after taking drugs on early Saturday morning, WJBF reported.

Quattlebaum had an argument with his 37-year-old girlfriend Tarsha Hankinson before he decided to decapitate one of their puppies with a large kitchen knife in front of her and her two children, who are 7 and 10 years old.

Title: Man Knocked Out by Hot Sauce in Fight Over Graham Crackers in Florida

Another physical dispute involving food. This occurred in Southeast Florida, in Palm Beach County. The article on the local NBC affiliate website says Riveria Beach, but I think they should have written Riviera Beach. I don't think there is a Riveria Beach in Florida. I hope readers will correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Man Knocked Out by Hot Sauce in Fight Over Graham Crackers

Police say a man threw a hot sauce bottle and knocked his victim unconscious in a fight over graham crackers in Florida.

Riveria Beach police say Shawn Deandre Thomas was eating graham crackers this week at a church that provides meals for the homeless. Authorities said Thomas became upset when someone asked for his crackers so he picked up a bottle of hot sauce and allegedly threw it at the man's head, knocking him unconscious.

According to a police report, Thomas also punched another man in the throat when he tried to intervene.

If this was one of those tiny little bottles of Tabasco sauce this would have been an impressive throw.  But if it was a big bottle of Frank's Red Hot, less impressive.

Florida woman sets roommate on fire over spaghetti spat

An argument turned vicious in Florida when an incensed woman poured fingernail polish remover over her roommate then ignited it.

The fight, according to a witness, erupted after Carlos Ortiz Jr., 42, threw out Melissa Dawn Sellers’ spaghetti and meatballs, according to Clearwater police.

“She was setting little objects on fire, then that turned into pouring nail polish remover all over him, and then all of a sudden, the lighter sparked and he lit on fire,” said Ines Causevic, a friend of the victim, Bay News 9 reported.

Sellers had been staying with Ortiz after losing her job at Wal-Mart.

A Florida man who blew off both his arms when the crude fireworks he was assembling in his kitchen exploded will not face criminal charges.

Justin McHenry was using a coffee grinder to mix explosive materials at his Cape Coral condo May 1 when the mixture suddenly detonated, Wink News reported.

The 31-year-old's limbs were blown off from below the elbows after shrapnel shot out across the room.

His bones were left exposed and he also suffered severe injuries to his abdomen and upper legs.

Cops arrived on the scene and found a dazed McHenry sitting outside. Smoke was coming out from his explosion-ravaged apartment.

"He had a coffee grinder and when he pushed the coffee grinder down, it blew his arms off," she said

Title: Florida man arrested after he orders pizza delivered to his cockfight
Post by: Larry1 on October 23, 2015, 11:40:23 AM
The pizza delivery man spotted evidence of cockfighting and tipped off the cops. For those of you not familiar with the term cockfighting, it features roosters with sharp blades attached to their feet to fight other roosters. Spectators bet on the outcome of the fight.

Quote
Polk County, Florida -- Deputies have located a rooster fighting and breeding compound after getting a tip from a pizza deliver driver.

The driver delivered the pizza to a home located at 2400 21st Street on Friday, June 19 -- during the middle of a cock fight. When deputies arrived the found extensive trash around the property and a roster fighting ring was observed through a large opened door area of a large barn. The ring was littered with feathers from rosters fighting inside the ring.

A table used for trimming roster spurs with residue on the table from their spurs was observed. Over 60 rosters, hens, and small chickens were observed in cages and a few roaming free in the back of the barn...

"We really appreciate this pizza delivery driver calling us. Frankly, I can't understand why someone would ask for a pizza delivery during an illegal cock-fight, but are happy to also make house calls. It's pretty funny when you think about it." –Sheriff Grady Judd

Upon further investigation the ring was clearly set up and used for roster fighting. Located in a plastic container that was inside a roster holding pen were several plastic boxing gloves used to train the rosters to fight without injuring themselves. Also in the container were several ceramic spurs used to tie onto a roster's natural spur area and kill the opposing roster. Located in a refrigerator inside the barn was several bottles of medication from Mexico clearly marked for roster fighting.

Title: Woman calls 911 to complain she didn't like her Chinese food
Post by: Larry1 on October 26, 2015, 02:38:03 PM
This story is from Ohio. It features another misuse of the 911 emergency call system. If you recall, we featured a story earlier in this thread about a man calling 911 because his girlfriend refused to have sex with him (reply #88 above).

Quote
Meet Tracey McCloud.

The 44-year-old Ohio woman was arrested yesterday after she dialed 911 to complain that food she ordered at a Chinese restaurant was not up to her standards.

According to the Alliance Police Department, McCloud called 911 from the Main Moon Chinese Restaurant around 4:30 PM Monday.

When a dispatcher asked, “What’s your emergency?,” McCloud replied, “I had bought some Chinese food and it’s not to par to me.” McCloud explained that restaurant workers were refusing to give her a refund.

The incredulous operator requested the caller’s name and asked, “And this is why you called 911?”

“Umm, what am I supposed to do? Jump over the thing and beat em up and get my money back?,” McCloud responded.

After cops were dispatched to the restaurant, McCloud was arrested for misuse of the 911 system. She is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on Friday on the misdemeanor charge.

Most of these arguments have arisen over food.  Here is one that arose over the selection of toilet paper. This guy really feels strongly about his preferred brand of toilet paper. For completeness the article should say what kind he likes.

Quote
An Indiana man is facing a domestic battery charge after allegedly throwing his girlfriend to the ground during an argument over toilet paper, cops say.

According to a Muncie Police Department report, the victim told cops that Bryan Alwine, 27, pushed her so hard that she “flew” and landed in the street outside the home they share with their daughter.

The duo had been arguing, the victim said, “over toilet paper.” Alwine was allegedly upset because the victim had not purchased his preferred brand of toilet paper.

As first reported by The Star Press, the woman “further stated that Bryan is very specific on what he likes to use and that he began yelling at her while they were still inside the home.”

Officers responding to a 911 call Sunday night noted that the woman, who appeared “very frightened and nervous,” had a bloody elbow and a scratched knee. A witness who called police said that she saw Alwine “put his hands on” the victim and throw her to the ground

Another incident from The Waffle House.

Quote
Incensed that the price of sausage biscuits at Waffle House had increased by 50 cents, a Georgia man shattered the eatery’s door, according to cops who busted the diner Sunday morning.

Police say that Mitchell Feinberg, 39, became upset when, upon being presented his check, he discovered that the price of biscuits had been raised to $1.50.

After throwing his bill to the floor of the eatery in Brookhaven, an Atlanta suburb, Feinberg stormed out of the Waffle House. Cops allege that Feinberg punched the door as he exited, shattering the glass.

Pictured below, Feinberg was subsequently tackled by officers outside Waffle House. He claimed to have “barely kicked the door” as he exited, adding that he “did not want to open the greasy door with his hand,” according to a police report.

A Waffle House employee told police that Feinberg claimed that “someone had only charged him $1 on previous dates when he ordered” a sausage biscuit. A waiter who served Feinberg said that he became “belligerent and loud when he received the bill.” The worker added that Feinberg said, “damn, damn, damn” while complaining about the price of his meal.

Feinberg was charged with felony damage to business property, along with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. The Atlanta resident is being held in the DeKalb County jail in lieu of $2500 bond

More to the point:

(i) what moronic police deemed that this action could possibly rate as "felony damage to business property"; and
(ii) is there anywhere else where (pending arraignment or trial) you would be put in jail for punching a door?

Seriously????   :cluebat:

Also, although I can understand him being charged with disorderly conduct, how in the world could trespass be invoked?  To trespass involves being somewhere that you're forbidden from entering - according to the story, he kicked (or punched) the door as he left the premises.  If he hadn't actually been banned from the eatery prior to his tantrum, how could he possibly be trespassing?

The amount of monetary damage would classify it as a felony. So a busted $1000 dollar door falls in the felony range. The trespassing I agree with you is a bit silly unless he had previously been banned from the premises. It is usually something like resisting arrest with or without violence they tack on.

I think the felony charge is a result of the dollar amount of damage.  Once it passes a certain amount of damage, it becomes a felony rather than a misdemeanor.

The trespass I believe becomes the charge when someone is ordered to leave property and refuses.  At the point they are no longer allowed on the property they are then considered trespassing if they refuse to leave of their own accord.

As to being jailed, that is likely because the police could be held accountable in civil court if the person displaying violent tendencies was released and then injured themselves or others after being released.  I am sure this has happened in the past and set basic practices used by almost all police departments.

America is a litigious country and many practices have been put in place despite common sense due to lawsuit judgements and pre trial settlements.

Alex is correct. These crimes typically hinge on the dollar value of the damage (or value of the stolen item). I remember one statute that made it grand theft, a felony, to steal something whose value was $250 or more. When the statute was enacted, long ago, items worth more than $250 were regarded as valuable. But state legislatures cannot easily go through their entire criminal code to enact statutes amending existing law to adjust for current worth. And I think there are problems with simply changing the law to reflect new CPI (Consumer Price Index) numbers.

From the time a state legislature convenes until the time it adjourns for the year there is a frenetic rush to undertake all the activities that have been considered essential: draft bills, introduce bills, have interested parties review bills, have committee hearings on bills, have the full House and full Senate hold hearings on the bills (except in Nebraska, whose legislature has only one chamber), then go to a joint House/Senate conference committee to reconcile any differences in the two versions, then on to the governor for signing or vetoing.

I'm no expert but as I understand it prosecutors typically have considerable discretion in deciding which charges to file.

The officer charges you according to the law and how he interprets it. It is then reviewed by the prosecutor who decides whether there is enough evidence and the charge fits the crime. In many cases they will at that point drop some o the charges and may lessen one. So in this case the trespassing may be dropped, the felony destruction of property lessened to a criminal mischief misdemeanor, etc.

If the defendant takes it to court or string the case along the prosecutor will usually offer one or more plea deals which are lesser offences so as to not go to trial. Very few cases actually go to trial these days.

If you have a lengthy record there is less wiggle room for the prosecutor and the judge to lessen the charges.

Charge them with criminal damage (we don't have such things as misdemeanours or felonies, nor do we differentiate between commercial and private property in such cases), which would incur a fine when convicted, and order restitution for the cost of the damage (whether it involved repairing or replacing the door).  It certainly wouldn't involve jail time.

Charge them with criminal damage (we don't have such things as misdemeanours or felonies, nor do we differentiate between commercial and private property in such cases)

I have a hard time believing the same court and judge handles cases from jaywalking to murder anywhere.  There may be no designation of misdemeanor and felony in your country.  But, I am sure your judicial system recognizes differing levels of crimes. These no doubt are handled in different venues with different possible sentences.

Labels don't really matter.  Here crimes of a more serious nature are designated as felonies and crimes of a minor nature are considered misdemeanors.

I don't want all crimes handled the same.  To me it would be idiotic and an inefficient use of the court's time and finances to have our most experienced judges bogged down with damaged windows while a killer was being tried in a court by a less experienced judge.

which would incur a fine when convicted, and order restitution for the cost of the damage (whether it involved repairing or replacing the door).  It certainly wouldn't involve jail time.

So someone with enough money could just damage property at will then pay for it and repeat this process indefinitely?  I doubt it.  Jail time would come into play sooner or later.  The system would have to have a method of handling repeat offenders other than allowing them to buy their way out.

Restitution?  What about all the career criminals who can't or won't pay?  A fine is great for the government.  It is like a cool little crime tax.  But how does a fine benefit the guys who's door was destroyed?  What does he do when the criminal won't pay the restitution?  The possibility of jail time is the one bit of leverage that will usually make the criminal pay up if he/she can.

A moronic legal system would be one that allowed endless criminal property damage for people who could afford to buy their way out, or one that had zero threat of jail time for those who refused to pay for their crime.

Yeah well, we have a court of justice and it is a time for both sides to plead their case. I don't really care who agrees with what out of the posters here. There is a system here for the laws we have and how those laws came into being. Makes me no difference that you can't comprehend or understand that.

Quote

So what makes you think your laws are better or are better in this situation? Because the offender might have to go to jail? The only person or thing moronic in this incident is the perpetrator. He ordered a sausage biscuit then, finding out the price of the biscuit showed his ass, disrupted the business and punched the door out. No he doesn't have a right to do so, it wasn't his business and it wasn't his door.

This is just another example of your ultra liberalism clouding your judgement of right and wrong. Excusing the offender and blaming the set and establish laws of the land. It's fairly obvious with most of these crimes that these individuals are what the better half describes as "chemically disbalanced".  A nuisance, but really, this again proves Lord Conrad Black's point about the U.S. having a prison industry.  I agree with him, it's a waste of human potential.

Then we have a differing of opinions. Let him serve time in a few real prisons in several different countries and get back to me. Obviously a convict with too much time on his hands.

It doesn't change the fact he served time with fellow felons, all doing time for indictable offenses (i.e., more serious crimes), and that the types of convicts he encountered constitute the majority of those imprisoned in the U.S. - i.e., non violent criminals.

Doesn't make him an authority either. He didn't do what is considered "hard time," he was merely locked up and couldn't go anywhere. There were a number of federal penitentiaries where he could have served hard time but, that's not where he was. Mostly he was with other high brow white collar criminals. US prisons for the most part forsake reform years ago. It's punishment except for the special few with money and connections. He has both

No, that's untrue.  Black has written about his prison experiences.  Certainly, many of those with whom he was incarcerated were white collar criminals, but he was also incarcerated with a lot of men who were there for drug crimes, mostly, drug use.

Black ended up teaching at the prison, teaching both American history and teaching prisoners to read.  There aren't too many white collar criminals who are illiterate, or barely literate.

I have a hard time believing the same court and judge handles cases from jaywalking to murder anywhere.  There may be no designation of misdemeanor and felony in your country.  But, I am sure your judicial system recognizes differing levels of crimes. These no doubt are handled in different venues with different possible sentences.

Who on earth equated jaywalking with murder?  Certainly not me.  The distinction I made was that there is no difference in criminal damage cases.  Yes, we do have different courts - District Court for less serious offences, and High Court for the most serious.

I don't want all crimes handled the same.  To me it would be idiotic and an inefficient use of the court's time and finances to have our most experienced judges bogged down with damaged windows while a killer was being tried in a court by a less experienced judge.

I agree, although a couple of High Court judges have told me that it can be refreshing to preside over the occasional trial in the District Court.  This can happen when the workload in the High Court eases off, for whatever reason.

So someone with enough money could just damage property at will then pay for it and repeat this process indefinitely?

That's just being silly.

Fines and/or reparation payments are discussed before the sentence is imposed.  Should the defendant be unable to pay any or all of the monetary penalty, then a Court Order will be issued attaching his salary/wages or government benefit.  Believe me, that's the last thing that people want, so most (not all) will make every effort to pay it off.  As for the guy whose door was destroyed, his insurance company will foot the repair bill.  It is they who will eventually get the reparation money through the Court.  Of course jail is a possibility for a repeat offender, but only as an absolute last resort.

A moronic legal system would be one that allowed endless criminal property damage for people who could afford to buy their way out, or one that had zero threat of jail time for those who refused to pay for their crime.

No, people aren't buying their way out.  Do they do it in your country?

I don't know that anyone did.  It was just an example.

Well let me try a better example.  Are you saying someone who breaks a window and someone who intentionally starts a fire and destroys a multi million dollar apartment complex would have no distinction in their cases since they are both criminal damage cases?  I find that hard to believe.

No, people aren't buying their way out.  Do they do it in your country?

You have to be kidding me on that, right?

Of course those examples are different, because they are different crimes.  Your first example would be criminal damage (if intentional), but the second is arson, which is a whole different ball game.

No, people aren't buying their way out.  Do they do it in your country?

While people may occasionally wonder how some verdicts have been reached, defendants "buying their way out" is not one of the avenues.

You're getting way off my point here, which was questioning how this particular case could be construed as a felony.  The reasonable responses from other posters answered my question.  I quite agree with you that this particular perp is a moron, who shouldn't have done what he did.  However, my point is that all he did was break a door - it's not the end of the world!

This is just another example of your ultra liberalism clouding your judgement of right and wrong. Excusing the offender and blaming the set and establish laws of the land. In your progressive mind he's innocent and the law is wrong. This line of thought and you are a perfect example of everything wrong in the world today  :D

What hallucinogenic substances have you been smoking?  "Ultra liberalism"?  Seriously?  There's nothing cloudy about my judgement of right and wrong - I spent enough time as a Court prosecutor to be well aware of the difference.  Where have I excused this offender, or said that he is innocent?  I agree that anyone espousing this particular line of thought needs to be re-educated, but I would strongly disagree that I could possibly be a "perfect example of everything wrong in the world today!"

This one is not from Florida. It's from South Carolina.

A couple is facing criminal charges after repeatedly calling 911 yesterday to report that possums and people were “jumping out of their refrigerator and microwave,” according to a police report.

... In addition to their claims about appliances, the pair told police that they had “pictures of worms coming out of the floor of their vehicle,” as well as images of “midgets and other people camouflaged.” Upon review of the photos, a cop noted that they actually showed “a basketball goal and a tree.”

While both Terry and Fowler denied being under the influence of any narcotics, cops concluded that the couple’s five 911 calls were likely triggered by the synthetic drug “flakka,” which often has hallucinatory effects on a user

I disagree. I stayed exactly on point. The offender didn't "just break a door". He broke the law in the process of breaking the door. When he broke the law his trespass became criminal. I assume it was raised to a felony based on what the others have stated, the price of the door. I really don't know but, it doesn't matter. The disruption of business and the breaking the door was a criminal act. Why is that moronic? Maybe things are different where you're from but here, nobody has a right to disrupt your business or break your door. There's laws against it.

I have no problem with the concept - it's the idea of something so relatively minor being accorded the status of a felony which I couldn't understand.  Maybe someone should review that particular law (and any that are similar by way of having monetary limits) and recommend an update to allow for inflation since the law was originally drafted.  $1,000 may have been a year's average salary then, but it's only a week's today.

This is less about the conservative RWD members and more about  the sad state of affairs of a divided nation.
Democrats outside of RWD can be just as bad, starting with their leaders.

To illustrate this, the liberal voices here consider me a neocon, and in contrast self-tests peg me as a moderate.   I almost voted for Obama in 2008.

If you own the business and losing customers, revenue as a result of the actions of this offender and have to replace the door then it's not "minor". Anyone even you, should have the right to own or conduct a business without being impeded or inconvenienced by individuals such as this. There is a law that insures it. Would you have felt better if he had pulled out a gun and shot the place up?

Yes, they do. Your liberal views are not as shared with the rest of the world as much as you wish to proclaim. Yes, there are very liberal/socialist views prevalent throughout Europe and North America but, thanks to your peace loving Muslims, even that is changing very fast.

I have a lot of respect for Muzh and his views. I consider him my friend yet I am far from the right wing that you seem to believe that most here sit but, still far right from Muzh's beliefs. The only difference IMHO between the American right and left is Idealism vs Realism. I consider myself in the middle of that. Fiscally conservative and socially liberal. The problem with idealism is the realists are expected to pay for it. As for getting dumped on, if your positions or arguments can't stand up to scrutiny and you feel dumped on perhaps you should re-examine those views?

Simple mathematics shows that you live amongst a tiny minority of the world's population.  News flash, just in case you don't see any world news (other than Muslims setting off bombs) - the rest of the world does not necessarily share your views.  I'm not saying that it's better or worse - just different.  As I posted earlier, my views do NOT make me anywhere close to a member of the loony left.

As for getting dumped on, if your positions or arguments can't stand up to scrutiny and you feel dumped on perhaps you should re-examine those views?

Given the interest in US criminal laws I thought I would post this story:

Quote
OAK LAWN, Ill. -- A disagreement over the meaning of all-you-can-eat led to an arrest at  a restaurant.

Oak Lawn police say Natasha West ordered the $4 all-you-can-eat pancakes at a Denny's Restaurant on November 6.

They say when West started sharing the pancakes with her friends, a waitress told them that was not permitted.

Police said West swore at the waitress and tried to hit her. The group then left the Denny's without paying
.

http://wgntv.com/2015/11/13/irate-customer-arrested-after-sharing-all-you-can-eat-pancakes/

Miss West was charged with assault and damage to property. Although the article doesn't specify, my guess is that both were misdemeanors.

When I have ordered all you can eat dishes my understanding has been that it was all I could eat rather than all everyone at the table could eat.

Moorish Nation, whose members make it their business to assume ownership of vacant luxury homes without paying a dime, appears to have established an outpost in one of Charlotte’s finest neighborhoods.

For at least three months, according to neighbors and attorneys familiar with the case, a woman named Ninti el Bey and up to eight other people have been living on and off in a 5,200-square-foot home in Piper Glen.

According to documents associated with the case, the 42-year-old Bey has launched a one-woman legal fight to keep control of the expansive stucco structure on Kelly Woods Lane. She has defied or threatened Realtors, the Piper Glen Homeowners Association and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, documents indicate. She has been evicted at least once and was arrested as recently as Saturday.

Yet, Bey and her clan always seem to find a way to return, and neighbors say the lights come back on almost every night in the supposedly vacant house.

Moorish Nation – or at least the religious group’s radical offshoot that doesn’t recognize federal, state and local laws. Members also take a generously broad view of their rights to other people’s property – often targeting expensive homes that are vacant, foreclosed upon or up for sale, then filing nuisance court actions to hold their ground as long as possible.

Not communism but anarchy, Larry. The radical offshoot of this group (although not necessarily affiliated  to them) call themselves "Sovereign Citizens". These are the people that are usually involved with this kind of activity.

They reject all laws and governance and believe they are answerable only to themselves.

We have them in Canada as well calling themselves Freemen of the Land or some such thing.

These people are generally considered dangerous to police or 'Caution Victors' (police jargon for violent) when dealing with them.

It was unclear what the property damage charge related to in reply #143 above, in the fight over a patron buying the all-you-can-eat $4 pancakes and distributing them to the other people at her table. I think the answer involves another attack on a door:

Not a lot of Italian mobsters down here. Mostly those that have already served their time up north and move down to retire or get out of the game. A RW we know married one here, pretty harmless guy at this point.

We have had some Russian mob. One ran several strip clubs but they booted him from the country years ago. Most just invest or vacation here.

There are organized Cuban grow op rings down here that are high on the Feds watch list. Venezuelan businessmen as well.

South Florida is a bit unique in that it is so diverse and many operate without organizations like they may elsewhere. It is kind of every man for himself down here in regards to the mentality. Many organizations or criminals will live or invest here, but not operate.

The state has a lot of flakka and bath salts, in addition to the older drugs. A guy tried to eat a person's face off under the influence of bath salts:

We've been talking about gators in Florida. I think most of you have heard about this, but I thought I would include it in this thread.

Quote
The boy's family was at a movie night outdoors at the Grand Floridian resort when around 9 p.m. the boy waded into about a foot of water in a lagoon, authorities have said. Witnesses, including the boy's horrified parents, tried to save him. His father jumped in and tried to pry the gator's mouth open. His mother jumped in, too.
But it was too late. The child was dragged underwater in the Seven Seas Lagoon ...

It looks like they were arrested in May.  2017 will be here in six and a half months. Lots of things have to happen in the pre-trial period. And in addition to that the courts may be backed up.

In the USA you have a right to a speedy trial, maybe you don't in the UK or they
waived it for some reason.

This was an awful story.  I envision myself in that situation and it makes me nauseous.  The poor parents having to witness this happening to their child. The parents did the best they could once it happened....In my opinion Disney is in for a well-deserved lawsuit.  People from outside of the area needed to be clearly informed that there were potentially alligators in that body of water.

Disney will of course settle for a large sum, but we have become a sue happy nation. They let a toddler wade into a lake at 9pm. Horrible incident like you say though. I can't imagine what they are going through.

For those who don't live in Florida -  don't swim in the lakes and canals. We have gators, moccasins, brain eating amoebas, hantavirus, leptospirosis, and meningitis.

We are in the month of June, peak mating season for gators. Large males go on walkabouts from lake to lake. There is no way to stop them from entering a lake. And females guard the nests and will attack for no reason.

I'm not so sure about that. Depends on Florida's laws. There are beach front hotels in Hawaii and there are no signs warning of sharks. Warnings of sharks and alligators are bad for tourism in Hawaii and Florida. The government tries to keep these kinds of attacks from the media. If the news goes national, it'll hurt tourism and their tax revenue. There are lots of alligator and shark attacks we don't hear about.

A 2 yo playing in the water unsupervised may have died by drowning. Parents should get some blame.

It's a man made lake, and Disney has beach events every night, so I can understand the parents' thinking.

Apparently, the lake is attached to a canal, which is how the alligators get in the lake. If Disney knew there could be alligators in that lake, there should have been signage.

I stayed at a few resorts in Orlando, and they all had alligator warning signs.

My impression was that the boy was right there in ankle deep water with the parents close-by and watching.  They probably never expected an alligator pop up at disney. The same thing could have happened if the boy was back a few feet in the sand near the shore...really they should have mentioned to tourists that alligators might be present!

Now that I am reading more about the incident on other news sites, it seems you are correct. Looks like they were on the man made Disney beach at the hotel. Freak accident with all the right circumstances in place for an attack. Family would never have known...

Tough week for Orlando. First a singer was murdered, then the terrorist attack and now death of a 2 yo by an alligator.

The sheriffs department and Florida Fish and Wildlife praised Disney for having a very proactive program in removing alligators. It's a never ending battle.

It's understandable everybody is calling for warning signs after the situation but I found that there were only 23 deaths by alligators in Florida in the last 43 years. This is rarer than being murdered by a gun. Might as well have business establishments posting signs warning of dying by gun before alligator.

Disney will probably offer money to the parents even if they believe they can win. The public backlash for playing hard ball will cost them more in the end.

If I remember correctly there are about a million and a half alligators in Florida. When I lived there our house backed up on a small lake. It contained gators. There was no way to stop them from getting in. I never allowed my daughters to wade in the lake. From time to time I let them get close to the bank but I was always between them and the water.

Gators are fast. I was trimming the hedges early one evening and heard a huge splash. I turned around and saw that a gator had chased a snake out of the lake and into our yard.  About a third of the gator's body was out of the water and it didn't come any farther because the snake was incredibly fast. It disappeared into our lawn within seconds.

I read this article about what the cold-hearted blogger said concerning the 2 year-old toddler being killed by the gator yesterday. I don't hate that feminist, I actually feel very sorry for her. She needs prayers, not vitriol.

It must be pretty miserable to have to wade through the challenges of life with no empathy in your heart. With this woman, everything is about "Me" "Me" "Me" "Me" "Me". To call her a Narcissist would be an accurate diagnosis, I am certain, according to the DSM V.

I do not know if people like her can change over time, and actually develop some empathy for her fellow man. I hope she can change, because she is very ugly on the inside. People talk about outer beauty and inner beauty all the time. I see no inner beauty in that woman. Someone just needs to shake her, look her in the eyes, and remind her that little boy was 2 years-old.

I am sure her parents and family want as little do with her as possible. If she were my child, I would be so humiliated and feel like a complete failure as a parent. I would simply realize I had failed as a parent. I am very excited at becoming a Parent someday soon, it is something I think about every day. If I raise a Daughter who turns out like this woman.....I will know I failed my Daughter as a Dad.

Disney World was warned about the alligator problem in its Seven Seas Lagoon but looked the other way because high-paying guests enjoyed feeding the creatures, a report has claimed.

Management had been warned by park staff that guests at the $2,000-a-night waterfront Bora Bora Bungalows were feeding the alligators, but ignored requests to build protective fences, a park insider said, according to TheWrap.

I play golf with him twice per week.  We now call him Dr. Sparky.  Not to be confused with "Old Sparky," the name of Florida's electric chair for administering the death penalty.

The local TV stations visited him to get the story.  Here are two reports.

In the wake of Hurricane Hermine, many Floridians are having to put up with an unpleasant stench in the air.
According to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection via WTSP, tens of millions of gallons of sewage has been released into the waters of Tampa Bay and into watersheds all over Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando counties.
After heavy rain from Hermine backed up aging sewer systems unable to handle big storms throughout the region, partially treated water along with raw sewage spewed from manholes, forcing cities to dump partially treated water to handle the backup at wastewater treatment plants.

That's pretty common after a flood. Most people know that you can't drink unboiled
or unbottled water for quite some time afterwards. However, every time you will see
people out playing in it because they don't know that they are playing in raw sewage
mixed with rain water runoff.

Continuing with the theme of anger at fast food restaurants. As best I remember most of these incidents have been at McDonalds.

Quote
A Florida woman was arrested Saturday night after storming into a Wendy’s and trashing the restaurant because she was unhappy with the food she had received at the drive-thru window, police report...

Gipson, cops say, began arguing with Scott Anthony Bui, a Wendy’s manager who eventually closed the drive-thru window while Gipson was parked outside.

Seen above, Gipson then got out of her vehicle and “began verbally engaging the victim” inside Wendy’s. According to court filings, Gipson began “flipping and pushing items off the counter” and “deliberately splashed pink lemonade onto [Bui’s] face/chest area.”

Living in Tampa, I hope it stays east.  We are already soaked (4" rain on Sunday evening, just a local storm).

A day or two ago I was thinking about delightful weather.  A large hurricane will draw moisture from over 100 miles away, creating low humidity in the distant areas. Great golf weather!  This storm is so big we may get bands of light rain in Tampa.

The northeast corner of a hurricane is the high impact zone.  Unless the storm shifts even farther west (still possible), the east coast of Florida will avoid catastrophic damage.  Huge waves and big erosion will be a problem.  And some idiots like to surf such storms.

I was in Homestead 2 days after impact running down box trucks with supplies. I saw much worse than missing roofs. CBS block homes were leveled and semi trucks were sitting on warehouse roofs.

I was living in Coral Springs at the time. We lost about 10 Australian pines from the wind that far north.

Hurricane Wilma we lost power for several weeks. We siphoned gas from our boats to run generators and worked outside on our laptops while we ate BBQ. We made a lot of money online those two weeks as a large number of people in our industry took time off.

I have gone out surfing in most of the hurricanes. Before landfall, during the eye, and after. No big deal tbh. Waves are garbage and overblown unless it sits right off the coast.

The projected track of Matthew has shifted farther west, running along the coast, likely coming on land for awhile as a Category 4.

This is very serious.  Millions of people will be without power, many perhaps for days because there are not enough crews to repair outages.  Crews from GA, SC and NC normally come south during a storm to supplement the manpower.  For Matthew, those crews need to be kept in their own states to deal with Matthew as it moves northward.

It seems Alex and his wife will miss the brunt of the storm as Matthew will go ashore well north of his location late tonight.  The track can change.

Yikes. I had gone through hurricane Sandy while living in NJ. Lost power for 8 friggin days after the storm. We had crews that came over from all over as far as Alabama to repair fallen lines. I spent 8 nights in front of the fireplace as gas was still available. Was able to cook food of course but nothing from the fridge even though I had portable power and it lasted only a few hours. It was cold 8 nights. Not fun. Good luck to all in Florida, a state I want to move to if it still exists.  :P

It'll be there. This isn't Florida's first rodeo. I grew up and in fact my elderly father is still there along with some other family members just inland off the coast of Georgia. Some of the models are calling it a direct hit.

Growing up there were a number of hurricanes that came our way. Not once did we ever consider evacuation in fact it was a call to party. Mostly they amounted to nothing but wind, rain and a reason to be holed up for 24 hours or so. Seems the intensity is much stronger now than then. Seems so anyways.

Naked woman chases thief down road after her purse is stolen from sauna

A naked woman braved more than embarrassment as she ran down the road after a thief believed to have stolen her purse at a sauna.

Bizarre footage shows a young woman wrapped in nothing but a towel dashing through the reception at the sauna in St Petersburg, Russia.

The CCTV footage shows her running out of the entrance to the baths and chasing the thief down the road, to the bemusement of stunned on-lookers.

Despite practically baring all, the woman doesn't appear too bothered about losing her loosely-fitting towel.

Very common these days. I think it is linked to low testosterone in men, which has been declining over the last few decades. They say modern mans role in taking care of the children even lowers testosterone. There are several studies on this I believe.

I googled this.  One study in 2011, which found that men's testosterone drops after they become fathers.  That is within a month of a child's birth.  That makes sense, as evolutionarily, a child would need the protection of a father to live.  I don't know of studies that have found stay at home fathers have lower testosterone.  There are also studies that gay men have the highest levels of testosterone.

I suspect the aforementioned fetish, if it is indeed becoming more prevalent, is due to online porn availability rather than a decrease in testosterone.

The male still desires sex, the female availablility for sex separates humans from almost all species.  Of all offspring in the animal kingdom,  the human baby is denfenseless for a the longest period of time.  The father is indeed needed for protection.  That is pehaps one of the reasons why the human female evolved to make herslf available for sex ouside of her ovulation periods - keep the horny dude close to home.  Sexuality in tha animal kindom has many quirks including bisexuality, cuckolding, prostitution, cannibalism,  coercion, necrophilia, etc.

If the same study from Cebu it spanned five years and held true for those more involved in the follow up years later. Testosterone levels stayed low with fathers who spent more time with children. They even went back up when a father lost his children it says. But yes, lowest results were immediately after childbirth.

http://www.pnas.org/content/108/39/16194.full (http://www.pnas.org/content/108/39/16194.full)

I personally don't think test levels have anything to do with whether someone is gay or not. I have known many that are on both sides of the spectrum.

Sitting at a desk job also lowers testosterone in men these days as do lifestyle choices.

If you venture in the cuckold forums you will see that men who are into this lifestyle have gone in and been tested for hormone levels and they confirm that they have abnormally low test levels. Many men have lost their balls these days so to say...

The discs could be exchanged by the monkeys for various treats. During one chaotic incident, a researcher observed what appeared to be a monkey exchanging a disc for sex. The monkey that was paid for sex immediately traded the silver disc for a grape. The researcher took steps to prevent any possibility of coins being traded for sex after his suspicions were aroused.

Bill, they have any type of forum you can think of and many you have never heard of   :)

I suppose a woman who is unsatisfied by physical attributes or her partners drive. Some may do it to please their partner. Or she puts a lot of weight on the more physical aspects of a relationship yet enjoys the stability and income her partner brings  to the table.

Not sure which member that was but my guess is that a virgin would not have experienced someone better in bed, so he would not have had to cave in to her demands.

Back to Florida, specifically Coral Springs in the Southeastern part of the state.

What goes through the pea-sized brain of a little guy who decides to rob a very large and muscular man? For the metric folks the former wrestler is over two meters tall and weighs about 130 kgs.

The robber initially approached the wrestler and demanded that he buy him a beer. When the wrestler refused the robber tried to rob him.

The wrestler body slammed him on the pavement outside the store. This robber should be entered in the annual Darwin awards.

Title: Fight over hard-boiled egg at Denny's
Post by: Larry1 on December 23, 2016, 03:45:25 PM
I regularly post news stories about fights arising over food. This is the first fight I have heard about over a hard-boiled egg. The fight occurred in a Denny's restaurant, which I believe to be the location of more fights than any other restaurant chain, after McDonalds and the all time fight leader Chuck E. Cheese.

An argument between two Denny’s workers “over a hard boiled egg” was broken up yesterday by a South Carolina cop, according to a police report.

In response to a 911 call about a “disturbance between employees,” a sheriff’s deputy arrived at the eatery in Spartanburg around 10:30 PM.

The cop learned that workers Nancy Michelle Kirkpatrick, 56, and Quanisha Dre’Shawn Fenn, 21, had “got into an argument over a hard boiled egg.” During the squabble, Fenn said, Kirkpatrick called her a “bitch.” “After that,” a cop reported, “Ms. Fenn called her mother.”

http://thesmokinggun.com/buster/dennys/dennys-hard-boiled-egg-dispute-648931

Quanisha's mother then came to Denny's and got into a fight with Nancy. You can read  the police report at the link.

I wish the police report had gone into detail about the nature of the argument. Was it over eating the egg or cooking it? For most of my life I made hard-boiled eggs wrong by overcooking them. All too often the eggs came out with that unsightly olive green layer around the yellow yolk.

But I learned a technique that eliminated that. Put the eggs into water, bring the water to a boil, then turn off the heat and let them sit in the water for a time. This ensures that they cook through but do not overcook.
Title: Re: Bizarre activities, most of which took place in Florida

Of course Ms. Fenn was trying to squirrel away the egg.  As far as she was concerned, it was a part of the Fenn Treasure.  (Further citations required.)

Title: Florida wife pummels husband for refusing to have sex with her
Post by: Larry1 on January 13, 2017, 04:30:01 PM
After her husband refused to have sex with her, a 61-year-old Florida woman punched her spouse in the face before twice kneeing him in the groin, according to police who arrested the woman for domestic battery.

As detailed in a criminal complaint, a tipsy Kerry Lee Pineiro last night clobbered her husband inside the couple’s condominium in Seminole. Pineiro, cops charge, became “upset” with the 60-year-old victim “after he would not have sex with her.”

There is a photo of the wife at the beach. She's not fat.

There certainly are 12 foot gators in Florida. I've seen some, but fortunately I was walking on a wooden platform which they would be hard-pressed to reach. They look prehistoric. They are scary looking in ways that 5-6 foot gators are not.

Florida has a million and a half alligators.

There is something strange about that video.
One thing is that the 'gator' walks like it's drunk [or on drugs]

The path looks about 5-ft wide, making the gator around 11-12 feet.  That's a Bull Gator.

Post by: Larry1 on February 12, 2017, 05:43:50 PM
I had never heard of virgin hair, but that was what was printed on the label of the hair extensions being sold at almost giveaway pricing at a beauty supply store in Orlando, Florida. The extensions usually sold for $50-100.

A lot of women showed up to get these extensions, the crowd refused a store request to form lines, became unruly, and the shop management called the police. The police had difficulty getting the women to back up and they pepper sprayed the crowd.

Title: Huge alligator attacks Florida golfer, pulling him into the water
Post by: Larry1 on February 12, 2017, 11:02:17 PM
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. Every golfer needs a putter he can rely on — especially when an alligator decides to play through. North Fort Myers resident Tony Aarts used his Cleveland Golf putter to subdue a 10-foot gator that attacked him Wednesday as he was approaching the fourth hole at Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club.

“As I was walking about 5 to 6 feet away from the water I heard a splash, and as soon as I heard that splash I knew it was an alligator, and he got me,” Aarts said. The gator grabbed Aarts by his right ankle. He wound up on his back and rolled into the nearby water hazard as they struggled. “I remember having a club in my hand, and as soon as he had me in the water up to my waist, I started hitting him over the head,” Aarts said.

The gator didn’t give up easily, and soon the water was up to Aarts’ chest. “He was looking at me with his big eyes, and I kept hitting him,” Aarts said. “And I’m thinking I’m getting deeper and deeper, and I thought you’re not gonna get me.”

A subtle change of club technique helped turn the tide in Aarts’ favor.
“I started hitting him in the eye socket,” Aarts said. “I hit him three times and he let go of my foot, so I crawled back out and by that time the guys were there.”

The guys were officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, who captured the gator and put it down.

Aarts has been living in Florida for more than 35 years and has seen plenty of gators — just not this close. “It’s a good thing I had that putter,” he said. “It’s a good, solid, heavy putter.”

The fight left him with an amazing story to tell, as well as some advice to impart to others on the course. “I guess a golfer should always keep a club in his hand,” Aarts said.

Gator, I understand that you are a frequent golfer in the Sunshine State. Perhaps you should consider buying a Cold Steel tactical 9 iron designed to put through the eye or the brain of an alligator.

Florida sure takes the term "water hazard" literally, don't they? Lets just throw a couple gators in there... make it a real hazard!

Gator, I understand that you are a frequent golfer in the Sunshine State. Perhaps you should consider buying a Cold Steel tactical 9 iron designed to put through the eye or the brain of an alligator.

A 10-footer is not to be messed with.  Especially if they have eggs/babies nearby.

If my ball rolls up next to a 6-ft gator or less, I will walk up with a closed umbrella (golf umbrellas are big), point the umbrella at the gator, and open it quickly.  The umbrella looks like a big mouth and scares the gator away.

For bigger gators, I throw golf balls at them from a few yards.  A hit in their ribs will usually make them leave.  I did that one time to one the size of the Bismarck, and he later swam up near the green and gave me the evil eye.

At my club in Tampa, a large attacked a professional golf ball diver.   The gator rolled the diver to dismember him,   The same as the Ft. Meyers gator, the diver thrust his thumb into the eye socket and the gator let loose of him.  The diver had some serious injuries, but not life-threatening, and required weeks of rehabilitation.

Florida girl pries open alligator's jaws to set herself free from attack

A 10-year-old Florida girl was attacked by an alligator while sitting in shallow water, but her quick and calm thinking saved her life.
The girl pried open the 8-foot-9-inch reptile's mouth to fee her leg after it lunged at her on Saturday at the designated swimming area of an Orlando-area park, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reports (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/05/08/florida-girl-10-pries-open-alligators-jaws-to-free-herself.html).
A lifeguard was on duty when the attack happened and four of the girl's family members were present.
Officials from Florida Fish and Wildlife found the gator and killed it.

Local residents in Switzerland often have a say in citizenship applications,

It is still very difficult to be granted Swiss citizenship and being born in
the country does not give the children or even the grandchildren of

Woman hides a loaded gun in her Vajay-jay? My guess is that
she's not the best sex partner.

APRIL 27--A Missouri woman who had a loaded handgun hidden in her
vagina at the time of her arrest last year today pleaded guilty to weapons
possession and narcotics charges.

She brings new meaning to the common term "Banging Someone".

More of the same.

A boy I went to junior high and high school with had an older brother who spent time in county jail several times.  Each time for more serious crimes and eventually was sent to state prison.  I moved away and lost the gossip; but years later I heard from locals that the guy admitted he liked it in prison, and spent most of his remaining years there.  When he would be released, he did something to be re-incarcerated.

A Los Angeles-based brand is selling jeans for $168 that leave very little to the imagination. Denim company Carmar debuted its "extreme cut out (http://carmardenim.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/extreme-cut-out-jean)" jeans and people on social media couldn't believe how bare they are and wondered who would even buy them.

Seriously?

From the article:

Quote
A father and son in South Carolina had to idle in the road last weekend, while a 9-foot gator dragged a bloody, bloated carcass across the pavement.

Watch the video. That's something you don't see in the UK or France. Not even in Russia.
