Do you know where this is?

I was there and now I can't remember the name of the place. It is outside of Moscow and if I could find my journal...but I can't. These are digis of 35 mm photos I took while in Russia circa early nineties. I have a bunch, WOW the memories! I'm going to post some later but for now I'd be happy if someone recognizes the place or can read the sigh :)

Been there.  Sergeiv was a real man the way he lived!

There are several fascinating day trips from Moscow that travelers should see rather than stay in Moscow all the time.  The same can be said for Kiev and St. Piter.

While in Moscow I went to Sergeiv Posad, Suzdahl, a former artist colony, a dacha, summer camp (to see the kids), etc.  My wife did not like these day trips so much as she preferred to combine our travel time and go somewhere warm.

The second photo is of a legend of statues that adorn the area,
with their locations numbered. Looks like a neat place to visit.

Hey! I was just there 3 weeks ago! Recognized it from the photo! We took a taxi there and enjoyed the Moscow traffic for 5 hours hotel to hotel. Cost about $160US (Paid 5,000 rub). Ouch. Oh well, wanted to get out of Moscow for some good clean air. It was cold there and we warmed ourselves by stepping inside the tall tower building which sells religious stuff. L berated be by saying huffily "an icon is not a souvenier!!!" Well to me it is  ;D and I bought 2 of them!

About Siberians we say: A Siberian (Sibiryak) is not a person who never feels cold but a person who is dressed warm.  :)
