Visa Interview Time Approaching
« on: October 17, 2009, 12:08:55 PM »
My fiance will be traveling to Kiev this week  from Dneptroptvosk for her medical exam. Upon her completion of her physical it will be time to schedule the consulate interview.

I have just mailed the package to her with the original documents she will need for her interview. (Thank you Anastassia Ash !!!!! You are a life saver)

I should add I have to contact Kiev as I mailed an affadavit of support but the original documents I filed, which included the W2"s, and letter from employer were sent out with original application. I failed to make a copy of those documents. Grrrrrrrrrr

On the fiance's checklist of documents to bring it states affadavit of support and related documents as to employment. I am now wondering if her visa may be denied if she does not have these original documents?

I am planning on sending an email to the conulate for clarification. Any other ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Jake

Any chance of getting a new copy of your w-2 and letter from your employer?   They would have your complete file in front of them but I do think they like those supplied at the time of the interview.   If worst comes to worst you would get a 221-G which is a blue slip with the scary title "Intent to deny".   All it really means is that they need those and the visa will be issued when they receive them.  The odds are that she would slide through ok but it is better not to take chances.  Probably if she is denied you could fax a copy to the embassy and they would put the visa through with only a few days delay.  She won't get a flat out refusal over those.

Worse case scenerio is they will ask for the documents and when they recieve them it would be approved. My opinion is not to worry. Anything you sent with the original 129F should be in front of them at the interview. If I understand correctly the whole "package" is sent to the interview so they should have these documents.

This is not something they would flat out deny a visa for.

But my understanding is that "Anything Goes" does not really mean "anything" if that "anything" violates the TOS.

It is my understanding that they want a Employee letter and  affidavit of support dated close to the interview date. I do not know how long your petition took to get approved.

You do not get anything back from the original petition you sent in. You will still need your W-2 for AOS.

I would try and get them now. She will not be denied, but may delay the process.

I would try visajourney.

good luck!!

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and insight.

My petition approv  al time was approximately four months. Anastassia Ash spoke with my fiancee today. The packet of information received by my fiancee requires the listed documentation which she needs to bring to the consulate interview.

1)   Notarized tax return from the year 1998

2)    2008 W2 forms

3)    copies of bank accounts  and assets

4)    letter from employer

5)    Form I-134

Fiance will be receiving medical this week in Kiev. I will put together the above listed documents to send prior to the consulate interview.

Don't forget to have some photos of you two together. They really like photos, they specifically ask for some photos at our interview.

The medical exam is easy enough. If she has or can get her vaccinations records. The doctor can translate them for her. It will be helpful down the road.

Everyone at the Embassy was very friendly and the interview painless.

Good luck!!

Why do they need a 1998 tax return or is that a typo? Or are implying they need tax returns FROM 1998 TO present? Still a bit strange.

Don't know if you ever go to visajourney.com, but they have reviews from people who had interviews at various consulates and what they experienced.

Good News --- : )

The future Mrs. completed her medical exam in Kiev yesterday. Apparently the networking has begun as she met a young woman destined for Minnesota and also another woman destined for Australia.

After they were finished with the medical they all went out for a drink of champane for  celebration and congratulations.

I couldnt help but notice the excitement in her voice as as she revealed all the details of the days events. It is looking more and more that the pre Thanksgiving arrival will become a reality.

It sounds wonderful. I grew up in Minnesota so I have a biased opinion  :D. I hope your interview goes well. I am expecting mine to be shortly myself. So I wish you luck.
