I got some really sad news today.
« on: December 27, 2009, 01:39:17 PM »
As some of you here that has been around for at least 6 or 7 years on these boards, well you know my story of how I went to meet another girl and while there met my wife in the train station. I had met a guy named Matt Schwartz in the market under my apartment on Khreshatic St in Kiev. We ended up being good friends and used to coincide our trips together. He really showed me the ropes kinda and helped me save lots of money on calling cards, apartment and airline tickets. We had always emailed and talked on the phone since 2001. Well back some time ago I lost contact with him. No returned calls and email. I knew something wasnt right. I mean this was the guy that helped me catch the taxi to the train station to buy the ticket when I met my wife. He was a very nice guy to me and my family. We hung out a lot in Kiev while I was dating my wife. This is the guy that took me to Obriens for the first time. Matt was never really a boards guy. He was from Great Neck Long Island and I was from South Georgia but we were buddies. Well after a quick goggle searce I find out that Matt was found dead in his apartment in Irving Texas back in April or May. I'm still digging as I would like to express my condolences with his family if he had one. Seems I remember hearing about a sister. This is really sad. I know he did some charity work over there with some orphanages. It's just too weird reading his emails to us now. He would always ask about our daughter. It's really messed up.
