Generally, fertility is about 55% at 35 years of age of what it was at 25 years.  However, 2/3 of women will have little or no problem conceiving after 35 (meaning, getting pregnant within the first year they try). 

In the U.S., there were more babies born to mothers over 40 in the 1960's than there are now.  But, most of those weren't firstborns.

I think it is universal at some age feel you want to setle down and have kids. I also think this age is higher in the west, whatever this statistic says, and I really dont believe the stated numbers for FSU.

My brother who has a wife in my age (40) got two kids in two years. They knew it was now or never. This is maybe the extreme, just waiting to find the ideal timing (which never comes)

The girls I have been communicating with find it strange if you do not have a child by 25. But of course there are a lot of diferences, and no statistics in that.

she had fertility treatment (in vitro fertilization), when they plant many embryos in, give the woman tons of fertility meds, and hope for 1 or 2 to survive. If more than 2 survive, common practice is they abort the extra ones and leave maximum two, because otherwise its too dangerous. She refused to abort the extra surviving ones.
The rate of live babies born from all women who had IVF done, sometimes multiple times, is less than 50%

I haven’t read the whole thread …. but.

I spent the day last Saturday in a Ukrainian City, Bride & Groom watching (thats not why I was there ). I reckon I must have seen 20 couples who had just tied the knot. With one exception I reckon most couples were late teens to early 20’s. For the couple that weren’t in that age group then she was around 25 and he in his early 40’s.

What I am tryin to say, there is no book on how you make this.

We all have our own way to be happy, some of us find it, some of us just get frustrated. Some of us find friendship for ever. Some of us find something we call love. But not all of us realize that love is a lifetime commitment.

I just get the feeling, after reading some trip reports, that the whole search is not so bad locally r internationaolly. It is a obviously a kick to find your dresm.

This is not a critisism to anyone. It is more like me doing some soulsearching.

My first time to Kyiv I was taking in the culture sites and near the old monastery and Afghan memorial there is the statue of the three brothers on the Dnipro which I am told is a traditional place for a good luck ritual for newlyweds.  I was there long enough to get the impression that on that day everyone getting married was very young--that straight out of high school look.  Certainly not able to fight statistical analysis, but I confirm what you saw.

Teen pregnancy is one of the problems in Ukraine as in Russia too. According to the Ukraine law the marriage age for women is 17 and with the law's amendment even 14 if it is in a woman's interest.

This is problematic in USA as well, as I'm certain you already know OlgaH. It's a huge problem.
