Met a nice RW on a dating site

So I met a nice Russian woman on an international dating site for disabled people.  She left me a long e-mail which include her e-mail address.  Well for some reason her profile either got deleted or she took it off, I dunno which.  Anyways we started talking via e-mail and IM chats.  She is a very nice woman who is a deaf/mute.  She wants to come over and meet me, however she doesn't have the money even though she does have a job working at a store.  She has not asked me for money, and I have not offered any.  Mainly because I am trying to sniff out a scam.  However, for the mean time I am enjoying talking to someone who is disabled and who I can relate to.

Are you being scamophobic? Remember to never send money to someone you have never met. Until you have met her in the flesh, you have never met. If you are enjoying the banter, explore it and see where it goes. If she is on the up and up, she'll never ask you for money so sending her money won't be an issue. Scammers are scum of the highest order, one working a disabled site would be even worse. Relax, get to know her and enjoy yourself.

Pretty simple, do not send her money and you won't be taken for a ride. Are there discussions of thinking of you all day and love, ect. ect.?

My wife is from Cheboksary. A very nice small city on the Volga River. But also home to a whole industry of scammers. For them to move onto a disabled web page would be a new low.

There are many things here which add up to being cautious... i am sure it has happened before, but in my experience, I've never had a woman invite herself to come meet me.  She has always invited me to come meet her.  The "I want to come meet you but I don't have any money" is generally the way the scam starts.  Not saying it is or isn't with what you've written, but as said upthread, don't send money, and don't get emotionally invested with a pen pal whom you've never met.

She has the perfect defense against speaking on the phone... so she could be anyone on the other side of the computer.  Tell her you'll visit her there.  If she starts making a million excuses as to why that's a bad idea, that'll be another bad sign.

Well it turns out that she was a scammer.  She claimed to come short of her goal of saving up enough money to come see me, and although she never came out and say it, she hinted at wanting me to send her money.  I ended up telling her flat out that I cannot give her money (I really can't), and she turned it into something about me hating her for being deaf/mute and she stopped talking to me.

Good riddance to old rubbish. I/O was prophetic. They are indeed at disabled sites.

NCpilot correct me if I am wrong but,  weren't you here a year or so ago. A fairly recent widower at that time and disabled? Or am I mistaken?
