How does her community feel about you marrying her?

Not sure how the community feels about you marrying a local gal.
It seems some say that a lot persons in the community feel jealous and want to punish her for some reason.  This does not seem to fit in with those who say that the community feels sad for her and promises her she will soon be back with a divorce soon enough.
Some say her boss will cut her paycheck and everyone kinda feels free to gouge her with higher prices because her foreign husband should pick up the tab.
Some also say her family and friends will pressure her to get goodies and freebies for them to enjoy.

Not sure what to think, but it seems no one ever has anything positive to say about her finding a foreign husband.  Sure, there are some bad apples out there, but many of the marriages seem to be to decent and upstanding men.  One would think that the community would be happy for those women who found good husbands.

I mean are they any instances of Ukrainian or Russian cultural stories that espouse foreign marriages?   I mean there has to some good stories or why else would any girl think about doing one?

Our media ridicules and looks down at foreign marriages and helps forge the stereotype that we men are desperate, abusers and losers and the foreign women are desperate and willing to be slaves to us. The foreign media is no different than ours pertaining to this issue and RW hear the horror stories too. Some RW do not let the horror stories of someone elses bad experience shown on tv or through word of mouth discourage them and they still choose to seek a better man and live in a better environment for their future family elsewhere.
