Recap: about 60 people arrested in Yoshkar-ola for scamming, in the first group one of organizators got 4 years of actual prison and 320 bucks fine, the rest got probation and 160 bucks fine, there are more people to be tried. Most of scammers were local students (males :P )
First time i see scammers actually get punished.

Did the prosecutor disclose specific scams (whom, money received, etc.)?

How did the prosecutor learn about the scam?

How did the prosecutor learn about the scam?
From the article:

The scammers were operating between 2004 and 2007. In total a number of 412 victims were found with a total damage of around USD 350.000.

There are still 39 people to be trialed, among which the leaders of the operation.

I guess either the business got slow, or the leaders became greedy.  ;D
