Aussie currently in Ukraine
« on: June 21, 2010, 06:22:01 AM »
Hi All,

Rob's my name and I would like to just try and give a run down on my journey to now.
Had a early marriage to and Aussie girl and divorced by age 32. Single for 9 years, but having travelled through Russia for work and being introduced to the delights of Slavic women had a few younger girlfriends. Ended up marrying a young Russian girl I met in Turkey on the beach in Kemer, after a year commuting to her home town month on/off. Things were fine in Russia but once she moved to Australia it was all down hill from there. She refused point blank to assimilate, and treated me like utter dogsh*t. We had a child which actually was my salvation as some joy came from our union.

She asked to seperate 2 weeks after her passport came through! and actually that was some relief to me as our son was getting old enough to understand his mom did not love his dad. I allowed her to continue living in my home for 6 months in an attempt to give her a chance to get on her straps financially. Of course I soon discovered she was sleeping with my neighbour while using me for child care when she was supposed to be at work. Coming to a financial agreement took time, and yes she played all the usual cards including threatening to claim being abused etc.

Now a year down the track I am in the Ukraine, where I have friends, having a holiday.
About 6 months ago I guy I knew in Australia asked me about a site called Hot Russian Brides and if they were scammers. I did not know them and had a look. I was interested in the ability to video chat the girls in an effort to prove they are real, but quickly appreciated just how much of a money earner that is for the site owners. I suspect that many of the girls are somehow "paid" for their efforts but have no proof of this, but having joined myself found many of the girls leading you further down the monetary path if they could.

I had correspondance and chat with one girl for 4 months, where we wrote on alternate days. They were " real" and detailed conversations about life and love, and at no time did anything discussed cause me any concerns. There were no sick relatives, no requests for gifts, no suggestions for trips etc. When I first told her of my plan to come to Ukraine in the summer, she asked if there was any chance I could come sooner.......I couldn't. Then when I asked for her approval for "intimate" contact where you pay to escape HRB censorship to other free chat ot email arraingements, she said she would approve it but not give me her address, email or mobile number. I asked why then she would approve it and was told then the agency could arrainge our meeting the first time. I considered that to be overly cautious given the history of our conversation but agreed and sent her all my contact information.

As soon as I gave her the date of my actual arrival, all of a sudden she tells a story of being offered a major job in Kiev ans how she fears she might not be there when I arrive! I explain I will be flying through Kiev anyway so no problem, to be told "no, I will be working 6 days a week till 2000 at night and I can not promise anything". Then next day, "I will leave the site and contact you in a month or two after things have settled with my move, and job", acompanied by a last photo and "I will never forget you and V...."
All she got from me was flowers a couple of times (intial and birthday) so all my expenses profited the agencies involved not her unless she was being paid for her time.

Does anyone here know of "Sunnyann", Anna (Anya) from Pavlograd, via Hot Russian Brides?

Her profile definately dissapeared from their site, so was her excuse real, or has she done this to others and turned up on different sites?

Anyway, I am in the Ukraine now, and as luck would have it have been meeting someone else who does exist (is too young probably), but that's another story.

Cheers, and thanks for the site. I am glad I have stumbled across it.

G'day mate...  this the girl?  http://www.russiablushingbride.com/post/2009/09/0a09SunnyAnn-s-Russian-Bride-Profile-Details0a.aspx

Be careful though... the profile is full of fluffy words...

Imagine saying to her,  "So,  tell me a little more about yourself"

... and she responds, "I am an owner of a beautiful soul that keeps love and mysteries that can be available for my special man??? .As soon as you get to know me better you will understand what kind of person I am : giving, loving, soft but at the same time responsible and reliable???.I will be a right life partner for my man???.He will be happy to share every moment of his life with me???as I have so much to give him???..
Looking For: My man is an appreciator of the life, love and his woman. He is romantic, has a good sense of humor, likes pets and nature, respects people. He is a man, whom I share my inner light with???. "

Would drive me nuts personally.  :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

*Stop asking her questions*   ;D

Hope you're having fun in Ukraine.  Where are you?  How long do you plan to stay?  Where from in Oz?

Inceidentally,  your ex-wife need not wait till she got her Aust passport before leaving you.  If it was JUST about an immigration scam she could quite happily leave after 2 yrs when her permanent residency hits...  or seeings she claimed abuse anyway,  she could have done that on the day of arrival and received permanent residency without waiting out the R2 yrs or 4 yrs.

All the best of there (lucky bastard!)  ;-)

I am surprised some pissed off guy hasnt tracked down the owners of companys like HRB and beat the living sh1t out of them. I really am.
Azureroo. The real scam is you sitting on the net paying to chat with this gal. These girls get paid to chat. Its like a regular job for them.
Many guys here have posted the same story you have about HRB or AWEB. No matter how wonderful, young or goodlooking the guy thinks he is it always ends the same way. Bad for the guy.

Hi Azureroo,

Thanks for sharing.  You have my sympathy for negative experiences.  Yet, you are back in the saddle after getting thrown.

Anyone with the name "sky blue kangaroo" has to be a good guy.

Been there, done that.  However, I waited only one year for things to improve.  Compared to your divorce, mine was painless, although neither my attorney nor I are ready to nominate my ex-wife for an award.  :D

As they say, what does not kill you, makes you stronger.  Certainly wiser as you showed with HRB.

Kuna,

Splendid to see you here.  For those that don't know Kuna, you have missed a lot.

Shouldn't your avatar have a different look?  I offer more appropriate examples using America's only marsupial.

Hi Azureroo,

HRB is well known for having girls paid to talk to clients. The worst thing you can do is actually show up, as that will drive them in to panic mode, as you experienced.

However do not worry, there is plenty of roo-loving fish in the sea there. ;D
If you see any woman smiling at you, try to get her number. FSUW have a tendency not to smile withour reason.  ;D
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Thanks guys for the welcome, and kind words.

Yes Kuna, you have indeed hit the mail on the head.....that is her.
As I said the funny thing was there was none of the usual flags, and when I talked about "real" conversations I meant things like books recommened, read and discussed! and she NEVER asked for anything, not even chat instead of letters......although we did over that time have a couple of hour long chats that would have cost $50 I guess now I think about it :-(

As always there is more to the story:
A few weeks later I get a letter from a different girl from Pavlograd called "Luccia" different girl but identical poses and make up, and a story about joining because her friend had encouraged her. Well Miss Anya had mentioned encouraging friends, so I tried a bit of "baiting" and asked dirrectly if she was Anya's friend, or sister, and how was she going in Kiev. Luccia stated "oh she's back now, if you are friends I will give her a message", and she stated they had used the same makeup and photographer but how could I tell? This girl was very interested to know what charges I was paying for different things on the site, and I told her to not consider me a "prospect" as I was bruised by her friend Anya's actions. She then proceeded to tell me she was not really available either as her russian boyfriend had re-appeared and she was going to give it another shot. The following day she sends me a long letter thanking me for the frank chat and my honesty, saying she was about to delete her profile but thaT she had spoken to Anya who claimed to want to contact me but had lost my email when she deleted her profile from HRB. I did send it again, but of course heard nothing back, as I expected by this time.

Kuna, was that another site posting, or a scam posting? it did not display properly on the computer I am using

Shadow, thanks mate, I have found out how easy it is to smile and claim to be an Aussie.....seems to go down a little better than some other nationalities, sorry guys :-)

Gator, cheers mate. Yes she could have gone earlier, but I think she was just too lazy to make a life for herself earlier, and I am someone who persists, back to the wall sort of thing.....rightly or wromgly.
But as you have correctly surmised I am the kind of guy to get back up, dust off and try again just a little wiser.

Facetrock, thanks also

cheers guys, I am having a great time, and after a few weeks in Russia seeing my boy, will return to spend another 2 weeks down at the beach in Odessa.........Bring it on!! :-)

Naah mate,  it was just another blog site advertising their "services".

Sadly,  pay for chat doesn't require a request for money... they're doing nicely through the chat.

Envious of you being there at the moment though.  There's so many things I miss but we'll be back again in September.

All the best!

HAHAHAHA.... yeah Gator,  I'll have to find a new avatar.

Our new little boy has arrived... life continues to challenge and change,  but we're very happy.

I'll let this thread get back on-topic and post an update soon.

LoL.. I liked that one he had a while back with the propeller legs.

Welcome to the board Azureroo.  As Facetrock mentions, the ladies do make money to chat, and it has been said that the gifts such as flowers or candy are not actually given but rather the cash is split between girl and agency.  It's a big money maker which fleeces the keyboard romeos who will never make the trip anyway, but unfortunately, sometimes the sincere guys get hung up with them.

According to Kievstar (a member here) and a couple other you can meet them, date them, etc, but you pretty much have to do it from inside the home office, in person, rather than from the internet.

Sorry to hear about the problem(s) with the first FSUW marriage, but at least you're free from the anchor of a loveless situation.  Welcome back to the saddle and good luck..  8)
