Hello - first time here

I am now courting a woman in Ekatrinaburg, Russia.  Figured I would gain some knowledge from y'all here.

I have met the woman from rbrides.com.  I figured out many of the women are scams, but this one is not AFAICT.  She will not accept money for the English classes she just started, we have real skype and ICQ sessions all the time, I found her mail.ru social site with friends, pictures, and other such things.... so I am quite pleased at the moment.

It sounds like you have found a good penpal/friend. These are all good signs that qualify for a potential visit. How long have the two of you been talking? When do you plan your first visit?

As you mention in your second sentence, you are here for some knowledge, let me recommend (what dogspot is leaning towards telling you) that you make plans to see this woman sometime relatively soon if you feel she is sincere with her feelings to meet you, and you have these same feelings as well. Very few of these women, except those paid to correspond, to write, to video chat, want a long time correspondence. Most these women are going to want to meet any man they have a real interest in as soon as possible.

If you have been writing this woman for say, one month, I think you should be making plans to see this woman within the next few months.  Yes it will be winter time but I think it is best not to wait 7 or 8 months for spring.

I just started a new job, so I cannot visit her until probably April 2011.
I have explained this to her, and she said she will wait for me.

Yea, I hope this works.  She is 3 years younger than me - I don't fancy a relationship with a girl 10+ years younger that me.  So I searched for a beautiful girl my age, who seems open-minded and fun.  She knows I don't make much $$$.  She knows I am divorced, and why I am divorced.  And she has a zillion current pictures of my fat ass

She won't talk with me on the phone yet - she knows no English.  She said the classes start next week, and she won't let me send her a birthday gift (just turned 35) and won't let me pay for classes.

May I make a few suggestions?  I have been to Ekaterinburg, as my fiance lives there.  It is a frozen abyss in the winter.  If you wait until May, the weather will be much more pleasant, and I think you will have a more pleasant (and productive) visit, since you can visit parks, the Ural Mountains, etc, and also walk around the city in relative comfort.

As for the phone, there are translation services available where you call the translator and she initiates a three way call to your woman and gives you live interpretation by the hour.  Usually you call for 15 to 20 minutes, so the cost is not that much.  After talking with you this way, her confidence increases, and maybe she will become OK with direct two way talk with whatever English she knows.

Also, if you need letters translated, my fiance does this and has been doing it for many years.  Many other Russian ladies do this too, so I am not suggesting using my fiance in particular, but I can get you in touch with her if you want.

It is really great that she feels independent enough to want to pay for things on her own.  It is good of you to offer to pay these things for her, and I am sure your generosity is not going unnoticed by her.

I think you have a winner here.  Take your time with her, build on what you have, and let it grow into something really great.
