If you did a thorough check here and you couldn't find any leads then I suggest you might be best to continue to date at home.

well Vinny and I would recomend you get a bit of common sence and just some basic respect for  others. Some of us werent born with a mouse or computer keyboard in their hands and when a site has link after link and thousands of pages to read or click on its a bit complicated. So I dont think  asking for some info from a forum dedicated to providing info is a strech

Thank you for your reply dgc. I recommend you change your opening post to this:

Hello everyone, great site you have … so much valuable information for a newbie but where to start?

My name is xxxxx, I am aged xx and from xxxxxx. I am looking for a FSU lady aged between xx and xx.

Can anyone please recommend to me a good agency or listing site where they have had good experience? Obviously I am trying to minimise the possibilities of being scammed and communicating with ‘fake’ women.

I am sure there are lots of pointers hidden within the many hundreds of threads here which I do intend to read but if somebody could kindly give me a head start then I would be truly thankful.

I hope you all have a super day.
  :D

Ahhhh! the same language translation scam already in progress! That'll be $25 per hour!

Welcome dgc.. probably the best place to start would be over in the introduction section and tell a little about yourself. Well, since this really has little to do with actual scams, and more to do with information.. I'll bump this thread over there for you.

Two sites which are recommended (there are others, but this is a start) are elenasmodels.com and singles.ru (use the English language interface). The former is a pay site with women seeking the possibility of a foreign guy.. the latter is a free site for local dating (FSU) which via a little effort on your part, can locate women open to the idea.

One of the best ways to stay away from scams is to stay away from pay per letter agencies. Way to much temptation to generate fake letters.
Try the pay per month sites. Luckylovers, RussianEuro, UkraineDate to name a few. There will be some scammers there but with a little experience you will spot a fake letter in a second. No site is completly scammer free and never will be.
The sites I mentioned do a decent job of deleting scam profiles.

Hi dgc,
welcome to the forum! You might want to do a little bit of reading here before you actively embark on your search. I'd pay special attention to the threads which discuss scam, recommended age range of your prospective lady for better chance of success, USCIS requirements in order to bring an FSU woman to the US (I assume you are American?) and off course do your research on different providers/agencies to see which one is the best fit for you.
have fun!

Welcome to RWD Dave!

Looking it over and putting it down then, looking it over again is something many before you have done as well. Vinny (as you now know was offering some good advice) like many of us doles out some good advice with a bit of a bitter flavor or a smack upside the head. Don't take it personally. After you've done it for the 100th or so times, we tend to get a bit selfish and make it entertaining for ourselves while still getting the point across. Part and parcel of helping others.  :D

Stay away from the agencies.

It's at this stage dgc that the FSU waters start to develop a little murkiness, and guys like you can be forgiven for becoming a slightly confused. The fact is there are many a good agency out there and many a good lady can be found through them.

I would suggest spending some more time at the start in educating yourself before starting any active searching.  Read the forums - the trip reports, the good and the bad, as well as the starting out and experienced sections.  You'll see that things are far from guaranteed, even from those with experience, and hopefully will throw out any ideas you may have picked up by agency myths/propaganda and such.  I think your suggested age range is fine, which is a good start.  Try to get past the 'newness' as soon as you can - there will be a lot of attractive women, but try to avoid falling in love with a picture or the idea of a foreign mate.  There will be some differences inevitably, but a sanity check of "If this woman lived next door, would I be interested, and if so, in dating or something longer term?" can be helpful now and then.

Good luck!

That is excellent advice.

DGC, there is no one site that anyone can [reliably] tell you is scam free. It is not as easy as that.

Spend two or three months trawling the forums and read everything that you can find. Go into this with your eyes open and knowing what lies ahead of you.
