Hello,
 My name is Morris and I am a full time truck driver. I have yet to find anything close to satisfactory in the mate department while driving so i am contemplating looking overseas, specifically FSU. At the moment I am testing the waters to see if my current lifestyle is compatible with this situation. I am on the road a lot so ideally would want someone who is interested in coming with me, but can understand if that isn't an option. Hopefully, I can find the answers that I am looking for and this will be an enjoyable experience for all of us.

Do you have any experience of communicating with FSU women in reality?

Have you formulated any guidelines for yourself to follow during this pursuit, such as “do not send money to anyone whom you have not met” or something like that? If your answer is “yes”, what are those guidelines?

i have met a few girls through elenasmodels but nothing long term yet. i don't plan on sending anyone anything exept maybe flowers and chocolate until i meet them as i don't like wasting money. I always profiles before looking at more than just profile pic. and i am looking for an age of 10 years up and 5 years down. aside from that haven't much to go by.
 I do know that everyone is different to a general description won't fit all and to take everything read with a grain of salt as most sites are looking to get you money more than your happiness.
 I have done some reading on the FSU and am currently attempting to learn Russian through Rosetta Stone.

Welcome to the board.  That's a tough question about the OTR work and what it entails as well as the strain on a relationship being gone three weeks at a time. Of course, ideally, you'd find a woman who would want to ride with you and see the country.  Let me say first off, the just as sure as you are breathing, a woman like that most definitely exists in any country, including the FSU, however finding her could be a bit of a challenge.

Do you have time to travel multiple times a year to meet, build a relationship? Or are you planning to try to compress the process into a single trip for marriage?

My personal experience is that I could have been married five times so far, had I filed the visa immediately after the first trip, or very early on in the process but the long term success of those possible marriages remain in question (which will never actually be answered - perhaps if I HAD married after one visit, I could have gotten lucky and the relationship(s) would not have faltered, if indeed the death was due to stresses, etc.)..  Or, I could have married and truly regretted it.. again, we'll never know. Being selective and patient is important (I think) in this process.  It's absolutely easy to get married to an FSU woman.

What about children? A woman without a child (which seems a must for you for the obvious reasons) will generally want to have them, and then you're back to the difficulty of being gone three weeks a month.  What I am getting at here, is yeah, a woman may very well want to travel with you, see the country, live the nomadic life style of an OTR trucker -- for a time, but generally would want to settle in to her home at some point.

I'd say it's possible, of course, but certainly won't be an easy venture and really may not be worth the time and effort it may require to find a woman willing to live in a truck most of the time. Never say never, but unlikely that any of the big city girls would be interested in such a life style so you'd probably need to be looking in smaller rural areas (not absolute, just a general hunch) so probably will not have much background in English (not a complete deal breaker, but another rather large challenge).  And then there's finding the rural lady... she's probably not going to be on a typical agency or even dating site.. how to find her? A good question to which I really don't have an answer...

Those are just some quick first thoughts.. I'm sure others will chime in with others..

You can absolutely find a woman who will be compatible with your work life.  You will need to be very upfront about what you do though and your expectations for her.  If she will stay home or come with you (its her choice too).  You might be surprised but I know two RW here in the USA that are married to truck drivers, both owner/operators.  One drives with her husband and the other sometimes rides along.  They are quite happy but also knew this life was okay with them.  The one who drives is into helping him manage the business too and they do pretty well.  There are many truck drivers there too (big countries) so its not an unfamiliar concept for a lday.  Its like here, you wouldn't find a girl for you in New York so likewise don't look in a huge city there either. 

As long as you don't get caught up in the pretty pictures of young things and pretend you are someone you are not, you will no doubt find a much better woman there than in the US who will be willing to marry.  Your value as someone stable and breadwinner is much higher with many ladies there than compared to the US.  You should find someone who appreciates your hard work.  I did and its like being in heaven.

As long as you have realistic expectations, decent finances (for travel), a larger than normal quantity of patience and keep your radar on, you can do this.

BTW, don't even send the flowers and chocolates.
