Hey from Florida
« on: December 14, 2010, 02:10:33 PM »
Hey all,

Just talked to my Russian lady friend, asked her if she had any lady friends back in Moscow that wanted to come to Florida and hang out with me at my waterfront house near Tampa.  She said no, but told me about this forum.  She said she used to come here chatting, her name was "Blues Fairy".  If you know her hit me up!

Oh, I speak a good bit of Russian, I lived in Kazakhstan for two years.

Kazman

Hi kazman! Welcome to RWD!

Yes Blues is legendary around here. A very intelligent and pleasant lady.

So what exactly is your interest in women from Moscow or other areas of the FSU? Are you just looking to explore, a relationship or just some local ladies to hang out with on your waterfront property? Living in Kahzak must have been an interesting experience.

Kazman,  a big welcome!  I reside in Tampa (NewTampa).  There is a relatively large population of RW in Tampa.  They get together periodically, and I was told that their email mailing list numbers over 250 RW age 25-45.  Almost all are married.

Blues Fairy,  good to see you here again.  You have been absent too long.  Your handsome laddie is  growing faster than a weed.  Don't be a stranger!

Hello Kazman. And Welcome. If Blues Fairy is a good friend of yours then I am sure you she has already given you some sound advice on what and what not to do.She has given me some ear fulls in the past.  ;D And I am also sure that she has told you that RW just don't/can't hop on a plane to hang out. Whatever your goals are I wish you well.

Hey Gator, good to see you too!  It's a lassie, only dressed as a Hobbit for Halloween. :)  She'll turn 2 in January.

I haven't had much time for forums; got a few interesting projects going on.  Besides, I'm now more interested in arguing on general themes which are off-topic here on RWD.  My 3-year wedding anniversary is nearing as well, so nothing here can surprise me any more. :)

OlgaH, about Fahrenheit I only know that this is a very nice toilet water for men  :-*

How cold would it be on good old Celsius scale?

32F is 0C, so that range will likely be in the -1 to -4 celsius range. Here's a good online conversion site you can use.....

To determine Celsius from Fahrenheit take the Fahrenheit reading subtract 32 and take the rest and divide by 1.8

As example 75 degrees Fahrenheit you would subtract 32 to get 43 and then divide that by 1.8 to get 23.88 C

What I do is just subtract the 32 and divide by 2 in my head then add a degree or two to get an approximate. Of course as GQ said 32F is 0C so you need to take the degrees below 32 and divide them by 1.8. So 25F equals 7 degrees (from 32 freezing) divided by 1.8 to get -3.88C

32F equals freezing point of water
212F equals boiling point of water

32F equals freezing point of water
212F equals boiling point of water

Exactly. Thus there's a 1.8:1 degree ratio between farenheit/celsius.

180 degrees is the temperature degrees separating freezing and boiling points for Farenheit, while only a 100 degrees separating them in Celsius (0-100).

Most of us who do it in our heads use a two-step conversion, multiply by 9 and divide by 5 (or 5/9).  I no longer have the mental capacity to  divide quickly a number by 1.8 in my head.  Going the other direction is easier (9/5).  My ex-wife used a chart or 'guestimated' from a few key numbers (in Florida, 30C = 86F)(in Moscow, 0C = 32F) (or in Siberia, -40 = -40).

Glad to know your wee one is a girl - she's too pretty to be a straight boy.   As kids grow older I am able to distinguish boys from girls.  Halloween costumes - now that is a lot of fun for kids and parents.
