Thoughts....Feelings about signing up with an agency?
« on: February 11, 2011, 01:34:35 AM »
I have allways wondered about what thoughts or feelings women may have, when the decision is being made to sign up at an agency.
Do women feel like they are embarking on an adventure? or starting a new page in their life? Do women feel a little funny or strange sometimes?

Not at all, most women, i think, sign up just to see what happens or out of curiosity. Something comes out of it, good, nothing comes out of it, oh well.

I can see that I lack some ability to communicate with the written word.  :P
I wasn't meaning to insinuate anything in my OP, but it seems it came off that way.
I am more interested in individual experiences, rather than proving any points or looking for some generalisations.

When I was signing up with an agency, it felt as though I was embarking on an adventure at least and at best starting a new life page. The thought that nothing could come out of my efforts did not occur to me at all for two reasons:

1)About a year before I went to the agency, a friend of my friend married an American man. She told us that it seemed to her that American men were better in all respects.  This assertion made me hopeful that the chance of finding a good men abroad was higher than locally.
2) I was confident that I would be able to interest a man who met my criteria of the right one.

The first surprise was when I was looking through men's profiles in a catalog. With a few exceptions, the men looked weird to me, and I was wondering how they could not understand that they needed to comb their hair nicely and to dress themselves appropriately for the pictures if they were going to use them to charm women. So, I felt somewhat disappointed. However, my good mood was quickly restored as men started answering my ad.  To my joy, a higher % of them impressed me favorably.

The whole process of building relationship through the agency was comfortable for me and time–efficient. I have never felt as though I was a meat or something of that sort. When I joined an agency (2004), I did not speak English at all, had no idea which sites to use, how to publish my profile, and other details. The agency was a good solution to all the problems.
If you don't understand something, why the other person is the idiot?

I am very curious, which agency did you use??  and which big American agency were they affiliated with??
