A good bachelor in Ukraine
« on: January 10, 2011, 08:02:12 PM »
I'm guessing it will be a VM trip, not a VO:
http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/01/07/maksim-chmerkovskiy-is-the-bachelor-in-ukraine/
http://rezonans.in.ua/10386-sostoyatelyny-drug-bekhma-ishtet-nevestu-v-ukraine.htm
(Google Chrome does a nice job of translating web pages)

But why did he turn down the American 'Bachelor'? On his site, he denied the idea that he wasn't attracted to American women, but simply felt that the Ukrainian version of the show might yield more honest contestants.

The 4th most eligible bachelor in the world narrows his choices from 25 to 7:

Marina, the lady I expected to win, turned him down.
One of the dangers of the VM process.

Leaving this lady, Alexandria, to become the final survivor:

JohnDearGreen,

Thanks for mentioning that show. A few days ago, I watched it on youtube from start to the end today. Actually I was entertaining an idea to make a thread about it here, but then changed my mind, because I don't think of what use it may be to the forum members.

Funny stuff.

Isn't he originally from Odessa ?
Max and Neo could compete for the top ten Odessa Anastasiaweb girls , or perhaps the girls for them? now that would be a show!

and wasnt Max engaged to one of the other DWTS instructors for quite awhile? (Karina or ?)

anyway my UW finds the show done poorly for some reason...and Max a *dafodil*
(meaning he thinks he is a bit too good for everyone?)

I havn't watched it.
Always thought he was entertaining in the episodes of DWTS that i've seen..

I understand it had huge ratings in Ukraine.  I was surprised at the quality (lack of) in the selection of ladies.  One was rumored to have spent time in jail.  One rumored to be an alcoholic.  Marina and Alex were the only 2 of 25 that seemed a potential match for life in the fast lane with Maks.

Maks is known as the "bad boy of ballroom".  I think most of us would not behave much different if we were in his shoes.

Actually more apt to call me a  dandolion than dafodil though :(

As far as I read about the show, Mask selected the 25 participants from a larger pool of applicants. Two girls with some alleged flaws in their biographies out of 25 does not seem to be a problem to me.

Other than that, about the mentioned jail time, Russian police is known for their inclination to incarcerate people without compelling reasons hoping to get a bribe.

Half the ladies were selected because they had an interest in dancing and show business.  The other half for other reasons.   Supposedly his interest in the 1st group was no greater than the 2nd group.
Two girls with some alleged flaws in their biographies out of 25 does not seem to be a problem to me.

I was also referring to the general appearance of 1/3 of the ladies.  The men on this forum probably wouldn't write them.

Yana was the sexiest and the heavy favorite in the Ukraine polls to win.  But if you have ever hung out with the dancer crowd, they are a different breed.  A beautiful lady, but Yana had 2 very slow left feet on the dance floor.

I don't know if she was the sexiest, but she definitely had the best personality. Frankly, her dancing abilities probably mattered the least.

Also she is waay more beautiful than Sasha

Looking at Karina Smirnoff, previous girlfriend of Maks, one could make a pretty educated guess about what type of women attracts Maks. Sasha seems to be closer to this type than Yana.
