Speaking of convenience, be forewarned if you do step over to the basin, be aware of this...

Traffic is bad enough as it is on a 'normal day', but shutting down one of the busiest freeway in the country for that duration is #!@# ridiculous. I will speculate the insanity zone to be no less than 50 miles from the core.

Stock up on food, bar the doors/windows, keep the animals indoor, tell MIL to take a Sunday drive, and don't tell LAMan & JR! LOL

Whaaaat???
Yea...got to know already. I usually set off to beach on Sundays for volleyball BUT Isn't it on weekend of july 17-20 for the closures??? Hate to be CAUGHT in that mess. Just figure to maybe do the Malibu Canyon route!!!

Yeah, so long as you head northward once you hit PCH to Vball, then you should be cool. PCH will likely be either the first or second option (w/ Sepulveda Pass) as an arterial alternative between the westside and the valley. Both have no way out once you get caught in a jam.

1. Because of 'man', global warming is causing desert and arid areas to suffer long, dry spell.
2. The 2018 Camp Fire and Woolsey California wildfires are forests burning because of global warming.
3. N95 mask will choke you dead after 30 min. of use.
