Russian drinking toasts

I have searched Google and Amazon.com for some good examples of appropriate Russian dinner/party/drinking toasts but were unable to find anything useful. Several times in the past I have been caught flat footed in situations that had called for some kind of remark or decent toast proposal from myself, you know, something beyond an embarrassed mumble. For my coming trip, I am determined to be prepared and ready to party with something memorized or at least something written and handy. Any ideas please?

I was always told that the third toast is always made to honor the Russian women...

This is because the men usually have had enough to drink by then to forget about them.

Not sure if I would use this one the first drink of the first drunk with a particular group of men, but we all laughed our butts off when one of the crowd (of 3-4 drinkers, me included) toasted "To Soviet Technology". It ws after we had been laughing at some example of Soviet incompetence. I think it was over the whole hot water situation, or the phones. Cannot remember, because we got really, really drunk. After that, we had a toast to "Soviet Technology" once per drinking party. I imagine the age group and attitude has to be right.
