Especially.. its over me.. the joke in  Indian circles is that: these Russian mesage boards/agncies/sites etc -  have all wised up.. to this outsourcing phenomenon and have outsourced  ' Fat Yuri'- to an Indian Call Center- where cheap guys - I guess guys  like me - resopond to such events/activities..

We, were sued, for using a celebrity in our ads.. { it was a more than  100 Million dollar markeing campaign] so yes, I also know 'some' about  the copy right laws and since I have a patent, I also know 'some' about  the IP law.. I mentioned the IP word here..by mistake.. because they go  - at times together in the same sentence.. BUT .. there is a  caveat.. here.

IP - Intellectual Property: is very weird, text.. on drive.. if accesed  to be deleted/edited/ can only be done if its a property of someone..  copy rightted material..if owned can be deemed as property .. a;thiugh  this is loose..it could be claimed.. by a clever lawyer that whatever  is bEing accepted here.. is yOur intellectual asset.. and then asset  becomes a propety and then the company - owns the asset.. and when the  aseet is owned - then well.. euqiatya nd liablity of ownership and its  assets come into play.. by sheer design.. now all of this is concoction  and I dont care.. I said it before.. in my first post.. also.. I told  others to be easy on her.. etc etc.. well.. u can say whatever u want..  

You were sued, presumably (from your description), because you intended to PROFIT from the image of the celebrity. That is NOT the case with the avatar - or ANY OTHER image that is put up on this board, hence, the liability and exposure for THAT type of claim is pretty slim. Others perhaps, but that one is not likely (never say never).

Well, the main point above is your reference to Muslims and how they are depicted in this board. If you read very far, you will also find that I have, on several occasions, made the point that my best friend in the world is a Muslim. He is originally from the Middle East. He and I met in Taiwan - and there is no one in the world I would trust more than my Muslim friend - to the point I would entrust the lives of my children to him - and I have.

I am a practicing Christian. I have a friend whom I have known since I was 10 years old - we played sports in High School - he worked for me on several occasions - and he and his family are now Christian missionaries in Pakistan.

But absolutely NONE of that is THEMATIC, hence, I VERY rarely write of it - and then, only when I see the gross imbalance in perspectives demonstrated on the board.

Rather than try to balance the scales, I opted to ask the sincere question about why people feel this compulsion to engage in these debates on boards which have NOTHING TO DO with what you are arguing over. It truly and sincerely makes no logical sense to me.

Actually, I lived in New Delhi for some time a few years ago and developed some great and good friends there. Many are still in contact with me, and I enjoy them very much.

In fact, I was almost to write about my experience with beautiful Indian women - in the thread about Spanish women. What I wanted to say is that the MOST beautiful woman I have EVER seen in my life - without question - was an Indian woman who was came to a party at the American Embassy in Delhi for one Fourth of July celebration.

I have absolutely nothing against anyone Indian - at all.

Dan knows a little something about the Intellectual Property (IP) and  copyright laws (very little). Did you actually READ the Terms of  Service document incorporated into the email you registered with?? If  not, I suggest you take a moment and visit the Administrative section  to peruse it.

While at it, you may want to take some time to read the laws about  copyright insofar as public figures are concerned. You may be surprised  to learn their images are not nearly so protected as you seem to think.

I kind of liked a fiancee's avatar, and am sorry your comments inspired  her to remove them. I also think you might be a tad more careful with  how you wordcraft some of your posts. She was offended, and others  interpreted your post in a similar fashion. At best, it was ambiguous.  When several people provide you consistent feedback, it MAY be  worthwhile to take a look in the mirror for the source.

In general American men can go to Russia and at least meet prettier and younger woman than back home. But from what I've seen, in general they are not meeting women that are more traditional, family oriented, easy to get along with, or with less baggage than back home.

The point is NOT whether you have Indian or Moslem or Christian  friends... is it?? My point {sorry, you call it ranting] is: HOW can u  find my comment offensive and at the same time.. not find someone  else's offensive? and what really wrong did I commit by asking a simple  question.: also..a comment in the leading Indian daily newspapers  -  enlisting - that Russian sites are using Indian celebs -- etc  etc and some are irked.. etc etc..

Look - I meant no offense. And I can see that our posts got crossed - as I was composing my reply, you were posting yours - and vice versa.

In fact, that is why I sent you the PM - so that we might have a more productive discourse.

As for a fiancee, as I said, she is strong enough that I doubt she needs me to console her. And besides, it does seem that you offered an apology for the offense she felt - that was a good move on your part.
