Sms to Ukraine

Hi, on a recent trip to Ukraine I met a very nice woman in Kharkov.
Im back in Australia now, and trying to maintain some forms of communication with her.
Aside from letter writing, I would like to send a sms messages during the day etc. But, for some reason she is not getting my sms.
Im dialling, +38 96 (123 4567)
Am I dialling wrong number? Ive sent sms to Russia, and had replies so I know I can send and receive from overseas, but am clueless to why this is not working.
If anyone can help Id greatly appreciate it.

i had this problem a couple off years ago icarus & found out the then brit mobile company i was using did not use the ukraine mobile company my girlfriend then had. checkout this first in aussie-land

are you dialling all 12 numbers 2 her mobile correct plus the +?. try 00 instead of the +

last send your girls number 2 my lyudmila at below & she will  call your girl in kharkov if your getting really desperate

Hi mate,
I tried, and retried. Had all 12 numbers and even tried without the zero, or the network code but still nothing.
I know the number is right, its the same number she had in Kharkov when I was there less then 3 weeks ago. I called her on it there, I sms'd her with it there so the number is right.
I will chase my telco up in the morning and see what they have to say.

Ic: Ask Kuna, he'd be pretty clued in on the SMS thing from here to Uki I'd suspect. If it's anything like I experienced years back, other than Telstra was a waste of time and even then, a bunch of SMS's would come through in a group and then the system would constipate. Made no difference if I was there or here. The Russian systems are far more reliable then the Uki systems from here.

BTW, very close friends of ours here are from Kharkov, his ol' man is the VC of one of the Uni's there. They're all pretty well healed, connected and more than half clued in on the place if you want anything from the gun so to say.

This should get an sms to her.

Your provider might have the same capability to send email to SMS if you don't receive her sms's

Some mobile providers do not work well together.  Have experienced such in the past.
