I agree that RW could benefit in many ways from knowing American history.  This statement from this source suggests, however, that some of this could be distorted.

RW are controversial enough.
 
I suggest PBS's American Experience, "TV's most watched history series."

American Experience is an incredible program and very detailed.  For example, surely RW (and many AM at RWD) would be interested in  the story of the American effort to relieve starvation in 1921 Soviet Russia.
 
And the film is free, available via online streaming!!!!

I never knew Herbert Hoover was a noble and hard working humanitarian  (all I knew is that the Great Depression started when he was President).  He could be credited as saving more lives than any other President.

Hopefully the program survives budget cuts.  BTW, I believe most of PBS's funding comes from private sources.

Yeah...that good ole penny wise and dollar foolish US congress wants to cut out PBS funding completely.
